As a Nurse Practitioner, I see many patients that live in assisted facilities. This facility that is locally owned, takes care of its residents as if the residents were the owners parents. What a welcomed site to see.

The Vilas home is truly a gift to the North Country. The staff are incredibly dedicated to making the residents feel at home -- with plenty of events and activities to keep residents involved. The Vilas Home is an assisted living residence that has provided my father with a true home-like atmosphere with skilled staff who are as caring and attentive as ones own family. I would highly recommend Vilas as a place for anyone requiring a home away from home and plenty of TLC.

This is a nice nursing home. It does have more of a home feel than a commercial facility. Part of that is due to the 1800s building design. My friend Betty who lives here is well taken care of. If you or a loved one has a need for nursing care, this place is certainly worth considering.
