When looking at assisted living alternatives for your aging parents it’s easy to focus on the facility and physical features one can observe on a tour/visit. While this is important, what you can’t measure up front is the level of care your loved ones will be provided as residents. In the long run this is what is far more important than bricks and mortar and a schedule of offered programs. The Bungalows at Springdale more than met my parents requirements for a living space / facility and amenities. They are proud to say they are living at the Bungalows as It is a very nice and well kept facility that physically accommodates the needs of the residents. They are also constantly developing and offering programming and events for those residents and their families that wish to or are able to participate. What far exceeded my parents and my own expectations is level of care and careing provided by everyone there. The people. That’s what makes a facility great. From Paula and her management team to all levels of the care givers and staff, you have people who genuinely care about each of the residents and take ownership for the high level of care they are providing. Because I live in a different state, a days travel away, it was very important to me to be able to be confident they would be well taken care of and needs met in my absence. Based on what my wife and I have personally observed during visits over the years as well as comments on phone calls I rest worry free knowing that they are happy, needs are being at met or exceeded and they are in good hands. Communication from the staff when appropriate has been excellent as well. The people at the Bungalow are truly more like friends or family than someone just doing their job. A very heartfelt thanks to all of you at the Bungalows at Springdale for what you do and do so well.

The Bungalows of Springdale exemplifies excellent quality of care in all aspects. Mom has resided for over a year and feels comfortable and safe at home with the staff and residents. The transition of moving mom from state to state was eased by the knowledge and support of Paula and staff. Paula has an open-door policy which has been utilized and appreciated. There is a monthly schedule of engaging activities allowing resident interaction and entertainment. Family members are encouraged to participate in activities. We visit on different days and times and are always greeted with huge hellos, smiles, and waves. The staff is very attentive to the residents’ needs and communicate regularly with family. We visited 8 assisted living facilities and chose The Bungalows of Springdale. We are so grateful to be a part of their family.

VERY happy with the staff. They are very responsive when residents need help. They are engaged and truly enjoy working with the elderly. Thankful for the Dementia Support group the last Monday of the month. Do wish there were more entertainment type activities for those who are unable to play games. Hope the food improves.

My dad has lived at the Bungalows for several months. He likes the administrator and staff very much. He often tells me how kind everyone is to him. The Executive Director, Paula, cultivates a family atmosphere. The facility is lovely, and the food is delicious. (Daddy often tells me about a meal that was so good! ) The hair stylist does a very good job with his hair. He says that he enjoys sitting on the front porch visiting with friends he has made. Today, he told me that this was one of the best decisions he has ever made and, if he had it to do over again, he would make the same decision.

The staff is incredibly nice to work with! They exercised compassionate care with my mom after her move there during Covid restrictions. That meant that I could help her unpack with an appointment and after completing Covid check in procedures. This was not only necessary due to her physical limitations at 92, but also for her mental state with a move to unfamiliar surroundings and subsequent isolation due to Covid. It truly is an assisted independent living facility. The staff actually cares for their residents and wants them to be happy and involved. Morningside also helped me understand and implement my mom’s long care health insurance. This was something another home in a different city she lived at never even brought up. It will be a tremendous financial savings to my mom and without Mike (CEO) and Sabrina (head nurse) at Morningside educating us and helping us complete the paperwork, I’m not sure my mom would have ever used the insurance. I enjoy visiting my mom at her new home now (as compared to her old facilities where it was usually not a pleasant interaction with the staff or facilities.) I would encourage anyone to check it out for their loved one!

Staff is treated like family......but only if you ARE family!! The ED [name removed] has her family members (and close friends) working here. They are given favors over others and when they do something wrong she looks the other way or makes excuses, but other people are disciplined or even fired. This affects resident care because staff mood is so low and there is a lot of turnover. Take your loved one somewhere that is a true family environment.

When I was making calls asking about places for my loved one to move to, I spoke to Toni who is the director of nursing at The Bungalows. She was extremely helpful and kind. Although ultimately my loved one needed more assistance than what is available at the Bungalows, I would have felt comfortable with the staff and facility based on Toni's professionalism, knowledge, and demeanor.

Our mom has lived at the Bungalows for almost a year now, and I don’t think we could have found a better place for her to call home. The staff are all very caring and attentive. They check in frequently on the residents each day to make sure all is well. There are plenty of activities and opportunities for residents to stay busy. All in all, it’s a great place!

My dad has been a resident of The Bungalows at Springdale for about two years now. The first year he was in level 1 care, and received great care. For the last eight months he has been in level 2 care due to his increasing needs. There he receives even better care! My wife, Shirley, and I are incredibly happy with the care, attention, and affection shown to my dad. We are always surprised and pleased that, it seems, all of the staff know who he is and call out to him as we walk through the building. He is always telling us what good care they give him. He is happy and content. The staff at The Bungalows is kind, compassionate, and friendly. We visit several times a week to see my dad and always have a positive impression. If my dad's condition would allow it, we would have him living at home with us. We are thankful for, and truly appreciate The Bungalows and the staff there. It takes special people to provide the patient, compassionate, care they give to their residents.

My mom was a resident for almost 2 years. From the time she walked in the door to the time she left, the care was excellent. She lived in both the assisted level 1 area as well as the memory care level 2 section. The employees were kind, compassionate, and very good at what they did. They took care of my mom as if she was part of their family. I highly recommend the Bungalows in Springdale to anyone that needs this type of care. -Judy Harris

Started off great prior to the change of management and ownership in 2021. Since Phoenix Quality Living has taken over the quality of care and service has declined. In addition, they added a charge $5 per meal or $15 per day for 3 meals per day extra that was not disclosed in the original contract. Lastly, the quality of food has regressed due to them changing food distributors.

As a non-resident of Morningside of Springdale an objective review is somewhat daunting without being there everyday. But I do feel that I can speak for what my parents have told me over the course of the two years that they have called Morningside home. I do think they feel at home in their new surrounding. My Father pleasantly surprised by the amount of room that they had in their apartment. He has enjoyed his new patio as much as the one he sat at for 40 years. I think he was surprised by the flexibility that he has had in tending the patio garden and has told me on several occasions how accommodating to his interests the staff has been. Mother has conveyed how secure she feels and how easy the transition from their home had been. So much a simpler and easier life she has said. They both have enjoyed and participated in the faith based devotions and are grateful that this aspect of their life has been attended to. And then of course we have dealt with Covid for so many months. Myself and my siblings have thought the precautions that have been taken have been appropriate for the threat that it poses. Certainly I wish that personal visits and interactions outside was not limited. However the strategies that Morningside has implemented have been successful in keeping everyone healthy. It has been a huge step that my parents undertook into giving up mobility and independent living in a large home. I think they will both say it has been a very good move. And all of our family has felt blessed that this decision was made pre-covid. Mom remarked how difficult it would have been on us all if they had not moved before the pandemic. I did say from the start that it would be hard to recommend or evaluate a facility that I did not live in. But Mom said and they both seem content in the lives that they lead. I think that it has to be different. But independence and motivation to lead satisfying lives has been something that they both will tell you they have been granted and encouraged to do at a Morningside.

Great facility and the staff is really nice and they tried to work with my mom, however, she needs more of a memory care unit. My mom only stayed there for about 21-22 days but she gained weight as they have great meals 3 times a day and snacks which was an answer to prayer! I am thankful for everyone who cared for my mom there. She is in memory care community now and its the best fit! God continues to heal her and I continue to expect full healing!
