I LOVE Avista Senior Living!!! So does my lil lady Pat that I watch over!! This assisted living facility is the best I have seen and experienced!! I was a long term care Ombudsman for over 3 years. Not only is the facility updated but all of the staff are very caring. All the residents express that they are very happy here and now so are we!!! They go above and beyond even in basic care needs for the residents, more than I’ve seen anywhere else. They are friendly, the facility is smaller which is wonderful, they have activities all the tine, and the food is good. We could not be happier!! I only wish I had moved her in here sooner!!! If you are interested, come and visit the facility. There is a waiting list, but is well worth the wait!!!!

As a family, we feel so blessed our mom is now living at Avista. She is safe, and all of her needs are met. The staff here are compassionate to everyone, and well trained to help with any circumstance that may arise. Avista is one large family, and it’s so nice to hear my mom calling Avista her home. This is the third time we had to move mom due to poor leadership and staff management. And boy howdy, are we happy Avista came into our lives! If I could give ten stars, I would! We can finally sleep at night knowing mom is getting the proper care she highly deserves.

AVista Senior Living has truly been a blessing for both Mom and our entire family. After being abruptly moved from Montana to Spokane due to a medical emergency we determined that staying in Spokane was best for Mom. Navigating this process from out of state was definitely challenging but Doug Koyle and his team worked with us, the skilled nursing facility she was transferred from and anyone else who needed to be involved to make the transfer as easy as possible. No questions are too small or insignificant. Mom absolutely loves her new community at AVista - and that's quite a shift in her thought process. Cannot recommend AVista Senior Living Spokane highly enough!! We will always be grateful for their care, kindness and support during a very challenging time for our family. The peace of mind we now have is priceless!

Mom (Sandy) was here for her last 6 months of her life. She loved being here. She was treated with much respect and loved. Avista staff were fantastic. Avista still feels like her home to me. I stop in from time to time to visit the staff. I'm always embraced in hugs and with listening ears as to how I am doing. They truly care and love, not only their residents but the whole family.

Great care for my mom! Friendly, compassionate care. Amanda the care coordinator was on top of mom’s care program and went to bat for her when necessary with doctors. Doug was very helpful with transitioning mom to the community.

This building is operating without a director, or clinical supervision or maintenance person. This puts the residents at risk! No one is watching over the care and operation of this facility.

We thought it; we spoke it, We’ll have plenty of time to think about elder care later. Besides, how hard could it be? There are lots of places out there! And then it happened. In an instant, our loved one could no longer continue to live unassisted in his own home. Oh dear, where do we start? We began by visiting assisted living facilities online and onsite, hoping to narrow the scope of our search. It was all so overwhelming, and then we found our way to Avista and things began to make sense. We were instantly impressed with the cleanliness of the facility. A bonus was that the units were all at ground level; no stairs to navigate! The staff provided us with much-needed information regarding prices, services provided, support services available, etc. empathetic, knowledgeable, kind, etc. clean, well maintained,and a phenomenally cheerful staff. Avista helped us to cover all the bases as our loved one got moved in and adapted to his new home. When asked how he was liking his new home. He said, I feel safe, secure. His rapport with staff and other residents assures us that we made the right choice with Avista. We used to spend a fair bit of time taking him to medical appointments, loading and unloading the wheelchair after picking him up. Now, Avista takes him to the appointment and if we want to, we can meet him there. Avista staff maintains excellent communication with us regarding appointments, needs and necessary changes.

Avista Senior Living has been a huge blessing for my mom in particular but also for the whole family. The staff has bent over backwards to be accommodating for all of our needs. And some of those needs have been significant.They are good about contacting us with issues that crop up. It feels good to walk down the halls and be recognized and greeted by the staff. And that goes for management as well as caregivers. It’s just the right size where there are plenty of activities to participate in, and yet not so big that you get lost. Everybody knows everybody. And the staff is always vigilant, helping the residents back-and-forth from meals or activities. They try real hard to keep that social stimulation going. All in all, there’s never been any doubt in any of our minds that we made the right choice with Avista Senior Living.

Venus, the activity director, does SO MANY fun things for the residents. Bingo, hangman, art projects, many musical acts who perform at Avista Senior Living. She makes it so fun! I really appreciate her joy & enthusiasm.

Fantastic!!! I wish I could give it more stars. All the staff are amazing, caring. It is a clean facility. The apartments are set up well, roomy. Mom is very happy here. I would recommend this to anyone needing a community. Mom has been here about 6 months and has passed. They staff loved her well, took very good care of her throughout the rest of her life. They also took excellent care of myself as she passed. Thank you so very much. You all went above and beyond in your love and care. We Love you!

Avista is clean and very well maintained. Staff leadership is very accessible and always willing listen and goes above and beyond. My mom has only been in Avista aprox 3 weeks and has had a very smooth transition from the rehab hospital. The food seems to be a step above as well and mealtimes seem to be having a positive effect on my mom’s socialization. In addition, their shuttle service to get mom to her dr appointments has been a huge comfort. So far my family has been very happy with the facility and services at Avista senior living.

Avista Senior Living is a gem. We would highly recommend this facility if you are looking for a place. The admin staff were extremely helpful to us in securing a room for mom. The facility is small which is perfect for an elderly parent who is starting to be confused and forgetful. The layout is such that she can’t get turned around when going back to her room. The facility is beautifully kept up, the rooms are always clean and they offer a lot of activities to help keep the residents actively engaged. There is a middle courtyard where residents can gather outside and where residents can let a pet outside. It is like being home to have the pets occasionally roam into the room to say hello. The care staff are extremely compassionate and friendly. Mom has made friends with most of the staff and it did not take long for her to adjust. The dining facility offers very healthy and good meals and the residents seem to enjoy the mealtimes as much for the food as the social interaction. There is an onsite beauty parlor which is so convenient. The staff manage all mom’s medications and medical needs. We literally have not had to worry about mom or her care once since she has moved in. Avista has given us peace of mind and hope for mom enjoying her remaining years.

We love Wind River/Avista. It has been overall a great experience for my mom. She enjoys nearly all of the staff, and when she had problems with one, the director, MJ, took care of the situation immediately. MJ truly gets to know the residents and cares about their experience. Mom feels safe there, likes that it doesn't smell, enjoys the food (which is rare for an institution), has fun with the empliyees, gets involved with the activities, and feels like she can be herself. Honestly, never thought she would do well in an assisted living home, because she's so independent. Unfortunately, we will have to move her soon because they don't take Medicaid. Heartbroken over this. Truly.

Great assisted living facility. The staff cares about the residents and goes out of their way to make sure they are comfortable. They also offer great food to keep the residents going strong. If you have a loved one looking for a place to go, I highly recommend giving them a call and/or visit.
