Daily I'm aware of the efficient and pleasant treatment we get, from the front desk to the least detail - cleaning of our homes and common areas, keeping out grounds in good shape, providing delicious and nourishing meals, keeping us healthy in our fitness areas, and happy in all the great activities and opportunities - on and on I could go. But the past three weeks, as I've struggled with bronchitis, I was just overwhelmed with gratitude to realize how wonderful is to have extra help when we need it. Although I've certainly used the clinic many times in the past it was especially helpful this time to be able to go down the hall, get checked out, get prescriptions, have the X-ray machine come to my apartment, have transportation take me to my doctor with only one days notice, and have my meals delivered. What a blessing! I can't tell you how grateful I am to live here and have the cheerful, kind people on staff surrounding us and helping us. I know that you have worked hard to make these things happen, and it really pays off. Please thank everyone for me - all those who serve us so wonderfully. And when we need anything extra - like special set-up or help for Glee Club, technical assistance, help moving heavy items - whatever it is - your staff is just great to do all they can to accommodate us. The Heritage is the place to be, for sure, and I can't thank you and them enough. With deepest gratitude, Diane Jordan

I moved my mom to the Heritage 2 years ago. The independent living apartments are fine as well as the services offered but not extraordinary for the amount of money this costs. However, the reason we chose this place was for the continuum of care up to skilled nursing. We had to move my mom to the assisted living 10 days ago because of her dementia increasing. We were told she would have a phone landline since she has trouble using a cell phone. She has yet to get a working land line and no one seems the least concerned. We were told they would prompt her for activities that she has trouble remembering but then told only activities that were at the assisted living section. We were told she couldn't have her hair dryer or curling iron but there was hairdressing available that she could get weekly. Again, not available unless she walks outside over to the independent living side. No one will help her find her way over there nor will they help her remember her appointment times. So we basically moved her over there for two extra meals and medicine administration. This is a joke! I'm back to doing all of the reminders when I can get her to answer her cell phone. I should have left her in independent and hired helpers for her. The nurses and workers on the floor are super kind but everyone above them have been pretty dismissal to my concerns. I will not be recommending the Heritage to any of my friends who have aging parents in this area! Edit- while the transition from independent living to assisted living was rough, my mom is well taken care of in the Assisted Living section of the Heritage and I am thankful that I moved her where she can be more closely monitored and cared for.

After visiting several facilities in the area and always coming back to The Heritage , we selected it and have moved in. All the positive things we were told about the place are understated. The amenities, service, food and overall experience has exceeded our expectations. Very happy with our choice.

I have not lived here during the best or the worst of times. I have lived here for a year during difficult times. With that said, the staff has done EVERYTHING possible to bring back the good times. There is no place I'd rather be. I love my home, I love my new friends and neighbors. Every day I am thankful that we chose to come here.

I have had the pleasure of being employed by The Heritage at Brentwood for almost two years. In that time, I have experienced seniors making one of the most emotional decisions of their life. Many times that means moving across the country to be closer to family and giving up a lifestyle they were familiar with and exchanging it with the hope of of a better one. What makes my work easier is the staff we have here dedicated to provide services and experiences to ease the transition. But the real hero's of our community are the residents who welcome the newcomer and help them feel right at home, their new home. If you are a senior, or the adult child of a senior looking to explore this next phase of retirement, I high encourage you to visit our community and experience it for yourself. You'll be glad you did!

I've had various relationships with The Heritage at Brentwood since its grand opening in 2007 -- from covering it when still with The Tennessean and after I created Brentwood Home Page; serving as a part-time, weekend receptionist; and filling temp roles in administration and marketing when needed. For the past three years, I've worked with the Marketing Department as its PR and Community Relations liaison. I love sharing the story of The Heritage on social media, in local media and more because I truly love the community and its residents. I've been interested in aging and the issues -- good and bad -- that come with it for years. As a Life Care Community, it's wonderful for couples where if one ultimately requires a move to assisted living or Somerfield Health Center, the other can remain in their independent living home and visit whenever they want since every level of care is on the same campus. For singles without children or close relatives, The Heritage offers the security of knowing they will receive excellent care within a great community for the rest of their life. All residents enjoy a maintenance-free lifestyle, and The Heritage's amenities can't be beat. I'm 62 and have told my husband when we hit our early '70s, we're moving in ... if we wait that long!

My wife and I have been living at The Heritage--with its beautiful, parklike 48.5 acre campus--for 3 years. We love it. We have many new friends here, and every day we can choose from around 15 different activities. We can order breakfast, lunch or dinner. The dinner menu, with a choice of 4 salads, 2 soups, 11 entrees, and 11 sides, changes every 2 weeks. The food is great. We have transportation available for local food stores, medical appointments, Nashville Symphony and other special events. You really don't need a car. The Heritage is a wonderful place to live.

Downsizing is a challenge but with all the amenities offered at The Heritage, Bill and I are looking forward to the day when we can move into the new Redbud addition. We already have friends who live and work there and the door is always open for us to drop by. The Executive Club has helped us learn about what we will experience once we become residents. Thanks Judy, Stephen and Ashley for throwing out the welcome mat to us.
