Governors Glen is a great place for anyone who's looking for a place to put their loved one with Alzheimer's/dementia needing memory care. The activity director Laura is awesome! She always has activities planned. In October, she had a fashion show/ awareness for breast cancer. She always have worship service twice a week which my Aunt loves. She schedules concerts, and other activities. This month was a door decoration activity. My Auntie enjoyed working with me to decorate her door.

I love the love and care my mom receives here. The management and staff are professional and mindful of any concerns or needs. The activities for residents and family involvement is awesome! Great choice❤️

My mom has been here for over a year. They take such good care of her, I never have to worry about it. The doctor and staff are genuinely concerned for my mom's care and have so much compassion for the family also, their actions and vibe reflect these things.

Upon my arrival for my appointment to Governor’s Glen, the weather changed drastically. One of those ferocious Georgia storms was passing through. I tried to wait it out but rain would not let up. So I had to get my mother inside. I was having difficulty getting her wheelchair out of the trunk. Mom was getting inpatient. The rain was ferocious. This man burst out of the building to my car, put a blanket over mom and I heard him say, “Don’t worry sugar, I got you”. His clothes was completely soaked. He picked mom up out of the car and took her inside and sat her in the chair. When I got inside, he was gone. I told Ms. Kim what this kind man who works here had done for my mother. She said no one works here fits my description. I describe him again. She said, he does not work here. He owns the facility. His name is Paul. My mouth dropped. She said, that’s Paul. He has a heart of gold. I knew immediately, I had to get my mother in this place. My mom was in another facility and she had stopped eating and speaking. I live 600 miles away from Atlanta and I needed for my mom to be safe and loved everyday. I am happy to say, I has been a year since my mom joined the Governor’s Glen community and she is not just eating, but she is feeding herself and is trying to walk again. The life in my mom as come back. Everyone knows Ms. Madgelene and she loves it. I want to thank Dr. Paul, and all of the people at Governor’s Glen for loving and caring for the most precious people in our lives. Sharon Davenport 11.21.2022

Yes! I give “The Glen” 5 Stars! The Glen is the ideal community for your loved ones who may suffer from any type of Memory/Alzheimer’s or Dementia related issues. Making the decision to place my daddy in a facility was an emotional and difficult decision for me and my sister. We had always vowed that we would never place our parents somewhere because we were the ones responsible for them in their elderly years. But when it gets challenging with a loved one who requires care genuine love and motivation. We had called so many places and nothing felt right. The initial phone call was very telling. The Administrator Kendra Smith answered the phone. Instantly her energy over the phone was the first positive sign for us and we couldn’t wait to tour and meet Kendra. Kendra was pleasant and very welcoming. There was absolutely no pressure. My sister and I were so impressed with the presentation we signed my daddy up that day and we haven’t regretted that day yet! The entire staff is patient and caring. The facility itself is so beautiful and it doesn’t even look or feel like the typical nursing home. It’s clean and bright and not to mention the daily activities Mrs Laura who’s the Activity Director has in store for them. Whether it’s BINGO, painting, reading, exercising, music and even worship services. Plus they encourage family participation. Which is fun The entire staff loves on my daddy like me and my sister do. Communication is important to me. The team members and leaders at The Glen seem to effortlessly strive for excellence in Memory Care and Geriatric Health. You can always call and speak to Kendra, Laura or Tina the Nurse if you have any concerns They’re always available. And if not they’ll call you back in a timely manner. And you will always be notified if your loved one is having issues, falls, changes in diet or other any other problems that might be concerning. We are so blessed to have happened upon The Glen! Like I stated earlier. That first call with Kendra Smith was very telling.☺️ My daddy is going on his 2nd year at The Glen.

I really do like know that the care here is great for my mom. She likes knowing that it is the same community when she is not at home to get care at home. The staff is wonderful. The meals are outstanding and she likes to participate in the activities. We would recommend this community to families who want good care.
