Our sister is a new resident at Someren Glen and everyone has been so kind and patient with her and with us. It's been a tough transition for her and she was exhausted for the first few days, but is nicely adjusting and starting to recover. Both her NP, nurses, and support staff have been very reassuring and have a calming presence. The entire team is working closely with Alisa to create a personal care plan. Thank you. We Look forward to meeting other staff and residents over the months to come and become part of your family.

My mother in law has been a resident at Someren Glen Skilled nursing facility since 12/2020 after she had a stroke. Our experience has been largely positive, as there are a number of excellent, compassionate care-givers that care for her on a daily basis. The life enrichment staff has been wonderful in taking the residents on a number of field trips, especially post Covid. My MIL was moved into memory care/Evergreen neighborhood a year ago and she has benefited tremendously from the increased staff to resident ratio. A special recognition is due to Erin, nurse Christina (who rotates through the different neighborhoods), Elvis (aide that helps in the Spruce neighborhood), and some other aides whom we can not remember the names of but are very kind. The pastoral staff has always been excellent, too, and has been very meaningful to all of us. We have had trouble getting access to the health care providers, especially since we switched from United Health Care to Perennial Advantage (which was required). Direct access to the physician and dentist (Senior Smiles) has been difficult. Unfortunately, my MIL had significant dental decay that was never reported by the Senior Smiles staff, and it was discovered and ultimately treated by an outside dentist. That was a significant problem that we hope gets addressed. We are asking that every time a provide sees my MIL, that we be informed as she does not remember, together with what was addressed. The other service that we highly valued called Care Merge let us know what activities my MIL participated in - unfortunately that was discontinued. We hope they bring back a similar service. Overall we highly value the compassionate care and dedicated care givers — just a few areas for improvement . We recognize it is very challenging ministry and we do appreciate all many do to make it as pleasant as possible!

This is my second time visiting Someren Glen SNF for rehab. In fact, I requested to be sent here after a brief stay at the hospital for a spinal surgery. The staff is very friendly and attentive and always answer the call buttons in a timely manner. I feel safe and comfortable and important to everyone here.

Looking for a place for my 90 year old father. Ashley took us on an amazing tour, answered all our questions and we left extremely impressed. What a great facility with so much to do. My father needed rehab care and we were very fortunate to find Someren Glen. It is a very well run facility, with an excellent and caring staff. They all worked together to help him recover. My father was a resident on the Aspen floor of the long term care part of Someren Glen. It was a gut wrenching decision to place my father in a nursing care facility. I have high expectations and can be overly critical. My mother and I visited my father 4 to 5 times a week for two plus hours and really got to know the facility. I can honestly say that the nursing staff, CNA's and folks who work in nutritional services are AMAZING, gifted, and passionate professionals. They give exceptional care to the residents and extend love and support to the family. From the bottom of my heart I offer an abundance of gratitude for the love and care my father received from the Aspen team. (If I could give 4 1/2 stars it would only be because there were times that our interactions and communication with the administrative team was difficult and the chaplain they have never once introduced himself. Every time I was in Someren Glen he was either not there, or in his office, with the door closed, on his computer.)

I was blessed to work at Suites at Someren Glen skilled nursing for close to 3 years. You will literally not find a more dedicated and spirit-filled group of people who truly strive to provide compassionate care to the elderly and in-need, both short and long term. My grandparents moved into the independent living section of Someren about a month ago. Every time I visit, the staff and residents are so friendly! From what I can tell so far, the community really cares about each other - my grandparents have received invites to all sorts of group gatherings. Unfortunately I had to place my dad in assisted living one year ago due a variety of medical and social concerns that arose during the pandemic. I have been so happy with the loving care he has received. He is a new man. Consistent medication, good food and positive interaction from the staff and other residents has returned my father to his pre pandemic self. The staff has been wonderful to him and I found them very accommodating and easy to communicate with. Someren Glen also did an excellent job keeping the patients safe and healthy during this pandemic. I could not be more happy with my choice of assisted living facilities.

Elaine Romero is THE BEST nurse manager EVER!!!! My stepdad has been here for at least 2 weeks and I could not be happier with his care! Elaine has taken excellent care of him, kept me updated frequently and even caught a serious health issue he had and sent him to the hospital! Probably saved his life! I wasnt expecting too much when he first went there, since many rehab places turn out to be only fair. But, Someren Glen has turned out to be wonderful! My stepdad remarks how good they are to him and says the food is good too. Alena, the Social Worker, is very responsive and keeps in touch, always returning phone calls and following through! Tyler is really helping him with the physical therapy part and getting him strong again! They have not tried to push him out with an early discharge, but really care that he is back to health and strong again! Even the woman who answers the phone at the main number is very nice and goes above and beyond to explain about the place and help you find what you need. I dont know all the others names, but my stepdad says theyve given him nice showers and always check on him and help him quickly when he needs something. I chose this place for him and Im so glad I did. I have been a nurse for 20 years and am in grad school for nurse practitioner. I have a good grasp on what healthcare should be and this place has exceeded expectations! Thank you Elaine Romero, Alena, Tyler and everyone at Someren Glen!

Someren Glen is a first class community that offers care to all levels of need. My mother spent nearly 21 months in the long term care community and thrived there. The entire staff from administration to the health workers, life enrichment and housekeeping have truly caring hearts and are invested in the residents. I could not have chosen a better community for my mother and I would recommend Someren Glen to anyone seeking long term care.

Someren Glen is a very nice looking place and even has a grand piano I can play. They offer awesome drinks of water for the guests, which I really need. I was disappointed that there was no gluten-free food for me to eat, like there was at the hospital. I was extremely disappointed when I could not communicate with my husband. I left a message for him with the receptionist. She did not say when I left the message that it was not her job to deliver it. I believe she gave it to the nurse manager, who dropped the message. The nurse manager later told me I could use a different means of communication, which I have not tried yet, but I was not happy that an important message was lost. I left a message to let my husband know I would be there at 3:30 PM and thought it was delivered. I was so tired from all the stress I could not drive that day, but I took Lyft to get there on time. When I arrived, my husband was asleep and slept for two more hours, during which time I waited around. I felt like my money and efforts to get there on time were wasted. A message was dropped by the staff, who could have been more professional about it.I do not think the staff realizes how much stress and fatigue family members go through. Not being able to communicate multiplies that stress. This problem could be better addressed.I decided to edit this, and increase my rating from one to four stars, because the rehab center provided a way for me to communicate with my husband. However, they still need to take steps to prevent the problem from re-occurring.

The staff at Someren Glen was very understanding and patient. They respected my mother and where she was at physically, giving her time to recover, while still giving her physical therapy. Greg, the lead physical therapist, was great, as was the entire nursing staff. The food was also great. Due to their efforts, she is back at her assisted care facility and doing wonderfully. I cannot say enough good things about Somern Glen.

I am a nurse who has worked in assisted living facilities. This is one of the best facilities around. One challenge that all LTC facilities face is staffing. While many would say "just pay them more", the customers (me and you) don't want to pay more, and so your option would be to hire a full/part-time aide or nurse (expensive for us). My point is that there are options. I've seen other employees serving at dinner to help out when they are short - staffed , which is incredible. They really try and really care here, and that cannot be said for all facilities.

My mom was here for 20 days and we were impressed with the care and service she received, as well as the fabulous communication with the staff. She really seemed to thrive at Someren Glen. Then she fell and went to a different facility, and the level of care was night and day! I wish we had had Someren Glen as an option the second time around, as she is certainly not thriving where she is.Thanks bunches and a /hat tip to the folks at Someren Glen!

Assisted Living Center uses the term "assisted living" or "personal care" to inform users that a community provides assistance with some Activities of Daily Living (ADL's). It may not meet your state's legal definition required for that level of care.
