Our mother was in CSL at Kilmarnock for her final months of life. We could not be more happy with the empathy, care, cleanliness, and attentiveness of the staff. Her room was bright and she her own window where she could watch the turtles and hummingbirds come and go. The entire staff was amazing: even Jerry the chef would sit with our mom and keep her company once she became bed-bound! Regardless of their role, every single staff member acts like a caregiver. We could not have been more happy with Commonwealth at Kilmarnock and the administration and the staff.

I was very impressed with the fact that the Director of Residence and the Director of Sales and Marketing, personally went to another facility to screen my brother for consideration as a resident for Commonwealth. Very attentive and friendly staff. Knowledgeable and attractive staff who are very efficient and caring. New wall paint looks super and I know the new carpet will look wonderful! Wonderful activities for seniors here at Commonwealth. Arts and crafts, bingo, table pool/game, outside activities/field trips, and good food. Happy people work here!

I was visiting my Mom on the memory care unit. The staff are always very attentive and we know some of the girls from Right at Home. It’s the next best thing to home with 24 hr care. The staff are wonderful and I always thank them for doing a job I know takes a special person. Bless them all.

Every time I go to visit my dad I have an issue that needs to be dealt with. And although things get fixed it doesn't take long to go back to the way it was and I need to complain again about the same issue. Understaffing is their biggest problem. The people that work there are nice they just don't always do their job. The care plans are in place for a reason. To be followed. Yet that isn't always the case.

I am repeatedly saddened and concerned about the situation of short staffing and minimal care that ALL of the residents receive. Room cleaning and trash removal are almost non existent. Meals are questionable, unappetizing and cold. Heaven only knows what goes on in the Memory Care unit. I shudder every time I see an ad in the Rap Record. I can only pray for the people who have nowhere else to go. I have to believe that justice will come to the Commonwealth Administration.

Kilmarnock senior living is a great place to live. We have lots of activities that will keep you busy all day. We take trips out to shop, eat, plays, sight seeing, crafts, movies in our theater, family nights, great nursing staff and all of our other wonderful staff. Come by and say hi. My mother lived in Kilmarnock Commonwealth Assisted Living for the past year and a half. She needed more help than I was able to give to her. She received the help that I could not supply plus a secure and friendly place she could call her own. After she past we went back to find that the staff loved her and treated her as family. Thank You for all the love and care.

Before I retired seven years ago, I was in healthcare administration in the Kilmarnock community, and Commonwealth has always had a good reputation. I did look into several agencies, and came in to take the tour at Commonwealth and liked what I saw. It was very clean, and there was a home atmosphere about it that I liked very much. Everybody was very friendly. It just looked like a place where my mother could feel comfortable. My mom is a bit of a loner, but she has made friends here. Some of the staff here have really taken her under their wing. I think the interpersonal relationships shes been able to foster have helped her tremendously. That goes from administration right on down to the aids, everybody seems to try their best. Things arent always perfect and they wont be anywhere, but they do the very best they can to meet her needs. They really try to make her feel like she is the most important. It happens consistently when I see people stop what theyre doing to either take her back to her room or to get her something she is asking for.
