Currently, our Dad is a resident at Country Cottages. He has been here for over a year. I would highly recommend them to anyone (and have). From the moment I had the first phone call…meeting at home…in house meeting…we have felt it was the right decision. When I visit my Dad, he has a smile on his face, which makes me happy! My sister and I care the most about how he is treated. The staff are lovely and treat him like part of the family! I love talking to them. Shout out to Sierra, Tabatha, Wanda, Pepper, Kelli, Anne, and Kelly!! When he was sick, they treated him like I would. We love the staff! They make all the difference! They are kind, caring, and compassionate!! Some have been here for five years. If you are looking for a homey vibe which is like a cottage, look no further than Country Cottages. There are only 16 residents to a cottage which encourages them to know each other. I love the others residents too. I have had the privilege of socializing with them as well. Holidays and birthdays are special too. The activities coordinator, Kristy does a fantastic job! The residents are included when they decorate for the seasons, which make them feel like it is their home, because it is.

My mother-in-law has been at the Huntsville location of Country Cottage since 2006. She loves it there. It is more like home than a facility which is why we chose this location. The employees here are so kind and they go beyond their job duties. It's more like a family!

I would not want my dog to stay there. The administrator doesn’t care about the residents or the employees. It’s all about the money. There was an employee living in one of the resident’s rooms and was naked in the shower during the middle of a tour in the showing room. There are res assists who scream at and degrade the memory care residents when they don’t do as they are told. If you report it they question you like you are lying and trying to start trouble or mess up their bubble. If a resident can’t feed themselves anymore the resident asissts are told by administrator not to feed them but they won’t let them go to another place because they want to keep them paying for their room so the resident ends up passing away but it gets covered up. Management is secretive and clicky. They only have a few nurses and most are ok but they don’t work around the clock like the families are promised. They work during the day only and not available at night and some weekends. Some resident assist stay on their phones during their entire shift and ignore the residents and make the other workers do everything but if those workers complain or report they get punished. Residents get their stuff stolen and the administrator doesn’t care. If you report anything you get targeted by administrators including the corporate lady. The res assists are not trained to work around dementia patients who don’t understand or can’t remember. Everything gets swept under the rug or you get punished for trying to help. They make up rules as they go along and lie to families just to get them to rent a room. It’s always short staffed and I don’t think they do background checks on anyone before they hire them. The activity manager is always trying to get people to do her job for her and only pretends to be doing activities with them if there is a tour or family members in the building. It’s retaliation for reporting abuse, starting with the owner, then the corporate region lady and then to administrator and her assistant. If they would get a corporate manager and administrator who cared about the residents and employees instead of only covering their own tails and making money with false promises and weed out the workers who don’t need to be in caregiving, then it might be a better place. When you do a tour you should know they don’t tell the truth. Rooms are cheaper for a reason, it’s all about the money, not care, to that company.

Bree, Melinda, and the entire staff have been great with my grandmother. We had to hurriedly move her into assisted living due to declining mobility. Both Melinda and Bree, went above and beyond to help us get this done in about a week. I am so appreciative of this facility and it means a lot to me being 12 hrs away.

I was looking for a place for my mom and visited many assisted living facilities. When I walked in to the cottage and met with Kelly and took the tour I knew this was the place for my mom. The staff there is excellent and so helpful. If you need a place for your loved one please tour country cottage and find their new home.

The Cottages is the perfect place for my brother Brian at this time. I have found working with Bree and Kelly to be a very pleasant yet professional experience. I’m very pleased that they are dispensing his meds for him, he really needed that support. Also, he is receiving regular physical therapy, something he had been avoiding but is now engaged in on a weekly basis. He is also eating much better in the cafeteria, and has lost a bit of weight that really needed to come off. All; in all, having Bree, Kelly and the Cottages staff look after Brian has been a great relief to myself and my sister. Thank you Bree, Kelly and staff for all you do.

The staff are nice. Mom seems to be happy with the food. They keep the community clean. We like the setup of the community. It is small buildings with six to eight residents and they share a dining room. I would recommend this community.

I toured this community when we were looking for a place for my father. The staff was friendly and the community was clean. We ultimately decided to move elsewhere but they left a good impression.
