Recently, the time has come to move my 88-year-old father into Assisted Living after living in his condo by himself. We had multiple conversations with him about it over the last year, and at first he was reluctant to move. We visited several Assisted Living residencies in the area, and Atria Longmeadow in Burlington, MA was by far the best one. When we brought my father to see it, he really liked this facility and ended up picking his nice, new apartment that same day. We are very happy with how Atria operates, the friendliness of the staff and other residents, the activities and resources (e.g. large room for watching TV and movies together with other people, library, music room, dining room and many places for friends to spend time together), the fact that he is checked upon, and his needs - taking medications, doing laundry, apartment cleaning and 3 meals a day - are very well taken care of. It puts our family’s minds at ease knowing that he is safe, happy and is enjoying life in his new environment at Atria. And as a matter of fact, he likes the food at Atria so much that he has now put on some much-needed weight. Victor Z.

I’m so thankful for the care and support Atria has been able to provide my Mom. It’s not just what they do, but how they do it. My Mom entered Atria during a tumultuous time in her life, as there had been much personal tragedy over the past few years. The great team at Atria though has helped us see the light at the end of the tunnel. Between the friendly front desk workers, attentive dining room attendants, and supportive nursing aids, everyone has our Mom’s best interest in mind and they do so in the most compassionate way. I can’t say enough about how Atria has positively impacted this stage of my Mom’s life!

My mother has been living here for two years and I've gotten to know many of the staff from the aides up to the director. They show a lot of care and respect for her and bring positive energy to their interactions with her. Mom has also gotten to know a lot of other residents in the community and feels at home here. The staff are easy to reach and responsive, and I've been very comfortable knowing she is happy, safe and well looked after.

It's nice if your loved one does not have any special needs or requirements. Unfortunately things often don't go according to a plan with the elderly and Atria doesn't have flexibility to adjust their care packages when things go left. I now know not all places are like that.

We recently moved my father in law into a one bedroom apartment at The Atria Longmeadow and the staff has certainly met and exceeded our expectations. I am sure our story is common; my father in law was a fiercely independent man that within a short time span found himself needing the services an assisted living facility could offer. Change is hard. The staff is so kind and patient, they have helped pull him out of his shell with movie nights, sports nights (men’s group discussing all things sports over pizza and wings) field trips to restaurants, and I can’t believe I’m writing this, but he joined in for happy hour in the dining hall to listen to an Irish band. (He is so Italian it isn’t funny) He is making friends and feeling more comfortable as the weeks progress. The level of comfort this has given the family, knowing he is in good hands is priceless, and we enjoy our visits and meeting his new friends. Thank you Atria Longmeadow for giving my father in law a wonderful new chapter.

My mom moved into Longmeadow last year and has been very happy. The food is good and there's a wealth of activities - music, movies, crafts - to keep her as busy as she wants to be. The staff is warm and friendly, as well. It's a leap of faith to move into assisted living, but Atria has made this a positive experience.

I recently helped my parents move into Atria Longmeadow. They toured numerous assisted living facilities in the area but liked Atria Longmeadow the best. The facility staff are outstanding and very attentive. The exterior is kept up very well and my parents love sitting in the garden area. The inside is extremely well maintained, clean, smell fresh and the decor is updated. The food is wonderful and the entire kitchen staff are excellent. The bus takes them around to various places like the mall, local ice cream and grocery shopping. The social activities are wonderful, and my parents have many new friends as all the other residents are outgoing and welcoming. My parents also feel well cared for and secure which is very important to me and them. After three months of living at Atria Longmeadow, I asked my folks if they were still happy or should we consider looking elsewhere. They both responded with a resounding "we love it and don't I dare try to move them". For the first time in many years, they were both smiling and were enjoying their senior years. I highly recommend Atria Longmeadow.

When you put your parents in the facility, they sell you on customer service. However, nothing is really made for the elderly. Everything in the rooms are not for folks in wheelchairs, The cabinets are so high, they're not usable. The washer and dryers have a button that you push for detergent but it is up high behind the washer. You have to push teh button on the dryer which is very difficult. The machines are always full. Also, the food is HORRIBLE! The meat is inedible. They had hamburgers and steak tips that no one could chew and folks were choking. When they have something decent like fish, the portions are child-size. Not many healthy choices either. no light ice cream or frozen yogurt, no snacks around so we have to go food shopping. Once you're in there, attitudes change.

The atmosphere at Atria Longmeadow is warm and inviting. Common areas are spacious and the apartments are pleasing. The grounds and especially the back garden are lovely. The staff especially Diane, Melissa and James is respectful but caring too, and always helpful. They have done as much as possible to deal with the limitations of covid. I am looking forward to working with them The first time I walked into Atria I knew it was the place for everyone. In general, the facility is bright , clean, and cheerful, with a great view that provides lovely paintings. The dietary staff aims to please--they will, with a little notice, cook up a favorite dish. And in general, the food is quite good--I was pleasantly surprised-really didn't seem like institutional cooking. The menus are varied, and there are numerous options. The residents seem to be a mixture of people who are mostly independent, and there are quite a few men, which is not the case with other facilities we visited. In all, Atria definitely deserves its 5 stars!

We moved my mom to Atria a year ago, it was a difficult decision, I delayed the move for many months because of my mom's resistance to leaving her home of 65 years, but she was unable to live alone anymore. I visited several Assisted Living places and by far, Atria had the best vibe overall. It's beautiful, safe and clean with a bright and friendly atmosphere. The whole staff is warm and inviting, every time I visited Atria it stood out because it seemed like more of a community with active residents out and about and staff members who truly care about the residents. I know it's a cliche to say they treat residents as family, but they absolutely do; I have seen it in practice repeatedly. It starts with James the Exec Director, and Maggie who is the Activities and Lifestyle Director, the compassion, kindness and caring cascades down through all the ranks. Patty the nurse has frequently gone above and beyond, the aides are some of the finest people I know. It melts my heart to see them interact and take care of my mom in such a loving way; Mary, Martha, Kim and Jessica are the aides I know best, but every employee I have encountered over the past year has been professional, kind and courteous. The front desk staff are an awesome group too, Sydney, Julia, Zara and Ricky, the whole crew are exceedingly helpful and field all my questions and concerns and help provide my mom extraordinary care that comforts her, and us. And shout outs to the maintenance crew too, George, Clay, Edwin and all display the same kindness while taking care of the residents needs. While my mom misses her home, she assures me that she feels safe and well cared for there. As she says, "They all take really good care of me here." Music to my ears.

Before I moved to Atria my daughters took me to other senior living homes. My first visit to Atria felt so comfortable that we scheduled another visit. The facilities and the staff were so welcoming that I decided Atria would be my new home. I moved in three months ago and won’t hesitate to say it was the right decision for me. I feel so at home in my lovely living quarters. I have met so many nice residents here. The numerous activities give me reason to look forward to each day. I am very happy with the many meal options. The staff members cannot be equaled! I am very happy with my decision to make Atria my home.

Making the decision to put our mom in memory care was very difficult. The transition for my mom from home (of 60+ years) to Atria has been very smooth. Mandana who oversees the memory care community is very easy to talk to. She is compassionate and caring to us and the residents. The staff has been friendly and welcoming, and mom always is well taken care of. I would recommend touring Atria before making this important decision for your loved one.

From the wonderful inviting greeting on my way in to the warm, caring staff around the building, it's a pleasant visit each day. I enjoy taking my clients to meals and various activities to see them socialize w/other residents and see how friendly and attentive the staff is in all departments. If I have a question or need assistance w/my clients, I can ask any employee, even if its not their job, they will steer me in the right direction. The dining room staff, the maintenance staff, the van driver, are all wonderful. But there seems to have been an almost complete administrative breakdown lately. Events are schedule and nobody from the staff shows up to lead them. Today--Monday, the second day of the week--there is still no schedule of activities for the week, and nobody seems to know what's going on. the sole administrative person on duty--the receptionist at the front desk-says she doesn't kknow what's scheduled (if anything) or what's going on.

It is not so easy to single out one staff member at Atria Longmeadow. All are conscientious and professional, And to my way of thinking about half would be singled out as exceptional at any other workplace. But Jonathon from out wait staff is simply without parallel. He adds much cheerfulness and quiet efficiency to the dining room. Everything is always good. He will fufill every request he can. Jonathon solves problems without bureaucracy. When a conflict appears likely, he quietly distracts and deflates. And he is unflappavle in the face of difficult resident demands. He is equally generous to his colleagues When his coworkers are busy, he fills in for them at their station without drawing any attention to himself or the stressed server. I hear his colleagues often comment that Jonathon had been at it again “ quietly shouldering a bit of their work. Just today, I heard an administrator who was short handed say that Jonathon had volunteered to come in early to to manage an assignment. And Jonathon does all of this with the most even-tempered disposition I have ever encountered. We all remark at never having heard a cross or a short word from his tongue. His equanimity is the stuff legends are made of. Thank you, Jonathon

My parents have been at Atria Longmeadow Place for almost two years now, and as their needs have increased during that time, they have moved from independent to assisted living. The Atria staff has been incredibly supportive and professional the whole time, which we would expect. But even more than that, they've also been truly caring. In fact, when my father was hospitalized recently and then had to spend a month in a rehab facility, one of the Atria aides came by on her own time to visit him. It meant so much to him and to my whole family.
