I lived in French Manor South from the middle of August until the end of October 2024. I was very comfortable and loved how caring the staff was. Because I left my home of eighteen years, I missed being there and felt I could do ok at home with a little help. BUT, I was wrong and am having a hard time being home alone for many hours a week. Now that almost a year has gone by, I am thinking that I need to return to French Maor South. There is no other facility that I would care to be at.

Highly restrictive environment for competent inmates. Little staff can do to assist inmates as medications ALL Tylenol when needed for example. I was not committed to this institution I came here to continue to recover from a serious infection.

Great staff, rooms OK, came here after nasty infection for recovery. NO mental issues, etc. Staff can't their mouths shut and when you "escape" with family or friends the whole GD world knows. Arrested today because I was out for lunch as calls made that I was drunk and a harm to myself. Boycott at a minimum!!

The staff and administration of French Manor are fabulous. About six years ago, my father-in-law moved into the facility after a period of cognitive decline. The staff provided excellent care for him until his passing. For years afterward, they remembered him and spoke of him in the kind of fond terms that demonstrated the depth of their care for him. About two yeas ago, my mother-in-law experienced a period of cognitive decline but didn't want to leave her home. Matters deteriorated to the point that she was taken to the hospital for treatment -- and they wouldn't let her return home because she was unable to care for herself. Unfortunately, they wouldn't let her stay in the hospital, either. French Manor, with whom we'd been working for months in anticipation of this circumstance, reacted immediately. The Administrator drove -- in her own car and well after business hours -- to the hospital that night to collect my mother in law and take her into French Manor. That's about as "above and beyond" the call of duty as it gets. The care that my mother in law has received since her admission has been exceptional, entirely in keeping with the care they devoted to my father in law. She regularly comments on how kind and considerate the staff members are, which is impressive given her condition. For our part, my wife and I can rest assured knowing that my mother in law is valued and safe, watched over by personnel who care for her as a person and a friend. Again: French Manor is fabulous.

A wonderful place for our loved ones who need more hands on care! My Grandmother lives here. The staff is very helpful and caring. Communication level is very good here as well hands on care! Definitely recommend this place to anyone who needs a place for their loved ones that need just a tad more assistance! Kelly is amazing too and she's always very kind and helpful.

Absolutely horrible. [Name Removed] is a fraud. She hires felons even though she not supposed to. She hired Amy. She’s a pill addict. Disrespectful as hell. also a felon. She tried to threaten me after I told her I’m reporting it. At the moment [Name Removed] is trying to file a police report on me to cover her ass. She lets homeless people sleep on the couch. French Manor is the best. Having to move our mom to any facility is, as most would agree, not easy or ideal. With limited time to do so we were truly amazed it was not the case when we toured French Manor Yellow House in Traverse City. My siblings and I knew almost immediately it was the home, away from home, for our mom. Shes so well taken care of and has adjusted almost seamlessly. From Rusty and Kelly Ackerman to the entire staff, all are there for the residents. Its a genuinely caring and thoughtful environment for those who live there. It absolutely feels like a true home, not a facility. We sleep well knowing shes so cared for and comfortable. Just outstanding. Thank you to all of our French Manor family!

Our mom lived at French Manor Extended Care at 919 7th Street. Due to Covid-19 the visitation rules were changed soon after she moved in. Family and friends were no longer allowed in the home. Visitation was restricted to the front porch only. We were concerned she would feel abandoned. She survived and even thrived under the loving attention from the caregivers. The aids that work in that home are remarkable, nurturing, loving and hard working. The care she received exceeded our expectations.

My Mom has been at French Manor LaFrainer since August 2016. They have done an excellent job taking care of her and meeting her needs. The food service continues to be a challenge for the owners but overall it is pretty good. They have a good mix of activities and entertainment for the residents. Given the overall cost of approximately $4,000-month for full service assisted living it is a value given what other facilities charge in the in area

My dad (Bill Brien) is a resident of French Manor. It has been a great experience for him as well as our family. The staff have all been exceptional in seeing to his needs. My dad is not the easiest to deal with at times and the staff and owners have all embraced him no matter what. That is a blessing for us. I would recommend French Manor to anyone looking for further care for their loved one.

My mom stayed here for a couple months last summer following an automobile accident that left her with TBI (traumatic brain injury). A room with a private shower wasnt available when she arrived, but her private room was clean and nicely furnished. Staff was pleasant and kind, and did their best helping my mom with her rehabilitation schedule and medications. Although the food was a bit bland-institutional (understandable, given the dietary needs of many residents), the cooks were friendly and put a lot of effort into making things feel a little more personalized. Overall, French Manor is a great place for seniors who need a bit of help. Located across from the Munson medical campus, with its trees and walking paths, was especially nice during the warm summer months and contributed a lot to my moms recovery.

My mother lived at French Manor @ LaFranier for about a year. She was suffering from Alzheimer's. The staff and management were cheerful, helpful and very skilled. Good food! Wonderful people. You can feel the love. Conveniently located, nestled in the woods but central to everything. A great value too!

My parents both 99 moved into French Manor Assisted Living and were given more than excellent care. I felt good about about leaving each time I went home, knowing the attention both were given. Staff care was tender and compassionate beyond my wife's and my expectations. Would recommend FM to anyone's loved ones.
