Our mother and mother-in-law lived at Benton House for 5 plus years and loved the management and staff members. My wife and I visit there several times a week and had the opportunity to see and experience the love, kindness and patience of every member of Benton House team members. Our family member passed recently peacefully which was our and Benton House’s goal.

I write this with the greatest gratitude for the staff at Benton House in Bluffton where I unfortunately had to have my beloved wife of 31 years admitted after having cared for her the last 3 years until I was not able to give her the care she needed and deserved anymore. To choose the Benton House facility was mainly because of the conversation I had with Abby, which was conducted by her as I needed it to be in the state I was having to make the hardest decision of my life, having to trust others to take care of my wife. She needed to be in the memory care unit. I consider myself and of course my wife unbelievably lucky and be blessed that this decision was indeed probably the best in my life. After now exactly 70 days not having been able to see her because of various issues, mainly COVID and their internal protocols to keep everyone as safe as possible it happened to be our 31. wedding anniversary that we were able to hold each other again, which was an unbelievable situation, beautiful and also emotionally hard. Having said this , during these 70 days I was allowed to connect with all these wonderful caregivers and management staff, all of them, Brandy, Abby, Sharon and most important the staff in the memory care unit under the leadership of Shakenia with Jackie and Coyia. I am shure there are additional very qualified personnel but I mostly communicate with the above. Until the day I was able to see my wife again, I was treated with utmost respect and courtesy, every phone call, every email and ever inquiry was attended to , I was constantly held abreast of the state of my wife and even pictures and-or videos were sent to me on a regular basis to keep me comfortable as much as possible. Under their leadership and caregivership my wife has progressed in a way I would never have been able to provide. Granted this has been only for but incredibly hard 70 days, but it makes all the difference in both of our lives I strongly believe. All of them make me feel that I will become a welcome part of their family. Incredibly thankful to all of you to help making both of our lives trying to accept this terrible disease as part of our life in the only way possible, dont stop believing and never ever stop loving....... I really believe that the epitome of love is also to let go the person you love most into a better life when her life takes a different direction. I strongly believe shes now in the place she deserves.... Please take good care of her as you did so far, With respect to all of you making the life of my wife Christa as comfortable as possible, Love to you all Rainer

My parents moved into the Benton House just over a year ago. The staff there has become our second family....loving and caring as much as we do. My father passed away in June and this second family was there for us in so many caring and kind ways. Mom is still residing at this beautiful place and the care she is given is outstanding. We are so very blessed by each and every person on staff and are so very grateful to have them in our lives.

How DO they do it! As we end yet another successful year in our relationship with Benton House, we want to thank everyone for all their efforts. Our family member has been a very content resident for 3 1-2 years. Even though we have been pleased from the start, we have noticed that under the leadership of Brandy Gray, all systems are always being tweaked and all staff are continuously rising to the occasion. Where else would my sibling be so happy eating? Where else would someone knock on his door to encourage participation in an activity in which he has previously shown interest? Where else would someone be so observant of physical changes? Where else would someone have so much patience in adjusting a TV gone awry, over and over! And where else would the Executive Director take the time and interest in knowing the needs of each resident? We are so very appreciative of everyones care of, patience with, understanding of, and sincere interest in our family resident, as well as their communication with us. Keep smiling! Keep caring! That makes everyone at Benton House special during challenging years.

I would like to thank the staff at Benton House for being caring and compassionate people watching out for my mom. Benton House has been home to my mom for almost three years and I can honestly say the staff puts all the residents first and works hard every day and night to make sure the residents have everything they need. I especially want to recognize Jackie, Ed, and Skye who I see most first hand and know they have the best interests of the residents in mind all the time. The other aides and med techs who dont cross my path as often also should be thanked and recognized for their kindness and devotion to the residents of Benton House. I count my blessings every day that when I cant provide something my mom needs, Benton House can be counted on to step in and help out. That is a great comfort to me and our family. Thank You and Happy Holidays Mom is a resident of Benton House since the end of May. After having spent two weeks visiting Benton House on a Respite Visit, Mom decided that she wanted to become part of the Benton House family. And family is what the Benton House has become to all of us. The Executive Director, Brandy, is a caring and tireless leader and is never too busy to listen and offer comforting advice. She runs an excellent facility and has surrounded herself with an exceptional staff. It is hard to single out individuals as Mom only has good things to say about everyone-- the aides, med techs, dining, activities coordinators, and laundry, cleaning, maintenance and nursing staff. To the individuals that I have come to know personally and you know who you are…..my sincere thanks. Special thanks to Sharon who is way more than the Administrative Assistant – she always has time to answer questions, both in person and over the phone, and takes the time, no matter how busy she is, to listen and to Jackie, who is caring and compassionate and just exceptional. By no means do I want to miss expressing gratitude and heartfelt thanks to all of the Benton House staff especially to those who touch not only Mom on a daily basis but to those who touch me as well. The staff at Benton House have taken excellent care of my mother and father since I had too make the difficult decision to place them in a facility in 2015. They were always there for my father thorough his worsening Alzheimers Disease until he passed earlier this year, and now take fine care of my mother, who also has that condition and is wheel chair bound, and can be difficult to deal with sometimes. They are always immensely kind to her and to me. The facility and staff are top notch and I recommend them very highly. Eric S. Wiener

Benton house is an absolute pleasure. I feel completely comfortable with my mother in their care. Having dealt with other facilities in the area it is a pleasure to see the same staff all the time. Since it is such a new facility the rooms and building are in great condition and well maintained. I am editing my review. It is a year later and I still feel great about Benton House and its team. I was curious about the few negative reviews they had, and I just want to point out those are obviously not people that have loved ones at Benton House. Being a small business owner I see the pros and cons of social media reviews, and the cons are that anyone can do a review. Read through the lines , if it wasnt for those reviews Benton House would have the 5 stars it deserves

The Staff at Benton House are fantastic and the facility is very well maintained. Its very clean and organized. We were nervous and honestly very unsure of our next steps when we decided to sign my Mother up for the Memory care area at Benton House, but it has turned out very well and it is completely due to the staff. I second all the positive comments about Benton House of Bluffton. My parents have resided there since June of 2018. The memory care and the assisted living portions are excellent. Very kind, concerned, knowledgeable and gracious staff. Very nice dining facilities and social activities. I was made aware of Benton House by a recommendation of a healthcare professional who said the residents she visited there seemed happier than other places she visited. I am grateful for the recommendation.

I was fortunate enough to meet the Benton House team in Bluffton when I needed to provide long-term memory care for one of my parents, and I am not local. The case was especially difficult. My parent presented challenges associated with agitation in their late stage memory disorder. My parent displayed some of those challenges when approached in a particular manner by care providers. The leadership team identified the potential trigger, and rapidly set out a new approach to providing care. Now my parent appears to feel safe and clearly appears less threatened when care providers approach him. Brandy and Abby were a great team getting me introduced to the Benton House remotely. They prepared for the case and provided me hope when it appeared to be running out. Brandy runs a well organized team, and she is a "by the book" lady. Well done.

My mother moved into Benton House's Memory Care neighborhood in early 2017 when my 82-year old father had surgery. Mom had been declining from dementia for several years, and was also at the point in which in-home care was no longer enough; so she stayed on at BH beyond the planned 1-week stay. It's been a long road since, and the team at Benton House have been a 2nd family to my Mother; Memory Care Leader Shakenia has been wonderfully kind and considerate through all of the ups and downs. Executive Director Brandy Gray has been endlessly patient and encouraging with us (Dad & 6 daughters) as we've ridden the often cruel roller-coaster of Alzheimer's with Mom. Almost 2 years later, Mom needs more care than Assisted Living can provide, and we recently moved her to a skilled nursing community. The Benton House memory care team made Mom's move as smooth as possible, and she transitioned easily to her new home; Shakenia even stopped by to visit Mom there after she left work at Benton House that day. We are so grateful to her and the many caregivers who loved on my Mom over the past 21 months at Benton House. Thank you!!

We had a very good experience with Benton House. Mom had a fall then entered rehab, from there we knew that Mom need more care than just living at home with a day caregiver. My sister and I visited and interviewed 3 different facilities in the Bluffton area and decided on Benton House based on cleanliness, attitude of staff and food quality. Mom has been there for three months and we have not changed our opinion. Not everything has been absolutely perfect with some minor issues regarding laundry, but once noted they were corrected immediately. From our experience we would recommend Benton House.

I am very happy that my dad is in good hands at the Benton House in Bluffton, SC! They take very good care of him here! They really care about their residence and provide great care! I know he is getting three good meals, medicine(as directed), laundry is done weekly, deep cleaning,and whatever he needs they see to it that his needs are met. I can’t thank Brandy Gray and Abby Boylston, enough for taking such great care of my dad! They have a wonderful staff! Thank you Sharon and Ed for also helping my dad as needed. Great place!

My 93-year-old mother-in-law has been in assisted living at Benton House for almost two years and my husband and I are extremely satisfied with the care she is getting. The Director, Brandy, is wonderful and willing to listen and take action on any of our concerns. Jennifer, the Activities Director, has lots of fun activities for the residents and is always cheerful. Sharona, the nurse, takes care of any medical needs in a timely manner. The aids are always helpful to my mother-in-law, especially Jackie and Linda. Abby, in marketing, and Sharon, the administrative receptionist, are also very kind. The building and the assisted living apartments are very nice and clean. I would say that the food, both quality and slow service, could be improved, and that is the reason for only giving 4 stars rather than 5. We would highly recommend Benton House.

Beautiful and comfortable place for older adults to live. The Benton house is located in a great section of Clermont, conveniently located close to the Turnpike for easy access to the airport if youre wanting to visit a friend or family member.
