This was my first time in the special care unit, although I've been in the building visiting relatives and friends for many many years. I was very impressed with the visit I had with family members and the Beautiful room he was in. It was spacious with a beautiful windows view and many family pictures were displayed that were very appropriate. I could not have been more pleased with the accommodations for our dear family member.

This place is so amazing! They have such an amazing friendly staff, and they take care of your family members so incredibly well! They are kind and nurturing, and they make sure that all of their residents are comfortable and I couldn't have wished for a better place! Their food is so good and is well above other assisted-living facilities that I have seen! They also have great entertainment as well. One time one of their staff members put together a country swing dancing show for all of the residents and it was so entertaining and my family member loved it! The facility is always well kept and organized! You are always welcomed with a bright and friendly smile and you can just tell that this is a place that truly cares about their residence and making life better for them!! I tell everybody I know about this place and if you were trying to find somewhere that will take amazing care of your loved ones, this is it! Recommend 100%!!

My husband was a resident of the Memory Care unit at Capitol Hill before he passed away. I had moved him to Capitol Hill from another facility, seeking a loving and beautiful environment in which he could spend the last months of his life. The caregivers were the best I've ever seen, truly angels on earth. I visited my husband at different times during the day and evening. Every time I was there, not only did the staff respond quickly and kindly to my husband's needs, but I observed them treating every patient in their care with dignity, compassion, and love. I will be forever grateful for each one of them. They not only cared for my husband, but took care of me as well during the most difficult days of my life.

My mother has been at Capitol Hill Assisted & Senior Living, 76 S 500 E, Salt Lake City, UT 84102for over 2 years and overall it has been a good experience. When I visited last night she got her medication on time, her side was quickly responsive to her and helped her get to bed as soon as she asked. Her aide was pleasant and kind. Her name was Lotus. I was happy to see that interaction.

The staff and passion at Capitol Hill is unmatched. I was able to attend an event with my grandmother in memory care. They had a dance with a live singer, beauty artists, and a beautiful dinner set up. The staff dressed up with residents, danced, and dined with everyone. It was truly special and deeply appreciated that their staff takes the time to plan events like this for the memory care residents. Not many centers would put that kind of effort and compassion into making their residents smile. Thank you!

I am updating my post because I wanted to share my experience visiting Capitol Hill's Family Pie Night. I was so impressed with the entire atmosphere. I could tell the residents were genuinely happy and having a good time. There was a large number of them that spent the entire evening talking and laughing with each other. Many of them expressed to me how much they enjoy living at Capitol Hill and how appreciative they are of the staff that works so hard and consistently to provide them with enjoyable activities. The pie eating contest was the highlight of my evening, made up of 2 residents and 3 grandchildren. It was messy, and so fun! Great job Capitol Hill! I'm so glad I attended!

I literally cannot recommend a better place! The staff is so amazing. They are so nice and caring. They treated my grandmother as if she was their own family member. I have never had a more thoughtful, thorough, eye-opening experience than what I had with Mr. Sean Hardcastle. He listened to my concerns and what the family needed from a facility. Sean was able to give me the ability to "SEE" what to expect! When we moved my parents in, we were skeptical because we expected a sales pitch like every other facility with doubts, but we were wrong. Sean took the time to help them get acclimated and feel comfortable in their surroundings. The team is great, but Mr. Hardcastle introduced himself as family! Sean thoughtfully paired my folks with people with the same interests making the transition so much easier. Living out of the state makes things a challenge. But he gave me faith in his team to provide what my parents wanted and needed. I could never give him the kudos he deserves. My parents LOVE IT AT CAPITAL HILL SENIOR LIVING!!! After looking at several places with my mother, we decided that Capitol Hill Senior Living was the best choice for her. The facility has a very home-like feel with all the amenities that you need right in the building, including my mother's favorite, the beauty salon. Sean and Carrie made the move in process very easy at a stressful time. The entire staff is super friendly with the residents and family. As a Hospice provider community partner I've had the opportunity to spend time in and see Capitol Hill's in action. Staff is friendly and welcoming, residents are given the best of care, they are happy and engaged, and the building is clean and beautiful. The nursing staff and family advisors are always available to address any questions or concerns, and really care about making sure their residents are happy and enjoy life to the fullest. The actual staff that helps the residents do seem to care. Location is good. Very Expensive for what they get. Food is mediocre cafeteria food, not much better than school lunch. Outdated decor etc. even though they are painting/replacing carpet etc.) Last time I was there was no water in water containers, it was a construction zone etc. Not any nice outdoor spaces. Seems understaffed from a safety perspective. No communication with families about status. Very poor communication. Unclear if new or old management is better, no updates when that occurred. Not flexible. Promises made, not delivered. Feedback is met with excuses and lack of attention. They don't know who contacts with family are. Newsletter/activity emails are not the same as check-ins with family about status of residents. If you have a way to take care of your parent etc. at home, do your best. I wish there was a scenario that was different. I have nothing else in the valley to compare it to. Note that many of the reviews are staff (including one who posted 2x in 6 months) and their family members. As well as people who give it 5 stars but then say negative things? I am sure it could be worse, but mistakes are made, which at this price should not happen.

I was wary of moving into assistedliving and leaving my little house. But I really need 24/hour care, so I chose Capitol Hill. The staff and residents have all been so welcoming to this newb and the staff introduced me to my new BFF, who happens to live only 3 doors away. I'm truly blessed by this friendship. Having my own apartment has made all rthedifference in my still feeling somewhat independent. The food is good, the CNAs are competent and kind. The covid protocols are very reassuring. We get our second vaccine dose in less than a week.

I chose to work here because of the awesome administrator and the welcoming staff. The residents are all so kind and have made Capitol Hill feel like a second home. Need a place to live? Capitol Hill is a beautiful building in the heart of Salt City! I can tell the staff really cares about each resident. The residents have multiple opportunities daily to engage in a variety of activities. The rooms are spacious and each have a kitchenette. To top it off their meals are served restaurant style prepared by Capitol Hills personal Chef. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to retire in style.

I loved this place from the moment I drove in to their front parking lot. The atmosphere was so hospitable. I was looking for a place for my mom, and I knew it would be a fight to get her to go to assisted living. Shes from North Carolina originally and the trees in front seemed very Carolinian. It all seemed so pleasant and just made me feel good. I know that sounds cheesy, but its true. Jano Romero was the adviser who helped us and he really went beyond the call of duty to make sure our concerns were addressed. Not only was it not a fight for my mom to agree to move there, she was ready to move in the next week. We met Brittany, the nurse on staff, also the physical therapist, the chef, and the floor CNA. It is a very welcoming environment and the apartments and very well kept. They dont look like hospital rooms or dorm rooms, they are apartments. Barbecue every Friday and daily activities help everyone to feel included, or not, if they are feeling introverted. I think those who are no longer self sufficient can still thrive in this environment and feel productive. You are not locked into a contract, so if its not your cup of tea, they only require a 30 day notice, not your firstborn son. I didnt feel they were insincere or trying to gauge me on the price, although senior care is pricey. The rates here were pretty comparable to other facilities, and some not as nice. If its time to provide extra care for your parents, (or yourself), make an appointment with Jano—hell make sure youre taken care of properly.

My mother spent the last 3 years of her life in Memory Care and it was such a blessing to our family to know that she was safe and cared for in a way that would have been impossible for us to do at home. There arent enough adjectives to describe how amazing the staff is, especially James. They treated mom as if she were family and they made sure that she stayed engaged and happy during her time there. We highly recommend the facility to anyone who finds themselves in a similar situation to ours.
