They moved my dad due to flooding. They just tossed it in his temp room. I had him moved to the memory care unit. First night they sent him to the hospital for a fall out of bed. They didn't give him the mattress that I bought but a well used that sank in the middle. This is why he rolled out of bed. I had to put pillows and towels under that spot. At that time I went into his room to put things away. I put some stuff in the garbage can. My dad was admitted to the hospital. When he got back I noticed the same garbage in the can from weeks earlier. Just recently, he was in the hospital for 3 wks. He said he hates it. That the dining area was full of garbage and there was no one to talk to. I just played it off. When he returned to Elderwood my sister was there at lunch time. They came and got him 20 min. later that the rest of the residents. My dad had to sit by himself because everyone else finished and left. Hence the garbage my dad talked about. On May 14 I got there at 7am. to find him trying to clean his butt. I called for the nurse. She was limited on towels and washcloths to give him a shower. His room was a disaster. Dirty cloths in a pile on the floor by the front door. A huge pile of items on the bed that only had a sheet. The pics they took off the walls in his 1st room were never hung. They only gave him 1 very small garbage can. I am looking to get him out. At $8900 I should be able to find something. I pay for him to just sit in his room 24/7

The nursing staff, HR, and Director ignore the fact that patients wait 2 to 3 hours for a call bell to be answered, hot water in memory care unit is always brown and has metal shavings in it, techs sit in hallway and discuss drinking, partying, and daring websites while patients need to be changes, medications and call bells ringing. When brought to the Administration, was told it would be handled, however when outside they were discussing (Dan and Cara) how residents should not have visitors and they hate their jobs.

Elderwood Fairport is fantastic. This is due to the the outstanding care and attention that the staff gives to residents. My mom has been at Elderwood for nearly a year and she loves the staff, as do I. I have observed the patience and respect that they show to residents. In addition, the food in the restaurant is excellent. Elderwood seems to attract wonderful people to work there.

Quality care at some of the most reasonable rates in greater Rochester. We have been told new levels of care will soon be available to support residents whose needs go beyond basic assisted living.

My mother-in-law is currently living at Elderwood Village at Fairport. She says she is in the perfect place for her. Prior to covid restrictions we were able to visit in her room. She opted for a double space which allows for a small living room and a bedroom. She has everything she needs there. The people are fabulous. Prior to covid, we were able to sit and visit, eat meals with her, and feel like a part of her life. Covid has changed so many things. With all that, they have been great about keeping us informed.

I liked that when we first visited this community they took us around and introduced us to the entire staff. They explained everything and helped walk me through what to expect. The staff are great with my brother in law. They are always there to help. The administrators are doing a good job. He loves the food and the community is very clean. He likes to play bingo and enjoys movie nights. I would recommend this community.
