I want to thank Director Maria Rivas, Director of nursing Lisa Quiroga, nurse Darlene, and all their staff from the kitchen to house keeping. This place is amazing they go above and beyond to take care of your loved ones needs and wants. They have daily activities with the residents and a month Theme Valentines,St. Patrick's and now Easter. You can't imagine the joy the residents had at their Easter egg hunt. They made beautiful memories together. Thank you to everyone that works here for your daily devotion. Sometimes people don't understand how hard and demanding all these positions are until you experience it will you comprehend what they really do for our loved ones. We appreciate each and everyone of you at SA West. There you are treated like family.

This place is very dirty! The linen is stained with urine and feces. This facility does not have enough pads or chucks so residents are always soiled down to mattress. Many residents have skin rashes open sores. They are always short you never know who is coming in. My biggest problem is the residents DO NOT have a water pitcher bed side they only receive hydration during meals and even at that the kitchen does not supply enough cups or mug's. I don’t know why when the state is called they over look that it’s clearly neglect. Administration is so rude to employees . [name removed] likes to walk around face timing and videoing residents which is violating HIPPA and patients rights. I wouldn’t give any stars like to this facility but only to write a review. This place does not provide enough food on breakfast lunch or dinner plates either it’s so sad the people are always hungry. Corporate should do a pop up without notice to see how this facility really runs.

I learned a lot and was able to get myself back to good health, people here are very helpful at San Antonio West, I would recommend this facility to others that need therapy.
February 2024
Place is trash, starting with the administrator. I stayed there for six months and everything about it is horrible. The staff steals and are on drugs. The cops are always there. The food sucks just like the laundry. Neglect is rampant through out the place. They open your mail . I don't see how they get 4 out of 5 stars ?? Haha they must have the staff rate themselves. If you like being neglected and the smell of urine and your rights being violated give it a go. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone. Just go and visit and observe, they have no shame no empathy ,no skilled nursing , it's a joke and waste of money. Drug infested area too.

Would like to recommend Ratama Manor Nursing Facility For Those Who Care About Their love Ones,All staff Are Kind And Friendly
April 2021
My mother is currently here. They have done more for my mom in a couple of weeks than what her primary was ever able to do. The way they have gotten to know my mom in a couple of weeks, youd think they knew her for years and years. They are attentive. They know when something is off with my mom. They are caring, kind and thorough in the work they do. Christina, Abigail, Lisa, Darlene, Aubrey and the rest of the staff are simply phenomenal. Not only do they provide great care for her, they educate me, listen to me. Ive talked, laughed and cried with these people. This isnt an ideal situation for us, I dont think itd be for anyone...but Im so thankful to have staff at Retama by my side as difficult decisions are being made. They truly feel like an extended part of my family and I will be forever grateful for all theyve done and continue to do.

I recently had two strokes and I did not know what I was getting into or what medical treatment I needed but god sent me here. My brother wanted to move me but I am glad I decided to stay. Everything was excellent and it felt like home. I didnt have any problems with anything. Food was great. Rehab benefited me and the nursing staff took good care of me. Special thanks to Rita, Nissa and Crystal for making my stay here enjoyable. I am getting to go home today but I would recommend this place to anyone.

As you are entering the front door you will feel a soothing atmosphere. As you keep on walking you will find the office of Sherry Rogers she is the director of nursing. Shes a sweet and wonderful person with residents, and the staff. Denise Rios is the administrator. These two people work very pleasant side by side. They can both resolve problems together. They work together as a team. I can honestly say, I have never seen them in a bad day. I can thank God for these two wonderful ladies being here.As for nurse we have many trained RNs, LVNs, and CNAs . The dietician and her staff are very patient and understanding when we change our minds. The housekeepers do a good job cleaning.Therapy is my place of sanctuary I love it. Josie does a great job.Our social worker Joyce is a very good worker. She helps all of us.As far as activities you have to come join us. Volunteers are important to us. Oh before I forget some of our activities are baking, cooking class. We eat what we cook. We made homemade flour tortillas from scratch, pinto beans a la charos. We have church services. We are getting ready for Thanksgiving and we will be making homemade tamales.Jose our maintenance technician is a very sweet kind hearted person. I call him the jack of all trades. He is very pleasant and always says Yes maam yes or yes sir, No maam or No sir. .His assistant Victor is also a very kind man.I hope you can came and join us or even if you wish to come and live here with us you will always be welcome.

Retama Manor has answered our prayers as we were looking for a safe place for my father who is unable to take care of himself. At Retama you will find a staff that is caring, loving, and attentive. The facility is always clean and odor free. We've had the opportunity to meet and get to know many of the employees who go throughout each day with a smile and compassion for all the residents. Thank you Denise, Stacey, Joyce, Sherry, Jacqueline, Blanca, Teresa, Rosie and to all that have helped to make my father's stay comfortable and dignified.
July 2018
I transferred to this facility this passed November and its an awesome place to work. Management team is excellent and really cares for there staff members. Awesome place to gain experience.
June 2018
I would recommend this community. Since I've been here they have helped me regain my strength. The therapy department has helped me walk again. I also love the activities. They have so many different types of activities going on throughout the day. Other communities even come visit and we have bingo competitions against them. My favorite is going out on outings. We vote on where we would like to go during our resident council meeting. We get to go shopping and out to eat at different restaurants. If you need help, give this place a shot!
April 2018
My husband has lived here for many years. He is very demanding but the nurses are always patient with him. Everybody takes good care of him.
March 2018
I admitted to this facility 4 years ago. My stay has been a little bumpy at times. Most of the time I made it bumpy. The nurses have always been good to me. Im treated with dignity, respect and staff is considerate to my needs. When I admitted here I had just had a stroke and I was paralyzed on half my body. Now I can walk, and talk because therapy helped me.
