Reflections Review: this place was such a mixed bag. There are a few amazing nurses I want to say first. Mindy was a stand out. I always knew Mom was good when she was on. Hire her to train the staff and pay her dearly!!! That being said, If you move your loved one in, please get cameras and advocate for your person. It was the most frustrating 2 years of my life! The communication in reflections was extremely frustrating you would ask questions, no answers, would have to call and call. My Mom passed out 3 xs in 2 years because they can't "force them to eat and drink". They left her to walk and walk another patient who clung to her all the time. I honestly could go on and on. If your parent has a less severe illness, find a smaller facility and get on the waiting list! You will never regret it.

When I first walked through Salem Woods with my daughter-in-law, I was impressed with a feeling of welcoming and spaciousness from the folks I saw and areas that I looked at. A smile, a “hello” from people I had yet to meet and make our new home with. It didn’t take long for me to make a decision and return to Pelham and tell my husband. He was not well and had not accompanied me, but made the effort to come to Salem Woods before we made our final decision together. We moved into our new care free one-bedroom apartment home on July 2, 2021. We have two large windows in the living room and two in the bedroom that look out where we can see our car parked and beautifully landscaped grounds. Plants and flowers are on our windowsills. At Salem Woods we found a dining room open from 7: am to 7: pm where we can order anything from a full and varied menu book, or choose from two daily luncheon or dinner specials including a new soup! One does not go hungry! Meals can also be brought to your apartment, or “to go” as the microwave and stove are available in our kitchen area, along with a refrigerator/freezer which are located near the sink. Keeping our apartment clean is not a problem with a friendly housekeeper coming in once a week, changing our bed linens when we want and then putting then through the laundry for us. If desired, our personal laundry can also be done. Every day there is a agenda of a variety of activities, from wellness, recreational and social. Transportation is available for shopping, outings and appointments. You need a picture hung, maintenance is at the ready for that and more. Need a book to read? One each of the two floors is a library full of various selections. A billiard room is often busy and, in the evening, movies are shown. The safety of residents is covered with 24/7 security and staff. My husband and I came in as Independent residents, but with the knowledge as we grow older we might need to change to Assisted living, should the need arise. The staff here at Salem Woods are great, and make each of us feel special. Waitstaff know your name and once they know your preferences at mealtime, come to get your order with your favorite beverage in hand. My husband passed away this year and everyone couldn’t have been more supportive. It was a comfort to me knowing that once I opened my apartment door there was a support team of Salem Woods staff and the residents outside. We have made many friends with a lot of the residents and now being alone, I have one very special person I am close to.

The Residence at Salem Woods is a top-notch facility for assisted living. The facility is clean, well maintained and has the feel of a high-end hotel versus a hospital atmosphere. The moment you walk in the front door you are greeted by a smiling receptionist, and a pristine lobby entrance. To the left is a sitting room where residents can gather or simply read a newspaper, and directly ahead of you is a small library and sitting room. As you move about the facility you feel welcomed by everyone you meet. By the time my wife and I left after our unscheduled site visit, we knew this was the place for my mother. My experience is mostly with the memory care unit, Reflections. My mom has Alzheimer’s and has started to need daily assistance we could no longer provide. Since moving in I have seen her start to thrive once again. The staff keeps her engaged and active and knows how to calm her when she gets anxious. Their hands on approach and timely responses have been exemplary. I can’t speak highly enough about the entire staff, including the nurses, aids, administration, maintenance, food service and general support. Each person we have dealt with is professional and courteous. I even paid close attention to how the staff interacts with the other residents and it’s obvious they really care. I know that my mom is safe and well taken care of. Their communications with me have been exceptional. I can speak face to face with all the staff to get updates on mom’s care and progress. They also keep me informed through phone calls and frequent e mails, which I really appreciate. If I have any questions I can call or be able to speak directly with the floor nurse who always has the answers to my queries. The same can be said about any of the administration personnel. The aids all know who my mom is and can answer any questions I may have. I feel honored to offer my complete recommendation to The Residence at Salem Woods.

I can't say enough positive things about my family's experience since having a loved one join the Salem Woods community recently. This was our first time time exploring an assisted living option and once we found Salem Woods, we knew we found a home for Dad. Everyone at Salem Woods has been fantastic - from the orientation, the nursing staff, the Resident Care Directors, the facilities and maintenance staff, the food service - all of them. They have made our family feel welcome since day one and going to Salem Woods to visit is now just a natural part of our routine. I don't think you'll find a nicer, happier, well-organized and personable place for your loved one in Southern New Hampshire - we're very happy with our decision.

The COVID crisis sent everyone in the world into a talespin! It was so hard not to see our Dad however The Residence at Salem Woods worked with us to make it possible. Our family started with a banner we taped together that our Dad could see from his window to communicate to him how much we loved him beyond the phone calls. Dad is not into computers as he was before and shunned the thought of an IPAd for us to facetime with him. The staff went above and beyond by sending us pics of numerous event they hosted internally to keep the residents engaged with their new family - Shari, Daisy, Barbarajean, Rachelle, Salem Wellness staff, the culinary and housekeeping staff, and the behind the scenes great folks that made it all amenable! Thank goodness for the great efforts taken to keep to keep all the residents of Salem Woods SAFE. God bless you all! Reds entire family!

Mom moved to Salem Woods almost a year ago. We and our Mom have been so impressed with the attentiveness of ALL of the staff members. They treat my Mom with such kindness and respect always. When there is any issue it always gets resolved without hesitation! We are so glad we made the decision to have Salem Woods take care of our Mom.

I am a nurse here at Salem Woods. I have been employed here since prior to the doors opening. I have never had a job that was so rewarding. The residents are like family and I enjoy spending time with them. I also work with the most caring individuals. I would want my own parent here. My Executive Director is such a caring and devoted woman. She will assist with any task without hesitation. She is a team player. I am so grateful to have her on our team!!! My nursing director is devoted, caring, I have learned so much from her. I wouldnt want to work under anyone else. I plan on being here a long time!!!! Great company to work for they care for their employees.

Salem Woods is a great community for loved ones, filled with hard working, caring Healthcare Professionals. While pursuing my Degree in Education I worked in the Reflections neighborhood as an Engagement Assistant. I was provided with complimentary training from LCB for Dementia Specific education. This felt like a great investment in me and that they truly care about who they allow to care for their Residents. I really liked that they educate and support first responders and the community about Dementia, approaches, and the trends we will be seeing progress. Like in any healthcare environment there are always an array of challenges. But I felt like LCB gave ME the tools to problem solve, think outside the box, and create positive outcomes. I wish I had more time to continue my work at Salem Woods but I am grateful for the knowledge, experience, and friends I gained.

Thank you very much. I am on my feet again and able to go home. Your temporary rehabilitation program (60 days) restored my strength and self-reliance. The intense physical and occupational therapy programs run by dedicated and competent therapists, the kind support I needed, the calming atmosphere, the helpful staff and last, but not least, the good food and service, all were there. I just toured this facility. I will be needing an independent living facility when I retire and I love NH. Jeff, the head of food design and creation was my tour guide. It was the best choice for me. I want my food to have flavor even when I am too old to know what I want. Jeff not only gave me a great tour, but spoke to me about all the choices the residences get with food. Anytime dining is such a plus for independent seniors. We can enjoy our meals on our schedule and preferences not the facilities. The rooms were well sized and the place very clean and cared for. Gardening, painting, a fireplace and billiard room are all available. When my time comes this will be at the top of the list.

AMAZING and compassionate staff - the administration, wellness, engagement, and facilities management all sincerely care for the residents at Salem Woods. My parents have been in assisted-independent living for several months and they and our family are super pleased. The onboarding was extremely smooth, theres activities everyday for residents, meals are delicious and the residence itself is gorgeous. We researched for a year before making the decision and are glad we went with Salem Woods. They are like an extended family to us.

My wife Mary Jane and I have lived at The Residence at Salem Woods for six months now. We visited several other facilities before choosing Salem Woods. They were all OK but Salem woods seem to offer more. We are very happy with our choice. The staff is excellent. Regardless of someones job or position they never refuse to help you and if they are not qualified, they immediately find someone that can help. They have a cognitive care section that I take Mary Jane to when I cant be with her. I know she is safe there and they are always doing something for entertainment. I would highly recommend The Residence at Salem Woods, Salem, NH. My Aunt has lived there since it opened. We had visited several facilities and this one truly was the best. The staff is truly superior. Shari, Brittany, Katrina, and many others are always available to help the residents as well as the family. They have a great medical staff as well as a staff for general repairs. I am there quite often and am always treated with respect and always get answers. I thank all the staff at the Residence.

We thoroughly enjoyed our month-long stay at the Residence at Salem Woods. We were surprised by a lovely welcome with a bouquet of red roses and Happy Birthday balloons! The facility itself was comfortable and attractively furnished. Outside, my husband was happy with the trail around the building which he walked daily, weather permitting. The landscaping was lovely! The overall design was esthetically pleasing and well maintained. From the top, Shari and Brittany, through the whole staff, everyone treated us with warmth and respect. The general approach was extremely personal, everyone was on a first name basis. Food service offered an ample menu available all day and it was good! Every morning there was an exercise program designed for seniors and at other times tai chi and yoga as well as many other activities and trips. I have been employed as the Resident Engagement Director for this community since we first opened in April of 2016. LCB is a great company to work for and truly values their associates. Salem Woods feels like a second family to me. Our community is not only beautiful but is warm, welcoming and active. Residents are very engaged and always laughing. Because I spend my days with our residents I often hear how our community and the associates in it changed their lives. CAN'T SAY ENOUGH ABOUT THE RESIDENCE AT SALEM WOODS ,A PLACE YOU WOULD WANT TO HAVE A DISTRESSED LOVED ONE. THE FACILITY IS RELATIVELY NEW IN A RURAL SETTING. IT OFFERS ALL THE AMENITIES THAT YOU COULD WANT SUCH AS CLEAN LARGE ROOMSWITH PRIVATE SHOWER. THE MOST IMPORTANT PART, HOWEVER, IS THE STAFF WHO ARE ATTENTIVE AND FEEL MORE LIKE FAMILY. there ARE MANY I COULD MENTION, BUT IN PARTICULAR ARE KATY, THE FLOOR DIRECTOR, ROSA, AN AID, AND SHARI, EXEC DIRECTOR. I HAVE TO MENTION BRITTANY TALBOT. SALES DIRECTOR ALL THESE PEOPLE WENT ABOVE AND BEYOUND WHAT THEY HAD TO DO. KATY FOUND THAT MY WIFE NEEDED A BETTER WHEELCHAIR FOR HER LEGS AND A BETTER HOSPITAL BED THAT ROSE UP FOR HER HEAD IN BACK AFTER A YEAR, MY WIFE FINALLY WENT DOWN HILL AND PASSED AWAY WITH DEMENTIA. I FEEL THEY DID EVERYTHING THEY COULD TO HELP HER..KATY AND ROSA EVEN SHOWED UP AT THE WAKE.

My father in law stayed here temporarily to give us a break and it was a wonderful experience. We were truly able to enjoy ourselves not having to worry about him. During our stop ins we were so glad to see that his appetite had improved, he was more involved in different activities, and most importantly well cared for. The staff were friendly and helpful and he got to enjoy outings where on past occasions at home we were unable to do so. We still enjoy visiting occasionally for different events they have. We look forward to having him stay there again soon.

Salem Woods is a beautiful community. Their team of professionals provide the highest quality comfort, care and safety for their residents. The anytime, chef-prepared dining from 7am-7pm is always a nice touch. When you look around, there is a sea of happy smiling faces and activity. My husband is so happy living in the memory care "Reflections" neighborhood here. All our friends have commented at how he has improved with the social interaction and is thriving in his new home. The care is amazing, great activities and delicious food. Even though this was a difficult and scary decision for us, it has been for the best. We spend so much more quality time together. I have peace of mind that he is well cared for 24/7. The family atmosphere is evident from everyone - from reception, dining staff, resident care professional and the management. Thank you, all!

I highly recommend the Residence at Salem Woods. From the moment my family and I started our search to find a place for my Dad, who has Alzheimer's, we were made to feel at ease having had all of our questions answered regarding what type of care he would be given. Brittany,Sam and Kyla thank you so much for all the timely answers and the patience you had with my siblings and I, as we were needing to make such an important decision.My Dad is in the "reflections" part of the building.... my words can't begin to express the gratitude I feel toward the nursing staff.I am there often visiting, I leave there feeling so at ease that my parents(Mom has recently moved in as well-on the assisted living floor) are getting the best of care and in a beautiful, clean, loving environment. From the minute that I walk in the front door, the receptionist(Lynn and coworkers) make me feel like I'm family as well. They are so in tuned to what is happening each day, where my parents might be participating in an activity, and sometimes I'm even privy to some of the funny chats they've had with my parents.
