My mom lived at Sunrise Basking Ridge for 7+ years. During those 7 years she regressed from living independently to memory care and then finally to hospice care. I was always very happy with the care my mom received, and how I was treated as a frequent visitor.

Sunrise is a very special place. My father has been a resident for a just over a year and he is so comfortable and at home there. This is owing to the genuine attentive care he receives. It is a very homey and clean environment with kind, competent and respectful staff that anyone would wish to have as their loved one's caregivers. I am so grateful for the high degree of communication, kind sentiments, and respect shown by Ashley Traynor, the nurses, and the conscientious and hardworking staff at all levels. Whenever I walk through the doors to visit, I can feel the safe and inviting environment that reminds me how pleased I am to have picked Sunrise for my father. Thanks Sunrise!

Ashlee Traynor, Assisted Living Coordinator at Sunrise in Basking Ridge, NJ has provided hands-on, personal care for my parents since she came to my parent's home for the Sunrise Intake Interview. Ashlee has a very demanding and responsible job providing for the custom needs of each of the residents. She is dedicated to training and managing the caregivers who provide the daily care of each resident. She cares deeply and is devoted to the well being of each resident. She meets regularly with family members and residents to address concerns and adjust care needs of each resident on a weekly and monthly basis. I would recommend Sunrise Assisted Living in Basking Ridge and trust the care of my parents to Ashlee and the Sunrise staff members.

My sister Linda and I are very pleased with Dad’s care at Sunrise. From day 1, Ashlee Traynor explained to us what to expect as ‘phases’ or milestones with respect to Dad’s integration into the community and 8 months in we are reflecting back on how accurate she was. Dad is doing so well and has adjusted fine to staff and surroundings. What is important to us is the level of communication. Ashley reaches out on a regular basis to discuss her and the staff’s observations and to listen to our questions or concerns and has partnered with us to help things go as smooth as possible. The nurses and all the staff are great and are genuinely attentive and responsive to Dad’s needs. We are so grateful he is content in a safe, pleasant and secure environment. Thanks Ashlee and team!

The Sunrise community has been so great for my mom. Along with the many activities, good meals and a comfortable room the employees are great with mom. Every time we need special care for mom it is always completed quickly with very thoughtful employees. I have complete confidence in Ashley Traynor. After 93 years, my dad spent his last days at Sunrise of Basking Ridge and I couldn't have been more pleased with how comfortable, caring, and easy those last days were. The room he had on the first floor was spotlessly clean, fully furnished (he was there on their short-term stay program), and every single person I or my family interacted with was helpful, friendly, and compassionate. I do want to call out Paulina Pinzon for doing an absolutely fantastic job getting me the info and details I needed, staying in constant communication, and being one of the most pleasant people on the face of the earth. The executive director, Katrina Labayen made herself available when needed and provided helpful input on hospice, and clearly does an outstanding job overseeing the whole place. Beverly Howard, the head nurse, took time to make a trip to the rehab facility my dad was at for an assessment, repeatedly checked in on my dad after he moved, and answered numerous of my questions along the way. Dawn (I didn't get her last name, I'm sorry!) was also amazing. She went above and beyond the call of duty to help make the room comfortable and peaceful, in addition to also repeatedly checking in with me and my dad. Of the numerous aides that helped us, Casseline was such a pleasant and kind young woman, I was alway happy when she would appear in the room (which she did frequently). Luis who does all the facilities and maintenance stuff was readily available and incredibly friendly, always with a cheery disposition and a friendly smile. There were so many other people there that gave me and my dad a huge amount of support including Tracy and Ben from the nursing staff, that I'm so very happy to have made the decision to move my dad there for his final days. Sunrise also worked very seamlessly with the Hospice provider so I didn't have to worry about anything and could focus on spending the time with my dad. While he was only there for a few days, we didn't have much chance to experience so many other things that would normally go into an assisted living stay, but if they're anywhere near the level of care we got, I'm confident they'd be excellent. All the residents that I saw and talked to also seemed to be in good spirits and well cared for.

The staff is great - I mean REALLY GREAT! The facility is well maintained. Sadly the food is terrible. Very limited selection & the quality is poor. We've mentioned our concerns numerous times but there seems to be no commitment to improving the food. We just buy our mom yogurts & bring her take out, or, now that we are able, we take her out. But for the daily rate to be what it is and to have to supplement her food on top of it is really aggravating.

My mother recently moved into the Sunrise of Basking Ridge. The place is clean, the food very good but most important, the staff is caring excellent. Stacy in sales, Tiffany the director, Africa the activities director, Beverly the nurse, Louie in maintenance Belkus in Care Mgmt have all gone out of their way to make the transition for my mom (during Covid restrictions) that much easier. When the time came two years ago, it was heartbreaking for my mom to leave her home of nearly 60 years - the place where she and her beloved Jim raised their girls and were loved in both the Waldwick and St. Lukes community. That said, the staff and the residents made Moms transition easy. Even during through the COVID crisis, Mom is thriving. While she misses home, she has embraced Sunrise as her home for this chapter of her life. Mom loves the staff who are warm, kind, and caring. As she says, Everyone is great here. I havent one complaint and thats saying a lot coming from me.

I was provided a tour of the facility, as I consider how to provide care for an elderly relative. I was greatly and happily surprised by the evident quality of the care and the pleasantness of the services and surroundings. It must be a joy to live there.

All the care providers are very caring. There are many activities and events to keep residents engaged and family is always welcomed to participate. Everyone on staff including management make the resident feel like family. Management also provides activities for staff which is important for retention.

My mother has been a resident here for 11 years and has received excellent professional care. She progressed from independent living and is now in the Reminiscence section of the facility. She always maintained a very active, and engaged lifestyle and Sunrise was able to keep her busy and happy. Now that she requires more physical attention, Sunrise is able to provide her with that as well. My mother was a nurse, and I am a nurse. We have seen both sides of healthcare. A sign of a good facility is staff longevity. Many staff members have been there since she started. Her aides are devoted, warm, kind, attentive, and caring. I can't say enough good things about Sunrise and the staff. I highly recommend it.

We toured this community for care. I did not like that my mom would have had to be on the third floor. We did not see a menu. We know that they do have a lot of activities that would have been offered to my mom. We would recommend that other family.
