My parents moved into Portland Place April of 2021. Though dad passed 4 months later mom is still a resident there. It is a wonderful, caring and compassionate place for my mom to live. My mom frequently has told us how happy she is living there, that she feels well cared for and even loved by the skilled and caring staff beginning with receptionist/goddess Vicky. My sister has been in residence for 2 years. She is well taken care of by staff and nurses who keep me informed of health changes as necessary. Vickie at the front desk is knowledgeable and either knows the answers to your questions, can find out the answers for you or can point you in the direction of the answers. I would recommend this facility to others. I give it 4.5 stars only because there is always room for improvement and I rarely give anything 5 stars.

Portland Place is a wonderful place to bring your loved ones. The staff is always laughing and having a good time with the residents. From the time you step in the door, you will be greated with a smile from the young lady at the front desk, Vicki. She is amazing and can answer your questions. If you are looking to place a family member, but they are not ready for a nursing home, this is the place for them.

Portland Place is hands down the best and most affordable senior community around. Fully staffed with caring and attentive professionals. Residents are kind, welcoming, talented and overall a lot of fun. Small enough that everyone is treated like family. There are a lot of activities, outings, live music events and family gatherings to enjoy.

Recently our father/grandfather had the opportunity to have respite care at Portland Place. He was part of their family for two weeks to gain strength from a fall. During the second week he started physical therapy under the care of The Ohioans Home Healthcare. We met many wonderful residents, and found the staff to be very supportive and welcoming to family involvement. The resident halls were quiet, but allowed for opportunities to get to know others. Dad enjoyed Henry the resident cat. I would highly recommend Portland Place for short and/or long term care.

Mom moved in about a month ago. Everyone has been friendly, helpful, caring. If I have asked a question, they answer positively, and follow through. She is pleased with the food, they even arranged to have the breakfast cereal for her that she has eaten eaten every morning for 40 years. Nurses are helpful and friendly whenever I have talked with them. There has not been a staff member from assisting staff, nursing staff, management staff (I hope I didn’t miss anyone) that has not made time to check in on her to be sure she has what she needs and is comfortable.

I would HIGHLY recommend Portland Place Assisted Living to anyone who is looking for a place for their loved one. We had to put my dad into an assisted living and the Staff and workers went above and beyond taking care of my dad before he passed. Portland Place staff is the best Staff (and workers) we have ever worked with! Prior to my dads arrival, the Staff explained everything in detail and what to expect and answered every single question we asked. When my dad passed, the Staff still assisted us with whatever we needed and even cried with us!. It is a shame that this place is being over looked when it should not be. To anyone who reads this, take my word please give this place a try and do not over look!

Where do I start? The Portland Place is a gem that shines so bright! So much love and care from the staff that cares for our loved ones. My family decided to bring my dad to Portland Place on January 4, 2020. For the 21days my dad was there, the staff took care of my dad. His room was always clean as well as the bathroom and his clothes and bed sheets were cleaned and put back in place. This place has so much to offer. My familys favorite night was Family Night. We had so much fun singing Karaoke songs and ending the night with my 9 year old daughter requesting everyone to join her and sing, Oh Susannah. All the residents did. My dad passed on January 25th, 2020 and though he was there a short time, he felt blessed for such a great wonderfull staff taking care of him. Thank You
