I’m amazed by Kensington Park. For reference, this review is for Groves (memory care). We used to have my grandmother in Brightview Woodmont, but when it became Modena Reserve, the quality and care decreased immediately. We moved her here, where she’s so much happier. The staff are amazing, and truly friendly, and the grounds are incredible. The building is stunning. I always think of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort when I see it. There’s a beautiful garden outside. There’s a view of the middle school track, which, at least for my grandmother, who loves kids, is amazing. There’s a beautiful wrap-around porch where activities take place. And for activities- at any one time, you’ll see people relaxing in the TV room, lobby, and drinks area, out walking the grounds with staff, exercising or reading in the sunroom, napping on the sofas, or sitting with staff or music therapists on the porch or gardens. There’s always guitarists outside, pianists at the grand piano, or other music around. There’s even a summer concert series in the parking lot with local bands! The security is also good. There’s a concierge, and nobody can come in, or importantly, out, without a keycard being scanned. At Modena, she managed to escape and get down the block before any one even noticed she was gone. Here, an alarm sounds if anyone even tries to open the exterior doors without a keycard. You have to sign in and scan your temperature to enter. The food is good. It’s Sysco, but it’s prepared well, there’s two food options each day so they have some choice, but not too much to be confusing, and their soups/salads are always surprisingly good and hearty. And of course, no review of KP would be complete without mentioning Fidel, the house dog. An adorable little resident-owned dog that runs around the Groves building loving on everyone. All the residents, staff, and guests seem to adore him. He’s intrusive in activities, but in the best way. The staff keeps an eye on him and makes sure he isn’t fed anything dangerous and that he’s treated well. And the price is steep- $15k a month- but it’s so worth it to make my grandma so happy. Kensington is an amazing place. Beautiful, great activities, live music, and perfect for both residents and family/friends. My grandmother is so happy there, and I’m so glad we moved her over.

The Memory Caf© at the Kensington Senior Center is a wonderful program that I attend each month with my client Aleksandar. The activities are always enjoyable and engaging, whether it’s music or art. The staff are incredibly kind, welcoming, and attentive, creating a warm and supportive environment for everyone. The lunch provided is a lovely addition, and it’s amazing that this program is free to attend. We always look forward to coming and are grateful for all the care and effort that goes into making each Memory Caf© such a positive experience. Highly recommended!

What a phenomenal day at Kensington Park Senior Living! Girardi Associates and Jake Butt from GxP Solutions had the absolute pleasure of hosting a "Fun with AI" session for the Smart Senior Series at Kensington Park Senior Living. To say we were blown away by this community would be an understatement. These seniors brought so much insight, curiosity, and brilliance to the discussion. We so enjoyed the conversation, we simply did not want to leave! A massive thank you to Kate McGloon for opening up your vibrant community to us and creating space for this event. It is incredibly rewarding to share how technology can connect us all, across every generation. Thank you to everyone who spent their afternoon learning and exploring with us!

For seven years I have had the experience of witnessing the wonderful care my uncle received as a resident at the Woodlands. I have been impressed by the concern, hospitality, dedication and personal interest shown by the administration, nurses, aides, cleaners and kitchen crew. I saw their care and concern expressed as a dedicated ministry focus, not just as a "job". I am grateful my uncle was able to die in this atmosphere instead of being in a hospital.

My mom spent over a year in Kensington Park’s Memory Care and was treated with the utmost care and compassion. She was lovingly cared for by both their nursing staff and personal care team members as well as by the various members of the management team who are hands on and consider themselves part of the care team for every resident. Everyone greeted my mom and our family members visiting her with warm, genuine smiles and spent time looking out for our needs as well as our mom’s. We found everyone we encountered to be professional, kind, supportive, loving and good at their jobs. To share an example of their stellar care, any time snowy weather was forecasted, we would get an email from the Executive Director letting us know that they were ready for the incoming weather. She told us they were preparing the sidewalks and drives and were ready to plow snow. They didn’t discourage visiting but wanted us to be safe and to assure us that they had our loved ones taken care of “ with backup medications, food, generators and care team members on hand - so that we didn’t need to worry. In fact, during this past winter with the huge ice storm that closed down roads, school and some workplaces for close to a week, KP had about 75 staff members who stayed overnight for 2 days so that our family members would have people to care for them and so that their team members would not have to travel in hazardous conditions. They had mattresses set up for their care team members, fed them and made it a festive slumber party, all while ensuring everyone who was working was able to care for our loved ones. I cannot say enough good things about the people at Kensington Park Memory Care - the management team, the nurses, the care team members, the activities specialists, the kitchen and dining staff, the maintenance and facilities staff. They really are true to their mantra that they love and care for your family as they do their own.

Kensington Park does an outstanding job for not only their residents but the entire community. Their dedicated and caring staff provide not only physical and mental support but outstanding educational and recreational events. Their recent Cherry Blossom event was exceptional and and we not only enjoyed Japanese cuisine but even learned how to make sushi. If you live in the DMV check out KP.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about the Kensington Park community. Moving a parent is never easy, but from day one, the staff made my mother feel genuinely welcomed, respected, and at home. The transition was smoother than we ever expected, and that’s entirely thanks to the warmth and professionalism of everyone there. The facility itself is beautiful, clean, and offers my mom the homie feeling she was seeking. The activities and social opportunities have also been amazing. My mother is more engaged now than she has been in years, there’s always something going on, whether it’s group events, fitness classes, or casual social gatherings. It’s been such a joy to see her making friends and enjoying herself If you’re considering a senior living community for a loved one, I wholeheartedly recommend Kensington Park. It has exceeded all of our expectations in every possible way.

My dad spent the final 7.5 years of his life at Kensington Park Senior Living. He experienced the Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care facilities. He was treated with the utmost care and respect at all 3 facilities. Each facility was always clean and well maintained. My dad really enjoyed the variety of activities & food, as well as the environment & people. As a visitor, management and the staff made me feel welcomed and comfortable. The entire staff is dedicated and truly compassionate. The Caretakers at each facility are true angels and did all they could do to take care of dad. Communication was outstanding - I was consistently kept informed of my dad’s health and well-being. I appreciated that they had my dad ready to be picked up when I needed to take him to an appointment or an off-site family gathering. My dad was blessed to be part of the Kensington Park family, and we were comforted knowing he was in good hands at Kensington Park.

Our Mom spent the last 10 years of her life at KP and probably would not have lived to 96 if it wasn’t for their remarkable staff. Mary, the Director, and all the staff really have created a family environment that is so caring and welcoming not just for the residents, but their families too. I can’t say enough good things about KP. I would give 10 stars if it were an option.

Kensington Park is a special place and will forever hold a part of my heart. For the close to two years my parents lived at KP, the KP team not only took such loving care of my mom (who was in late stage dementia when she moved in), but provided grace and patience in supporting my dad (who lived in the Highlands during this time period) while providing extensive emotional support to me and my other family members. Dementia is a difficult disease and the KP staff across the board” from to Mary, Christina and the other administrators; every single caregiver-too many to name, to Jamie and her nursing team, to chef Morissa and her team; to the housekeeping and security teams) were angels- amazing, patient, kind. They made one of the most difficult time periods in our, and my parents lives, as easy as possible. The weekend my mom passed, my siblings and cousins came to town, and seven of us were by her bedside in the place she considered her home when she peacefully took her last breath. I don’t know any other place that gives this much support and love. And sadly, with many of our friends in similar situations with loved ones needing extra care for physical and cognitive conditions, we have seen quite a few terrible places- places where the staff doesn’t know the names of the residents, where residents eat and stay in their rooms instead of spending time with others, where the environment feels sterile and the place smells funny, and staff does not pay attention when a resident is asking a question. We picked KP for memory care, but the highlands community is also a great place. community members are friendly and fun to talk to, and have such interesting stories and backgrounds. Is everything perfect at KP? of course not. Life isn’t perfect; each one is has our own tastes and preferences. And if your loved one has dementia or other cognitive concerns; nothing will take that decline away. But I can safely say that without Kensington Park the last few years would have been much harder, and my mom’s passing would likely have been more frought and filled with anger. One last note- I spent a lot of time with my mom when she lived in KP and saw firsthand that the KP team treats all residents with respect, dignity, and love. This is in stark contrast to other senior care communities where the love comes out only when a family member is around their resident. ultimately, KP may not be the right fit for every person, but for my family, KP was a godsend, and I am so thankful a neighbor recommended the community to us.

The staff at Kensington Park are so loving and kind. The residents had blankets over their laps (it’s freezing today!!) to stay warm, and a sweet little dog was sending me off with a happy tail as I left.

The Community is beautifully decorated for the Christmas season. I’m welcomed by the concierge . Employees welcome me and they don’t even know me so I feel welcomed. The residents are eager to get where they want to go with a certain enthusiasm and a smile on their faces. They have certain pals to sit with in the Dining room. The common areas are open and roomy for a crowd. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and conducive to taking a walk. Overall a beautiful welcoming community.

The Highlands staff is the best! The greeting is so warm when II walk into the building that I feel like I am walking into my Mom’s home the minute I enter the Highlands, well before I get to my Mom’s apartment door. Janet Goldberg has provided such great support in dealing with issues in accommodating a very elderly parent that she feels like a sister. I was able to spend some quality time with some WW2 and Korea Conflict veterans going over my recent career in the US Army as a pilot. Your staff celebrated Mabel’s birthday with a large Happy Birthday Mabel Banner and a Happy Birthday pin, and special attention to us as visitors by guiding us to a quiet area to visit with her. They showed individual care for everyone and were gracious to everyone.

I really enjoyed visiting Kensington Park for the first time. It’s a lovely, clean place with warm and friendly staff and it appears to be a tight knit community. The apartments are adequately sized and have a nice layout. The campus’ grounds are beautiful with lots of outdoor spaces for residents and a safe neighborhood for walks. Barbara was so pleasant and helpful as I am trying to learn, research, and navigate this process for my mother. It’s definitely worth a visit.
