I can't say enough wonderful things about Oakmont of the Lakes! My mother has been a resident here for over a year now and it's been an absolute game-changer for our entire family. From the moment we walked in the door, we were greeted with warmth, kindness, and a genuine concern for my mother's well-being. The staff is exceptional (especially a shout-out to the morning Med-Techs and the director) - always going above and beyond to ensure that every resident feels loved, supported, and cared for. The facilities are immaculate, modern, and beautifully decorated, making it feel like a true home away from home. The activities and events are engaging, entertaining, and tailored to meet the diverse interests and needs of the residents. But what truly sets Oakmont of the Lakes apart is the compassion, empathy, and dedication of the entire team. They take the time to get to know each resident as an individual, understanding their unique needs, preferences, and personality quirks. I recently took my Grandmother to go visit Oakmont of the Lakes to see if this was the right fit for her. Since losing my grandfather 2 years ago. She has been staying with me which I love having her with me but with my crazy hours, it was tough. My grandmother and I Felt it was time to look into assisting living. Due to her being almost 90 she wanted to keeps up with her wits. We got to meet the Executive dDrector, Elizabeth Hernandez, which she was an absolute delight, her fellow team was a pleasant to talk to as well, and super knowledgeable my grandmother doesn't open up to changes right away, but it seemed that while talking with Elizabeth a spark was reunited along with fact that she is still close by to me and they special in memory care the atmosphere and facility was absolutely amazing so clean and not like other places where it dull. They truly care about their clients don't just look at them as a number. with that being said, my grandmother and I are excited about her chapter and she is ready to make new friends. 9/3/2024 My friend has been a resident at Oakmont of the Lakes for 1 year now, and she is thriving! I am so grateful for the wonderful team that make her life at Oakmont great, especially her PM Med Techs, Karina and Tracy. I never have to worry about my friend getting her PM meds, because Karina or Tracy make sure she gets her medicine. Karina will go right to my friend's apartment to make sure she takes her PM medicine!! She is absolutely wonderful and I can't thank the both of them enough. Thank you to the entire Oakmont Team for being attentive and kind to the the residents at Oakmont, it does not go unnoticed! I contacted Oakmont at the Lakes for my dear friend and neighbor, about a year ago. Recently, I reached out again, fortunately for me, I was able to speak with Kayla. I gave Kayla my name and she pulled up my name and all the information about my friend and immediately knew what we needed! Kayla has been an absolute God send! Kayla invited my friend and I to tour on a day that they had a function and what an impression! We had the pleasure of meeting the entire Oakmont team! Kayla is one of the most professional, personable, caring, compassionate people I have ever met and is a perfect fit at Oakmont!! My friend is having a very difficult time parting with the home she has lived in for 22 years, but Kayla is also very patient and has found my friend the perfect home in this beautiful community. It has been an absolute pleasure working with Kayla getting my friend ready for this major transition in her life. Thank you, Kayla!

My family member is in the memory care side and the Director there, Melvin Tate, is absolutely fantastic. They are attentive, caring, helpful and always keep me informed. We had a very unusual experience with Oakmont. We toured numerous facilities and had lunch in each. Oakmont was the only one that Dad liked - he's very picky. Just a few days before admittance, he severely declined. We had a meeting with Oakmont's staff and it was agreed that he was no longer a candidate there. One of the colleagues had been a hospice nurse for 26 years and said it sounded like he would probably pass away soon (we'd asked her to be blunt with us and appreciated her experience and insight). She was right and he passed away the very next morning. My point is this: even when it was very clear that we were not going to be customers of Oakmont, the staff took the time to sit and talk with us for an hour. Clearly, they really care about people and you are not just a dollar sign to them. They even hugged us good-bye; we could just feel their compassion. Icing on the cake is that they even refunded our deposit, which is usually non-refundable because they'd held the room for Dad for a week and perhaps could have booked it with another person. The place is beautiful, the lunch was delicious - quite the menu! - the grounds are enough to lift your spirits and, of course, I cannot say enough about Kayla, Dana, Crystal, Elizabeth & Danielle. You won't regret selecting Oakmont on Fort Apache Rd!

I have recommended Oakmont to several people and I can't believe I've never posted here. 10/10 recommend. I had my mom at two other locations before she moved in Oakmont almost two years ago, and it's been a game changer. The communication from the staff is wonderful. I'm always called with a concern and responded to when I reach out. This is a HUGE factor because other properties do not communicate well, and this is not an issue here. I couldn't be happier with the communication, staff, and care the entire team provides for my mom. The relief knowing that my mom is in good hands is worth every penny. The property is beautiful, the garden is lovely, and the food is amazing. The parties that this property holds for its residents is top notch. My mom loves salon days and it's comforting to know it's all in house. I had to coordinate a dr's appointment and it was easily done with the front desk to have her taken and picked up (certain days apply), but they were wonderful to explain the process to me, to make sure I could get it coordinated. If you have someone looking for a place to call home in their golden years, please make an appointment to learn more. You'll be glad you did! Oakmont of the Lakes Memory Care is a wonderful place for loved ones. The staff is truly exceptional, and they go above and beyond to care for each resident. They are kind, compassionate, and patient, and they take the time to get to know each resident individually. I am particularly impressed with the way that the staff at Oakmont Memory Care Facility creates a sense of community for the residents. They organize regular activities and events that are designed to engage and stimulate the residents. They also encourage the residents to socialize with each other, and they provide plenty of opportunities for them to do so. My mother was at Oakmont for several years and I know that she received the best possible care. I highly recommend Oakmont of the Lakes Memory Care to anyone looking for a place to care for their loved one with declining memories. I have collaborated with Oakmont of The lakes for years. It is the most amazing building with the BEST care! You walk in and everyone always has a smile on their face and while walking down the hall, the staff always make the gesture to say hello or good morning etc. They’ve always got things going on for the residents and are very involved in the community! Would recommend Oakmont of The Lakes to anyone looking for either Assisted Living or Memory Care, both programs are amazing! I’d give them 10 stars if I Could. A nightmare! Not a safe place for your loved ones. If I had the option I would give it zero stars! An Oakmont care taker, who left shortly after meeting my 86 year old father with dementia, helped my father demand a divorce from my 88 year old mother (after 68 years of marriage.) She was using his car full time and we had to get the police to bring it back. When the police brought it back, we found personal items that belong to my mother in the trunk. She is currently scamming him and on top of it all has managed to move him out of Oakmont and we believe is now living with him. She hoped and tried to move into the family house with my father, but to no avail. This is only the tip of the iceberg, too many other things she did to cause our family an almost insurmountable amount of problems. Oakmont has taken zero responsibility for this and has done nothing to help our family, the only thing they did at the very beginning was to call their former employee (the scammer) to tell her that what she was doing was not proper and that the family didn't want her around my father. She (the scammer) said she understood but never honored the request. Some of the Oakmont employees were aware of what was going on, but management claimed they were not aware of the situation. Perhaps, like most companies, the employees didn't feel safe to report this as it might cost them their jobs or be reprimanded. Management, like in most companies, they prefer to not hear the truth or bad news. The Oakmont manager insinuated that perhaps this was a result of long time family problems. I'm not sure what this has to do with the situation. Perhaps that was her way to pass-on responsibility, but it was very insulting as she knows nothing about our family. Once again, don't trust this place with your loved ones, they are not protected!

My mother became a resident of Oakmonts assisted living in March of 2020. It was a year that changed our world and made life challenging in ways we never could have imagined. Especially for seniors. My mom had Alzheimers and had no clue as to the reasons for rapid shut down of her new world. But as soon as it was safe to do so Elizabeth allowed me to visit with my mom out front. As my moms disease progressed she became one of Oakmonts Memory Cares first residents. Emily the Memory Care director and her amazing staff along with hospice gave compassion and wonderful care that surpassed that of a family member. They WERE her family and will always be part of mine. When her passing became imminent Emily called me and told me I could spend the day and nite and or however long i needed to or wanted to. on the day my mom passed away i was at her side along with Oakmonts amazing teams loving arms. When its my turn to move to assisted living i wont need to look anywhere else.

WOW......I thank my lucky stars I found Oakmont of the Lakes. I relocated my Mom from New York to Las Vegas (scary). My family researched Assisted Living Facilities for WEEKS and visited over a dozen places. OAKMONT stood out like the SUN in the sky. It was the only place I felt secure and comfortable with. After seeing the newly renovated property (which is GORGEOUS...I should know, I am an Interior Designer) and meeting the team members, it felt like home with family. I'd give it TEN STARS if that were possible. The staff (team members) are ALL the most CARING and KIND people I've EVER met and I mean EVERYONE from the Director to the Maintenance Department, HouseKeeping, Kitchen, Activities and Reception. THEY ARE TRULY "THE BEST"..........Thank you Oakmont

My dear Mom has made Oakmont her home for the last 2 years! It was a difficult adjustment after losing her soulmate after 68 years together! The Oakmont community has become her family. At almost 90 she keeps very busy with the numerous activities every day. She loves doing two exercise classes each day and fits in crafts, word games and story sharing. I can’t say enough about Valerie and her dedication to the residents. Every holiday is over the top with decorations and special fun activities. Sometimes my Mom complains that she is too busy. Ha! She thrives on the social interaction! The live entertainment and cocktails twice a week are great! With none of her 4 children living in Nevada, Oakmont treats us like family too when we visit almost monthly. We stay with my Mom, eat meals in the dining and join her in the many activities! The transition has been much easier for my Mom because of the Oakmont staff. I will be there for Christmas! I know the chef will create a wonderful feast as he always does for holidays! Thank you!

Our parents were married for 68 years when my father died. Mother did not want to move out of their beautiful home because of all the memories they shared there. Oakmont was an answered prayer! Our mother moved to Oakmont two years ago and has been SO happy with the decision. The entire staff is friendly and caring. They all know mom’s name and genuinely care about her well-being. Mother loves all the awesome daily activities! The many activities keep our mom engaged and connected with her friends. My siblings and I travel from out-of-state to visit Mom and are always made to feel welcome. In fact, because of the friendly staff, varied activities, exceptional entertainment and great food, our Mom proudly calls Oakmont Home.

Had to find a place for my mother in law at a last minute notice. Searched out 4 in Summerlin area and found Oakmont right around the corner of her Condo. Met with Melissa which she gave us a tour and we found the place amazing. Melissa showed us around and we felt that this would be a perfect place for my mother in law. Beautifully decorated and maintained. Met Suzanna their nurse and she had done an evaluation on mom in rehab and then again when she moved into Oakmont. Met with Elizabeth and she went over all the cost and living expenses of having mom there. Met with Doris and Janae at the front desk, always greets us when coming to visit mom and getting us in touch with whomever we need to talk with about mom's care. Met Jinky which gives mom her medication and assured us that she would keep her up on her prescriptions. Met Ruben, the chef, first day we were there and told us all about the meal plans and he would supply mom with whatever dishes she would like if it wasn't on the menu. This was a hard decision putting mom in an assisted living place as she has always lived on her own, but coming to Oakmont and meeting all the people that work there and assist mom we made the right choice. Thank you all for what you have done and are doing for mom, so she can live her life productively and enjoying every moment.

I've always been against the idea of placing my Grandmother in a senior community but due to my recent availability with my job schedule, I've had no other choice to weight out the options. Oakmont is actually the second Senior Living community I have visited and I must say that it put my mind at ease and will make our transition easier. I went to Brookdale Cheyenne for a tour a coupe of weeks ago and I didn't find it as warm as the reception we received with Oakmont. The staff at Brookedale seemed "matter of fact" where the staff at Oakmont answered all my question with confidence and put our minds at ease. Beautiful Property, caring staff and a kitchen staff that makes delicious food. This choice will be simple.

Oakmont of West Las Vegas is a fabulous Senior/Assisted Living home! I highly recommend it for others. I lived in this home when it was Atria. Atria was fine - no complaints.However, Oakmont ownership took over in March 2018 and has made marvelous improvements, including culinary, care, welcoming entry, and rearranging the use of rooms. The atmosphere is wonderful -- upbeat and happy. The Executive Director, Ms. Hernandez, has done an outstanding job as she had made positive changes on behalf of us residents. Health care employees do an outstanding job.They are now dressed in appropriate, calming black uniforms that indicate "we are here for the residents", instead of the Atria "red" ones that alarmingly announced "look at me" -- this is an emergency!. Executive Chef Ruben and his staff deliver delicious meals with lots of variety -- prepared in the kitchen and delivered to us by excellent Dining Room Servers. Recently, the decision to remove the Salad Bar has been praised by many of us residents because all other food is prepared for us and delivered to us. Some residents did not respect the Salad Bar and touched food when they could not handle the tongs (for lettuce, boiled eggs, tomatoes, cucumber, beets, carrots, cheese, fruit) or the ladles for the dressings. Because some residents picked up the food, the Salad Bar was not healthy, safe, or free from harmful germs. Now salads are prepared for us in the kitchen, just as the delicious soups, entrees, vegetables, and desserts. Many residents, including myself, love and compliment the new arrangement of freeing up the prior Bistro room for games. The open entry way to Oakmont's Concierge Desk and Living Room now displays and serves all residents and guests with the food from the prior Bistro. It is available and easily seen. These food items include coffee, tea, strawberry or lemon water, pastries, fresh fruit, and salty pre-packaged snacks. We residents love this new location for the prior Bistro food because it is now visible to everyone. The prior Bistro room was not used except for residents picking up food items and leaving the room. That room is now used for games right near the Dining Room -- just perfect. That room can now be used for many other activities. Oakmont's accommodations/apartments are really nice, clean, well maintained, and have all the high quality and conveniences we residents need. I and my Oakmont friends LOVE our home and hope Ms. Hernandez continues to make positive changes for us.

All the currently posted reviews are 4-5 years old and Oakmont has only taken over the management of the place since January 2018. My mother moved in there while it was still owned by Atria. Her biggest gripe at that time was about the food being served. She hardly liked anything. Now that Oakmont has taken over, she misses the old days because the food and service has gone way downhill. The menus sound like they would taste good but the reality is that they hardly ever do. The portions are very small, like for a small child. There are not enough servers and this causes a very long wait to get the food--sometimes up to an hour. It's usually cold by the time it reaches the table. She and her friends there have complained over and over again about the awful food but they are not being listened to. This is really terrible as meals should be something to look forward to instead of a daily disappointment. The lack of service and small portions of bad food sound like Oakmont is cutting corners in all the wrong ways while still increasing rents. I imagine that quite a few people have moved out. My mother probably would as well if she didn't have relatives nearby that take her out to eat and have her over for dinner.

The energy in this assisted living facility is awesome! I usually come once each week and, as soon as I walk in the door to their well appointed facility, I am greeted by Julie at the front desk who is always pleasant and radiates a sincere welcoming smile. Olga Loi, the Engage Life Director, who has a genuine interest in the welfare of the residents and is always in discussions and meetings to answer questions and do whatever she can to create and promote activities for everyone's health and enjoyment. Have I told you lately how much I love this place? I love this place!

Jenny Curry is the most helpful, upbeat, nicest person at Sunlake. She not only does her job well, but, she is willing to help anyone with their job and is willing to help the residents with anything they may need. She always has a smile and a kind word for everyone. I have never met anyone who loves what they do more than Jenny. She acts like she does her job for enjoyment and to see the pleasure others receive from her. She is a very special person in our community. We are very lucky to have her in our community and our lives.

My Dad has lived at Atria Sunlake for over two years now. You walk in and it always has a friendly, uplifting atmosphere. Carol at the front desk, is always very helpful and kind. Donna and Jinky, the med technicians, are both awesome, friendly and helpful. Jason is the best server, he always shows so much caring with my Dad and is friendly. Olga does an awesome job taking care of the activities and decorating and all that she does. She is my Dad's favorite. Overall, Atria Sunlake has been a wonderful place for my Dad and I feel very fortunate that we found it. I would highly recommend this Atria Sunlake.
