Northstar Square has been a godsend for our family. My Father died last August, leaving the family to care for my 86 year old Mother. (They had been married for 65 years.) After reviewing several local Assisted Living facilities, I chose NSS. Mom has a beautiful apartment (full kitchenette and a lot of storage), safety enhancements in the bathroom, windows with a lot of natural light - absolutely perfect for her. The staff are caring and compassionate. They check on her regularly and administer her medication. And, Mom loves the food - which is so important to elder health. Cathy David, Food Service Director does an amazing job planning not only nutritional, but great tasting food. Recently, the facility has been undergoing renovations to the common areas, and it looks amazing. We love North Star Square and feel blessed to have found such a perfect environment for Mom!!!

My time at Northstar Square (I'll just say Northstar after this) has been a great experience. The residence is clean, well kept and the staff works to keep it that way. One of highlights of life here at Northstar is the food. The meals are always good to eat and good to look at. The chef Catherine Davis, who is also the Food Service Director, makes sure that the food is properly prepared and plated in an appealing manner. She keeps up with dietary restrictions for all of the residents. All of the staff are attentive to our needs and go out of their way to make our lives here as positive as possible. Everyone from those who clean, the CNA'S who help with everyday life to those in management positions give us their attention and listen to our feedback. We have a food service monthly meeting presided by Catherine Davis (we call her Miss Cathy) where we discuss our meals and offer suggestions for adding or removing foods, give positive and negative feedback on the way things are going

My mom has been in assisted living here for 3 months. She's happier here than she was at home with me. The socialization with other residents has been great for her. She's enjoying the independence. Her favorite time of the day is Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner!! The food is very good. The Food Service Director, Catherine Davis, is outstanding. She try's to accommodate the residents food preferences as well as ensure their nutritional needs are met. Miss Cathy goes above and beyond. She spends one on one time with the residents outside of mealtime. She's part of the community at Northstar. I'm very appreciative of Cathy, all of the food service staff, nurses and aides. Northstar Square has heart. I'm grateful!

The staff at Northstar Square are the most kindest people I ever met. They truly cared about my mom and she was thriving before her unexpected passing in hospice. The food at Northstar is awesome which is prepared by a chef who owned their own restaurant prior to covid. The nursing staff is incredible and truly care for the residents. The maintenance guy is very helpful and kind. Management is very responsive to requests and friendly. I cannot say enough good things about NorthStar. It is a hidden gem.

I work at Northstar Place, and it is a wonderful place to work . there is a lot of activities to do for the residents period all of the staff here are awesome with the residents . Come check out Northstar Place, it’s a wonderful community.

I moved my mom into this location maybe five months ago. After reading some of the reviews, I’m really shocked that there are so many people that are not happy. The staff is great. They’re super friendly and they look after my mom which is the most important thing to me. She is happy. They have lots of activities and keep her busy. One of the problems that she had was falling, and there have been no falls since she moved in. I would have no problem recommending Northstar Place.

Love Northstar Place! They have the absolute best customer service and make you feel comfortable and safe making the decision to place someone in their care. Mary Cherry at the front desk is so lovely and calls to check on my mom and family frequently! They really do care here and treat everyone like they’re their own family. I cannot recommend Northstar Place or their sister community enough!!

I have nothing but great things to say about the way Northstar place has treated my Dad and I. Since moving my Dad in I have seen great improvements in his overall attitude on life. He has had positive engagement with the staff and residents which has given him a new spunk I hadnt seen in him before. He also says he likes the food, and wants to stay. They let me make his room so personal for him and really made it feel like home. They also were a great comfort to me during the sometimes emotional moments of transitioning my my Dad to his new home. Stephanie was great at communicating throughout the whole process. Reita is in charge of the memory care side and has gone out of her way to make sure I know my Dad is doing well. In my opinion he could not be in better hands. I have met very few people in my life as sweet as her and shes very easy to get ahold of. What a gift to know my Dad gets to see her sweet face everyday. It makes all the difference. Her office is filled with colorful fun things stacked to the ceiling to entertain and warm the hearts of the residents. I dont even know what it all is, but its fun in there! That shows she has a passion for what shes doing and is constantly thinking of ways to brighten others day. One more thing I love about Northstar is that they let my Dad do his thing, and be himself. Hes a smoker, and theyve accommodated that for him. He also likes to clean up in the dining hall because it reminds him of his old job, so they give him water in a spray bottle so he thinks hes helping and feels a sense of purpose. The space itself is clean, safe and quite beautiful with in a really nice area next to the library. I cant say thank you enough to the team at Northstar place for being a rare exception to most assisted living facilities. They are an answer to prayer.

Very pleased with Northstar Place. From the initial time I spoke with them to now the staff have been very pleasant to speak with and they seem to really care about the resident and their family. They send emails with status updates regarding COVID-19 policies and measures they are taking for resident and staff safety. My father is in memory care at Northstar Place and they will call if any issue should arise. I have also called several times to speak with my dad and they are always willing to find him and bring a cordless phone to him so he and I can talk. The facility is also very clean and feels very comfortable. It doesnt look like a typical assisted living-memory care facility from the outside. The inside feels very homey and welcoming. The memory care side seems to really take care of the residents. My dad likes to stay busy so the staff will have him help them out if possible or they will play trivia, go on walks, hang out in the gazebo. They really do understand the needs of memory care patients and those who need assisted living. I highly recommend Northstar Place.

My dad has been in the facility for 3 years. He is very well taken care of and the staff treats him like their own family member. Reita, manager in Memory Care and Stephanie, ED, are always checking in and let me know what is going on with my dad. Since COVID, they have been very concerned for the residents and made sure they have been safe. I wont have him any where else.

I am thrilled and relieved to have my father-in-law staying in this facility. Currently living abroad, the staff has been very helpful and understanding. In the beginning, I called them an insane amount and they were always very patience, helpful, and attentive. Ciara and Stephanie are superstars and have shown that they will do everything in their power to make sure he is taken care of. My father-in-law, originally not thrilled to leave him home, has had nothing but wonderful things to say about the staff. The walking paths are level and paved so I dont have to worry about him falling and there are enough activities and common areas to keep him from being bored. Would highly recommend.
