Spring Mill is such a lovely and welcoming place for loved ones…from the beautiful grounds and buildings and especially the welcoming, warm and knowledgeable staff (especially Janine whom we were working with), it's definitely our first choice for our Dad. We were actually getting things ready for our father to move there, but unfortunately, for the time being had to pause as he's experiencing some new health issues we need to address prior to moving him. Hopefully, though, if all works in getting him through these issues, we will be excited to have him be at Spring Mill! They offer so many different activities and entertainment as well as physical and mental therapies and are very concise and hands-on with their community there. 10 stars!

Not all of us are that happy about Spring Mill. Please notice all the reviews have a 5. All mentioned Janine , I had concerns not just for residents who need help but also the staff . Under staffed in the dining room, while some staff members have unhealthy attitudes about some of the residents. I applaud those who are caring and compassionate. The previous post about a resident who was locked out tells you that the facility has to have a protocol in place and are having trouble doing room checks, and where the residents are at all times. My advice do your homework, it's not all glitz.

When a good friend of mine was diagnosed with dementia and could no longer care for herself, I started looking for memory care facilities. I researched and visited three facilities in the area and Spring Mill stood out head and shoulders above the others. Janine was the first person I met at Spring Mill and she is amazing! She answered every question I had, walked me through the memory care unit, introducing me to management, staff, and residents. She knows every resident personally and showed me all the facilities, activities, dining options, and rooms. Janine is so knowledgeable, personable, and accommodating! Her honesty, experience, and enthusiasm first sold me on Spring Mill. She took time on multiple visits and phone calls to guide me through the application and acceptance process and even personally helped me with the move-in! Janine put me at ease during a daunting and emotional process. Fast forward six months after my friend moved in and I am still so happy I chose Spring Mill! I am a frequent visitor and my friend is thriving at Spring Mill with their extraordinary care! They know her likes and dislikes and how to make her smile as well as what triggers her. Every staff member is very kind and efficient; they go above and beyond their extensive physical care of the residents, even stopping in my friend's room to tell her a quick story about her favorite sports team, comb her hair before dinner, or give her a hug. They truly go above and beyond to maximize each resident's quality of life. Spring Mill was the best possible life decision I could have made for my friend!

Visited my Uncle at Spring Mill over Thanksgiving. What a beautiful facility to walk into. Bright, alive and festive are just a few words that come to mind. The lobby area was full of people sitting in front of the fire place. Everyone was happy and welcoming. This is my new “Happy Place” too! When people say to me that having my mother in a Memory Community must have been a hard decision… I immediately and happily tell them having my Mom at Spring Mill was one of the EASIEST decisions of my life! I appreciate Spring Mill - what a special place and truly a miracle! I’m very grateful for Spring Mill. My Mom is happy, safe, engaged, sociable, and healthy here! She is so happy! And I am happy, too! What a wonderful and kind community and warm place to call home. It’s so spacious, brightly lit, perfectly designed for your loved one with dementia. Fun, upbeat music playing (usually songs from the 1950s, which my Mom loves!). Nooks of creativity like hat decorating, baby dolls, drawing, flower arranging, with ample space to do a lot of walking, including outside….. all while being secure and safe. And the people/staff here are so kind, knowledgeable, and amazing - and they are family, too. I feel as cared for as my Mom. As a caregiver, that means the world. I love coming here to spend time with my Mom. Just a few days ago, they had enrichment activities like learning about Morocco (and then having a Moroccan dinner), watching a Dean Martin concert video, and learning about different animals like penguins and panda bears. The staff are always accessible and just a text away if there is anything you need. Everyone is so kind and friendly. If I could give Spring Mill a review of 10 stars, I would. If you have a loved one with dementia, please give them the gift of calling Spring Mill home.

I recently visited the community and was so impressed on many levels. The building is beautiful, the residents were happy, the staff was friendly and extremely helpful and the place was hopping - so much that I said at one point that I would like to live there. Everyone was so excited to play lawn darts later that afternoon and I heard one resident say that the soup he had for lunch was the best he's ever had so he enjoyed a second bowl. I loved it there so much that I plan to volunteer in the near future. Spring Mill is on the very top of my list for a senior living community for my aging parents. Keep up the great work!

Beware!! Looks can be very "deceiving". Beautiful building, everyone smiles at you. During a recent orientation, at this institution, the Director of Maintenance who is also a fire ” marshall and/or officer. Told us new employees..what he likes to call "jokes". The jokes were negatively directed towards seniors. Yesss.....literally told jokes about the elderly and before he came into the room, other staff there praised him about how funny  he is to us. Really??? If you decide to work here, the joke is on YOU!!! It is very unorganized, none of the administration staff communicates to "each other" about schedules or employees issues. IT is a small building with HUGE problems.

I met with Janine Dambrosio and was so impressed with her and Spring Mill. If my mom had stayed in Pennsylvania, this is definitely where I would have wanted her to live. The apartments and facility are beautiful and and the staff are friendly and accommodating. Janine, whom I worked with, was extremely helpful, informative, friendly, knowledgeable and personable. My Mom moved to Spring Mill at the end of December 2022 after being in a facility for 5 yrs that let her fall constantly the past year. I would like to take this opportunity to provide some feedback on Spring Mill. The organization is outstanding in every aspect. It is very clear that leadership sets the tone, and that the compassion and care extended by all staff is consistently excellent. As a visitor, I am impressed by the consistency of cleanliness and the brightness of the community. I always feel welcome. Likewise, it is very easy to be a natural part of the team, showing care and kindness to the residents, because of the wonderful tone and culture that the organization has established, involving all, treating all with respect, kindness and dignity. I cannot think of a single area of the Spring Mill operation that is deficient. In fact, it's unusual for any organization - public, private, nonprofit, educational, or faith-based - to be so strong across-the-board. Clearly, this is a reflection of good direction-setting by leadership, training of staff, quality assurance, feedback from residents, and their families and friends. It has been remarkable to watch how well and how quickly Spring Mill intakes new residents and makes them feel a part of the community. Further, and perhaps more remarkable is to see the way that residents are very respectful and caring for one another. Obviously, that kind of life giving and affirming environment is a function of the overall caregiving priority emphasized by Spring Mill leadership and lovingly carried out by staff. I could say much more, but will close with this testimony: as a society, it is extremely important that we value all people. Our society can sometimes undervalue those who are in the later years of their lives. Ironically, in other societies, those are the very people who get the most honor care and respect. Spring Mill provides the standard of excellent care, compassion and kindness for all residents, and extends the very same humanity to visitors. You are indeed a model organization, that many others could learn a great deal from in terms of the excellent job you do. Thank you for this opportunity to comment.

My wife and I attended the Casino Night last week and had a wonderful time. The food was amazing, the casino games were fun to play and the new apartments are gorgeous! We talked to many residents while there and every single one of them told us how much they love living at Spring Mill. It was so nice to see the families of the residents play the casino games together and we even heard of a 99 year old resident who learned to play craps for the very first time. It was obvious that the staff spent a lot of time preparing for a perfect evening and everyone was so very welcoming and helpful at the event. Spring Mill has been a wonderful experience for my Dad. The staff is so caring and kind and genuinely care about the residents. They were so caring to the entire family when my mother passed and worked very hard to assist my father through the transition. They plan wonderful events and do a nice job planning family nights which enables us to know the staff. One staff member in particular is very special to our family. Gwen goes out of her way to check in on our Dad and even brings her great pooch to visit him on her days off- simple incredible. We are very grateful and love the environment and staff.

My Dad is just finishing a month at Spring Mill and we couldn't be happier. SM far exceeded our expectations. The staff is friendly and happy and really care about the residents. My Dad's living area is clean, bright and well laid out for his needs. The common areas are also inviting. The in-house medical care provided by Suburban Geriatrics was also fantastic. A Physician's Assistant came to his room to evaluate him and got him the Nursing and PT that he needed - it could not have been easier.

When plans changed I was thrust into the urgent situation of finding a place that felt like "home" for my mom. Relocating her from WNC, I really wanted some place warm, inviting, and that reminded me of being at home in the mountains. My experience here has been wonderful. I came from a skilled facility where I was making little progress in getting better, almost from the moment I arrived at Spring Mill the spirit of the place lifted me up. I think what affected me the most was being treated special, I came to recognize how dehumanized I felt in the other place. The very first week I was here, as my friends came to visit me, one after another said "God you seem so much better!" and they were right. I think while there are many excellent qualities to the community, what has been most beneficial for me has been the staff.. the quality of the staff. Every staff person goes out of their way to be helpful and friendly. Come check it out!

I can't say enough positive words about David Denenberg and his staff at Spring Mill. My parents have been living at Spring Mill for 2.5 years, and David has gone above and beyond to accommodate our family and make sure mom and dad have the best possible care. Recently, my dad was hospitalized and in rehab for a short period, and the day he came back to Spring Mill, David, Janine and many staff member were waiting there to greet him as he came through the door, it was very touching. The community events for residents and family are wonderful. Janine is amazing with the residents; she loves each one like family and is truly a gift to this community. Also, must mention Jolene (aide), John (activities), Mitch (Memory Care), Charlie (driver) and Mike (chef) are exceptional, and we are truly blessed to have them caring for my parents. My mother has been here approximately 1 1/2 years and she is very happy living here. The staff treat her with love. The staff is always helpful, the food is excellent, and there are plenty of activities to get involved in. She had to have emergency surgery and when she came back they accommodated her needs until she was back to her "normal". Although they had to be extremely careful during Covid we knew our families were safe.

I have nothing but accolades and praise for this facility. It is clean, organized, and well run. Janine was a pleasure to work with and I got to witness first-hand her interactions with the residents (on a few different occasions) and her genuine love for them is so apparent. The staff is well trained and attentive to the needs of their residents. I am so pleased with the care that the staff here are giving my mother. She can be difficult at times but they stick with it and make sure that she stays busy, that she does her therapy and that she does not just sit in her room. They are working with us hand in hand as my mother's needs are changing and we now are looking into placing her in the memory care. Their knowledge and their recommendations have been a great help, I have toured the memory care here twice and learned a lot. I would definitely recommend this community.

Mom was there for rehab and it was very good. If possible try to arrive on a weekday as there seems to be a bit of confusion with weekend arrivals- the left hand doesn't communicate with the right hand. The PT/OT staff was excellent. But when you are semi-confined to a bed, little things like broken tv's or the wrong meals mean a big deal. The facility is great for the rehab. The nursing assistants were wonderful and caring. They need to work on the details at bit. But, if necessary, I would not hesitate to place Mom there or even use them myself.
