I had a wonderful experience touring Independence Village in Pella. The facility is absolutely beautiful and has a strong focus on empowering residents to remain as independent and engaged as possible. The building, common areas, and resident rooms were all top-notch, and it was clear that a great deal of care goes into maintaining a welcoming environment. Sarah was wonderful to work with. She responded promptly when I reached out to schedule a student tour and was incredibly personable throughout my visit. As we walked through the facility, she greeted residents by name, checked in on how they were doing, and showed a genuine interest in their well-being. It was obvious that she truly cares about the people who live there. She was also excited to share everything Independence Village has to offer and did a fantastic job answering all of my questions. I left very impressed with both the facility and the staff. Independence Village offers a strong sense of community, excellent amenities, and compassionate care. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a welcoming and supportive place to call home.

Independence Village is fantastic. They offer independent living, assisted living, and memory care living options in one building. The thing that sets them apart is the staff. The care team is outstanding because they genuinely care about all of their residents. They constantly go above and beyond to make sure the residents are safe and comfortable. My parents moved in about 6 months ago. Last month my mom said she has never lived anywhere where she felt this safe.

The staff are so personable, they are like extended family, they go over and above ensuring your loved ones are cared for and stay engaged to the real world’! I know they must give their own time for all they do for their residents! So many activities for the residents to enjoy, to numerous to mention, but a few including day bus trips, celebrating holidays and things like Macy Day parade, Super Bowl, Easter egg hunts, Halloween, barbecues, the list goes on and on.

Sarah made the move for my mom a wonderful transition. She was such a blessing to not only our mom but to us kids as well. Always available anytime of day to answer our many questions and help support us where needed. Our mom was feeling kind of blue about the move, but after the tour with Sarah she was so happy and excited and ready to move! After the move, she made sure Mon was being well cared for and would stop in to see if she needed anything and if there was anything she could assist with. At the time she moved in, she was recovering from a significant change in her health that led to a very difficult decision to leave her home of 45 years in Southern California for Pella, Iowa, to be close to family. My wife and I toured Independence village of Pella last week soon as we walked into the building it felt like home, the decorations, the staircase, a grand piano, a fireplace. The dining room was beautifully decorated and laid out. I can’t stop thinking about the mail we had that day prepared by an executive chef, the chef came out to our table for a visit and explained how the food was made completely from scratch real mashed potatoes, fresh fruit, fresh vegetables all the meat was cut by hand. The dessert was amazing beautifully presented. The upkeep of the building looked well-maintained. The grounds were decorated with flowers. The tulips were just starting to come up , the friendly staff everyone had a smile other face, my wife, and I can’t wait to move in

Passing staff in the hallways everyone stops to greet you or ask if you need assistance. Lindsay, the ED, is so friendly and caring no matter what’s going on she always makes time for you. Anastasia is phenomenal at what she does and is so attentive to the needs of the residents as is her amazing care team! The chef Chris and his team are effortlessly talented and you can tell they take pride in their dishes! Anna and the enrichment team is so engaging and make everyday very exciting for the residents! Doug is such a pleasure! Hard working, fast and efficient. Sarah makes the move in process such a breeze and is dedicated to insuring the community is the right fit for your loved one! Our mom moved to Independence Village last September. She was welcomed with warm and loving arms. She initially needed quite a bit of assistance but was always accommodated by friendly and helpful staff. She loved the exercise classes that were offered daily and felt a part of the Independence Village community by helping in their library. Her apartment was beautiful and she was able to make it her home with her own decor. As her daughter, I could contact any staff member, at any time, if I needed help or had a concern. We LOVED Independence Village.

This is an absolutely wonderful place! The apartments are spacious and very nice looking. My mother went from living on her own to assisted living at Independence Village and felt cared for as if she were part of a big family. The staff was very helpful and caring during her transition. She made friends right from the beginning with both the residents and staff and had people stopping in her apartment to visit her frequently. Loads of activities that a person can participate in if they want to. I would highly recommend Independence Village to anyone whose loved one is looking for a place to live. I wish we would have found this place sooner for my mother. She was the happiest she had been in years since the passing of my father. Thank you to all the staff (family) for caring about my mother.
