My wife and I toured Independence Village this past week. We were very impressed. From the upkeep of the facility, the options of living spaces, to the meal we were offered, we couldn't have had a better experience. Even more impressive was all of the staff members we met. They were dedicated to the facility, the residents and totally made us feel welcome as a visitor and potential future resident. I would absolutely recommend Independence Village to anyone. Sarah was welcoming from the very first phone call I made gathering information. Our visit included a warm welcome, chef cooked meal from scratch, residents raving about the community, food, activities and opening their doors allowing us to see their homes. It is nice to walk into a place so bright and see smiling faces and people sharing how genuinely happy they are. While we wait for an opening we are happy to know what the future will hold for our mom. Thank you to Sarah, staff and all the residents at Independence Village!

My wife and I toured Independence village of Pella last week soon as we walked into the building it felt like home, the decorations, the staircase, a grand piano, a fireplace. The dining room was beautifully decorated and laid out. I can't stop thinking about the mail we had that day prepared by an executive chef, the chef came out to our table for a visit and explained how the food was made completely from scratch real mashed potatoes, fresh fruit, fresh vegetables all the meat was cut by hand. The dessert was amazing beautifully presented. The upkeep of the building looked well-maintained. The grounds were decorated with flowers. The tulips were just starting to come up , the friendly staff everyone had a smile other face, my wife, and I can't wait to move in

Incredible community with extraordinary staff! The community itself is gorgeous. Modern, warm and inviting. You're made to feel welcome as soon as you step through the door. Passing staff in the hallways everyone stops to greet you or ask if you need assistance. Lindsay, the ED, is so friendly and caring no matter what's going on she always makes time for you. Anastasia is phenomenal at what she does and is so attentive to the needs of the residents as is her amazing care team! The chef Chris and his team are effortlessly talented and you can tell they take pride in their dishes! Anna and the enrichment team is so engaging and make everyday very exciting for the residents! Doug is such a pleasure! Hard working, fast and efficient. Sarah makes the move in process such a breeze and is dedicated to insuring the community is the right fit for your loved one! Everyone works beautifully in sync and they all come together and treat the residents like their family! The happy, well cared for residents walking around or in activities are proof of the hard work and dedication this team puts in! Way to go, Pella!

Our mom moved to Independence Village last September. She was welcomed with warm and loving arms. She initially needed quite a bit of assistance but was always accommodated by friendly and helpful staff. She loved the exercise classes that were offered daily and felt a part of the Independence Village community by helping in their library. Her apartment was beautiful and she was able to make it her "home" with her own decor. As her daughter, I could contact any staff member, at any time, if I needed help or had a concern. We LOVED Independence Village.

This is an absolutely wonderful place! The apartments are spacious and very nice looking. My mother went from living on her own to assisted living at Independence Village and felt cared for as if she were part of a big family. The staff was very helpful and caring during her transition. She made friends right from the beginning with both the residents and staff and had people stopping in her apartment to visit her frequently. Loads of activities that a person can participate in if they want to. I would highly recommend Independence Village to anyone whose loved one is looking for a place to live. I wish we would have found this place sooner for my mother. She was the happiest she had been in years since the passing of my father. Thank you to all the staff (family) for caring about my mother.

Wow, what a truly wonderful senior living center! Walking through the front doors you are greeted with beautiful, upscale decor that is so warm and welcoming. The executive director is very passionate about her residents and facility! The residents were out and about participating in activities, eating, and socializing. The apartments are large and spacious. What an absolute gem!!

Just new to the therapy staff in this facility and I have been enjoying it. Every staff member from administration, housekeeping and caregivers have been very welcoming and friendly. Residents are fun and a joy to work with. I had not been at this facility until recent weeks and have been pleasantly surprised at how nice it is. The activities are so creative and interesting that I wish I could be a resident. Feel honored to be a part of this team and home.

We went to an Open House on Sept. 8th and were very impressed. The facility was very clean and fresh, and everyone was very welcoming. We were impressed with the staff and residents. The food they served was amazing. We were very impressed with the presentation! The staff went way beyond expectations.

The staff here are amazing. The Community Specialist, Sarah, was extremely helpful in explaining different apartment types, styles, and prices (which were within market value). They have an executive chef that provides nutrious and delicious meals...made from scratch. Anna, the Life Enrichment Director, spoke about all the activities that are planned on and off site, keeping the residents busy and active.

I really enjoy the residents at Independence Village they are so good at keeping things fun and lively! The staff are also really friendly and helpful, if they are unsure with how to answer a question they will find it and get back to you with an answer as quickly as they can. I can also see how much hard work the staff have been putting into updating their building to improve the quality of life for their residents. The theatre room looks awesome! I appreciate all of the hard work you all put into making the elders lives better, they deserve the best and Independence Village is one of a kind!

The Executive Director is amazing! She is one of the most dedicated, caring, and supportive people Ive ever met. It is clear that she cares about the residents and pours her heart, soul, and energy into the people she serves. I have been coming to this building as a Home Health Specialist for over 2 years now and am very impressed. The current executive director (formerly the director of nursing) is very proactive in addressing all her residents needs from clinical to everyday challenges. She treats her residents like family including those on the independent living side. I frequent a multitude of assisted livings and feel Vriendschap Village truly is in a category by itself. The other staff members are engaging, and trustworthy as well. I would not hesitate to send my loved one there! Great place with fantastic people!

Putting your family member in someone elses care is difficult but Vriendschap Village made the transition for all parties much easier. They worked with us every step of the way and truly treat all of us like a big family. Our Dad has finally learned to relax and enjoy his days which brings comfort to us. Cant say enough good about the staff, they are all our daily heroes for him especially Denise.

My parents were residents of Vriendschap Village for several years. Their care requirements ranged widely during their stay. The leadership & staff of Vriendschap stayed ahead of their needs, with care & compassion always. The culture of the Vriendschap staff was amazing, they truly cared for my parents with all of their hearts. The facilities are very well maintained & clean. The activities were always fun for residents & family members alike! I will always be thankful for the contribution that the Vriendschap leaders and staff made to my parents life. I definitely recommend Vriendschap Village!!

None of us really want to face this hurdle, but Im glad we did with Vriendschap. I NEVER worry about dad, a resident of 3 yrs. Staff goes to great lengths to foster the feeling of community for the residents. Im updated immediately with any concerns, questions, etc. Covid has been addressed clearly and comprehensively. Staff is excellent and obviously chosen with care. 6 stars!!!

This community was a good choice for us. The location is convenient for us to get too so we can visit. My mom likes being here she has settled into her apartment very nicely she has enough space so that she is comfortable. The other residents and staff are very welcoming and friendly. Everything seems to be clean and well maintained. The food is pretty good. Overall I believe we made the right choice and I would recommend the community.
