The activities at Truewood are top notch! They keep the residents active and going places constantly. I've seen, trips to a musical performance, The Art Museum, Lucky Peak, Scheels, Borah Park, Zion Warne Glassblowing, Cinder Winery, different restaurants, stores to shop at, and even to Delsa's for ice cream. Their activities there at the community are wonderful too. The residents can't claim that they're bored while being at Truewood!

The facility was beautifully decorated for Christmas and the staff created a festive environment as we sang Christmas songs together. The residents were not shy about joining in on some of their favorite traditional Christmas songs.

I can’t say enough good things about Truewood by Merrill. From the moment we walked in, it felt like more than just a nursing home it felt like a community that truly cares. The staff go above and beyond for their residents, treating everyone with genuine kindness, patience, and respect. You can tell that every nurse, caregiver, and staff member takes pride in what they do. They don’t just provide care they take the time to get to know each resident and make them feel seen and valued. That kind of compassion can’t be faked, and it makes all the difference. The facility is always clean, warm, and welcoming, and the atmosphere feels peaceful and comforting. Knowing my loved one is in a place where they’re treated like family gives me so much peace of mind. I’m incredibly grateful for the entire team at Truewood by Merrill for the love and dedication they show every single day.

Truewood by Merrill offers a warm, well maintained setting that genuinely prioritizes resident comfort and respect. The grounds are attractive with bright common spaces and nice outdoor areas. What stands out most though is how much praise goes to the administrator, Summer Redwine. Several families mention that she is someone who makes them feel supported and truly cares. The staff are friendly attentive and caring

Truewood is the best Senior Living facility across Idaho. If I had to choose the best facility for my mom it will definitely be Truewood by Merrill. The staff is so awesome and the way they care for their residents is so caring and loving. The meals taste amazing. The business office director Maria is just wonderful and the administrator Summer is like the sunshine on a cloudy day. The residents can always turn towards them for anything. Thank you Truewood.

I have been here just over a month. All of the staff has been very kind and very helpful. The activities are fun and engaging. I really like the Activity Director Kat and her Assistant Andrew. The food is delicious and the staff is very nice and helpful. The housekeepers are also super nice and helpful. The caregiver team is also very caring and always willing to listen to questions. I also have been able to meet othe residents and make several friendships. I would recommend this for anyone who needs a good caring home for their loved ones.
October 2025
My sister has been a resident for over 15 months in memory care. I appreciate the round the clock care she receives. The activities director Monica is wonderful and takes pictures of my sister during the month and sends them to her son in Spokane and to myself in Meridian. I try to visit twice a week but sometimes I can't physically. It's great to know she is cared for with kindness and love.
October 2025
I enjoy the food the new chef cooks and the wait staff are nice. The activities are fun and we go on fun outings.
August 2025
This 5-star review specifically pertains to our Activities Department - Kat, the director, and her assistant, Andrew. As with most people who move here, at first I was very disoriented and wasn’t interested in participating in much at all. Through Katrina’s ability to research and develop fun new activities and the variety and quality thereof, I have come out of my shell and enjoy most everything we do. With the welcome addition of a great assistant, Andrew, available bus reservation hours and range of travel have expanded and Kat and Andrew have more time to research and take on new projects and activities. Each Friday we go on shopping trips and every Monday we like to ride out to various destinations, generally restaurants selected by participating residents or on trips to interesting places such as the Aquarium of Boise, the Boise Depot and tomorrow, the Fair! The activities staff are always thinking up new projects and games, and they schedule our regular games such as Bingo or team Trivia. There is also a Happy Hour every Friday afternoon. My hat is off to this wonderful team and I hope that all residents will take advantage of the joyful benefits they provide.
June 2025
Not entirely sure where to start here as the whole experience with Truewood was a rollercoaster. With the exception of the business manager Maria, the staff is exceptional and very kind. They are always happy to see you and happy to help! Specifically Brodie at the front desk always keeping the energy high with a positive attitude, a nice greeting, and some live piano. Alyssa was also one of the sweetest staff members while my father was living here. She was always trying to help and find solutions for us when the path forward was not always clear. I wish I was better with names so I could remind each one of the people here who made a difference what a great job they did. The stay and the care at Truewood were fantastic while my father was there and was only after he was no longer a resident and no longer with us that things took an uglier turn. The staff were still the same great folks we'd grown to love over the course of his residency; however, we were now working with a business operations manager who none of us were familiar with named Maria. We were working with Maria on coordinating the final accounting to ensure that any past due balance was settled and to coordinate any refunds with her and the corporate office. This process seemed like it should have been very striaght-forward but has been anything but that. More than a month after my father passed I called to see the status of the refund and find out where it was sent. I spoke to Maria who took down my number and suggested she would get back to me. I never received a call back from Maria and only spoke to her again after calling Truewood on 3 separate days and leaving her a voicemail, only to get through to her on the 4th day. She did not provide an address where the refund was sent but confirmed my address and confirmed that corporate had put a stop-paymment on the first check and issued another. She told me that it would be about 2 weeks and that if it was any longer to reach back out. After 16 days of not receiving the check I reached back out to Maria to see if it were possible to have it reissued and sent to Truewood so I could just pick up the check. Despite perviously quoting me 14 days as the amount of time required before reissuing the cehck, she now informed me that 16 days was not enough time. When I asked for a contact at their corporate office to discuss other ways of receiving this refund (something with tracking like certified mail, or even to expedite the shipping to Truewood) I was told no. I explained that I had tried to reach out to corporate and that despite the suggestion there is a receptionist the phone tree continues to transfer callers to voicemails that are all full, so you can't leave a message even if you wanted to. Long story short, the majority of the staff here are fantastic and truly caring people while Maria is the one blemish on an otherwise outstanding community. Her tone is careless and condescending, she regularly employs the phrase "I am sorry you feel that way" when discussing actions she promised to take but either failed to take or was simply too lazy. Unlike the rest of the staff here, Maria seems to lack the most basic intiaitve for someone who chose a career in hospitality and people management. In additional to the gross lack of professionalism from Maria, it also concerns me that a company would be so careless with their finances that they would have thousands of dollars of refund checks unaccounted for circulating in the postal system with no tracking mechanism. If you're looking for help, look anywhere but to Maria, she works hardest at avoiding responsibility and interactions with people and should be the absolute LAST RESORT when seeking any sort of competent assistance, guidance, or even a basic level of empathy. The only reason this is not a 5 star rating is because Maria lacks as much proefssionalism and initiative as the food at the facility lacks in flavor and seasoning.
March 2025
We placed MIL in here- the staff is wonderful, the faculty is clean and they help as much as possible with any questions or help you need. We choose this one out of 4 places we visited/called in our area.
December 2024
I have been a healthcare community liaison for twenty years. I have visited most assisted livings in the Boise area. I have seen the interactions that the administrator Summer, the nurses Alyssa and Stacy have had with residents and their family members, and I can say with 100 percent certainty I would absolutely trust them with my loved ones. I’d say if you are looking for an assisted living that you should tour, stop and talk to staff and residents, and get a feel for the facility yourself.
November 2024
We have dealt with Summer for awhile now. We helped get their fireplace and chimneys up and running. Super professional, prompt and courteous. This place is very well ran and beautiful inside. Thanks
November 2024
Food is 95% excellent as they have a chef that care. Memory care day shift is 99% of excellence. Swing and late night 75% of excellence. The $$ spent for care don't meet standard of care.
October 2024
October 2024
They were so helpful with my moving in experience. They gave me phone numbers of services I needed, and contacted people who could help me. It must have been obvious to the staff that I was a newbe, as they readily greeted me as I walked through the halls.Everyone is so cheerful.

My Dad has been at the Boise Truewood for a little more than a year now. He is very happy, loves the food, and says he is well looked after. I visited, unannounced, for his 87th birthday. When I came in my dad was sitting with two staff members (Katrina and Brody) and some other residents, eating a steak and having birthday cake for his birthday. I could see how genuine their affection and care is for him. These are good people working hard in circumstances that we all know can be challenging. Based on what I observed, and from my Dad's statements, this is a very good place for him.

I have had the privilege and honor of working with the Activities Coordinators at Truewood over the past couple years. They, and the other staff I've worked with, have developed an engaging, stimulating, and rewarding environment. The residents always know when I'm coming and are enthusiastic and engaged. Truewood is one of my favorite senior living centers in the Treasure Valley - and I perform at over twenty. I highly recommend for any loved one. Larry Buttel BlueLightVoice Entertainment

We worked with Katrina the activities director to help coordinate an educational workshop for our business. She was prompt in her communication and did a nice job marketing our workshop encouraging residents to participate. The staff cares about their residents and work hard to take good care of them.

The staff here are phenomenal!
July 2024
The change in this facility in the past three months has been incredible. I can’t even name names because everyone here is so special, I’d have to name everyone. From the executive director showing true leadership, to the sweet smiles of front office staff and marketing, to stellar coordination in the nursing department. 100% recommend this building! Summer and Alyssa specifically have changed the game here!
January 2024
This facility was much different when it was Willow Park. It’s not a place you want to put a loved one in since it has become Truewood. The transportation, to Drs, shopping errands etc, that is a service included in your monthly fee, is very hit or miss. There is no concern if Dr appointments are missed due to lack of a driver or constant repairs for the bus. They also cannot keep a house keeping staff employed most of the time. Again this is service that is supposed to be provided with the monthly fee. What is next? We can’t feed you even though you still have to pay us? Check out other options please!!
October 2023
We had a great tour today with Cami. My mom felt at ease and enjoyed looking around the assisted living space. Cami was direct and honest about the care and the pricing, which was a breathe of fresh air. We all want what is best for her, and it’s always good to get all the information up front. Thank you!
August 2023
My wife and I offer musical entertainment to local senior living centers and can tell when a facility has an active and involved Activity Director. Patty certainly is actively involved in the lives of the residents at Truewood in Boise. She is present and participates along side the residents. We always have a good turnout of people and everyone has a great time. Job well done Patty! Gary McCracken 2orMore Music
September 2022
Our Dad lived at Truewood for 11 months and I am so appreciative of the care he received. He had been living alone and lonely before he moved in. He lit up once he got his routine down, having coffee and chats with so many other residents, and at the Friday happy hours, he wasn't lonely anymore. He regained weight having good meals, and when he started to decline, his care level was elevated to be more hands on, watchful, tender and sincere. They helped us navigate into Hospice. The caregivers, med techs, nurses and administration truly love their jobs and I would highly recommend Truewood. Special thank you Emil, MamaB, Janice, Jodi and everybody that made my Dad's last year safe, happy and with residents that became friends until the end. I don't know how you do it, you are very special people and we are grateful for you all.
June 2022
It was a pleasure to visit and meet with many of the people at Truewood. The staff was very friendly. Patty, the activity director, was enthusiastic, kind and friendly. The entire center had a positive atmosphere.
May 2021
I wanted you to know that, in my view, Mom’s first day exceeded my expectations for how things would go and how she would react to the transition. Although I know there will be some difficult days ahead for Mom as this truly sinks in with her, I believe she had a truly reassuring first day. She had lunch and met a new friend as we were getting her moved in; she was invited by the activities director to go on a scenic bus tour, which she accepted; and just moments later met her next door neighbor who introduced herself, and they sat together on the bus. She was delighted with Emil when he came to get her for dinner. Paul is an absolute gem, and made getting Mom’s apartment squared away so easy. The head of housekeeping introduced herself and let me know what the housekeeping/laundry schedule would be. All in all, I am very assured that I picked the best environment for Mom that I could have.
April 2021
We had to put my father in WillowPark last September due to his falling. They were absolutely wonderful with his situation. Everyone around him was caring and have helped him get through this tough time in his life. The staff is very encouraging too him & if I have any questions they are always answering me within reason. It can be very trying to have an elderly parent but I feel I could ask anyone at WillowPark for help and someone would always reach out to me. Reach out to Jody, Mary, or Chelsea if u have any questions. I feel my dad is safe and that makes me relieved and happy.
February 2021
I am a local internal medicine physician. When it came to looking for an assisted living facility for my mother, I looked at many places in the Boise area. Willow Park definitely stood out from the beginning. From the moment I walked through the door, there was a palpable warm and caring vibe that exuded from all of the staff members I met. Chelsea and Mary were exceptionally helpful with transitioning my mother into Willow Park. My mother has resided there since 2019 and has absolutely thrived. She has made many friends and loves participating in the wide variety of activities that are offered. She loves the staff members and gives high praises to Chef Brad's cooking. I have such peace of mind knowing she is well cared and is truly happy living at Willow Park. Not to mention, they have handled the COVID crisis like rockstars!
August 2020
My Auntie lived at Willow Park for a couple months after breaking her ankle and not having the opportunity to return home right away. She safely recovered in a well priced studio and was able to go home after Physical Therapy and the amazing care of the staff.

February 2020
MY sister had a broken leg that required 5 months of recovery after surgery. We placed her in Willow Park and was very grateful for the care and attention that she received while there. They assisted her in every phase of healing and as she became more independent they worked on all aspects of rebuilding her strength. While there, the outpouring of concern and caring was well above great for her. That is what she commented on was the staff made the duration comfortable and pleasant and easier to be away from home for an extended amount of time. I whole heartly recommend Willow Park for anyones love ones as they are great at what they provide for your family.
October 2018
Dealt with Mary and Chelsea, they were very helpful with a hard situation with my mom. Timing and money caused me to choose another facility, but had those not been a factor, Willow Park as my first choice. I cannot say enough good things about the staff.
April 2018
This is a pre-move in review. We have been interviewing memory care centers for the last few weeks. We have seen how differently these facilities can be and how easy you can tell the top from the bottom. We have decided to select Willow Park and look forward to keep the 5 star rating with them.
March 2018
My father was at Willow Park Memory Care for five years and most of the staff that was there at the beginning were there at the end. That was very important to us and worth the expense. Thank you, WP.
November 2017
It is seldom easy to make the move to assisted living after being independent all your life. I can honestly say this move for my dad was still difficult BUT it definitely improved his quality of life. The staff at WP are EXCELLENT - they are attentive and genuinely concerned and interested in their community members. The facility is lovely, the food is good and I always feel welcome when I visit my father. They go out of their way to find out what their residents want and try to make it happen. They have lots of regular activities and outings. Much more than my dad would have ever had available if he had staying in his own house. I'm confident in his care - the nursing staff is attentive and well versed in health issues related to seniors. Thank you for all you do to make life better for families!
September 2017

I would highly reccomend WIllow Park . My mom is staying here and our family is very pleased with her care. The staff is very freindly and helpful! We could not ask for better care! The price is very reasonable for the excellent care and compassion she receives.
December 2016
I'm a Senior Care professional as well as an adult child of an elder. I have recommended Willow Park to many clients through the past ten years and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to my own parent. They are friendly, and inclusive, without being pushy. They will listen to your family's needs and help you determine if it's a "good fit". Their facilities are are clean and lovely, without being overdone, and the staff is professional and attentive, putting the needs of their residents first.
December 2016
We could not be more impressed with Willow Park staff and care! My in laws moved in almost a year ago and we have been impressed with the people who work there from Day 1. The kindness and compassion the employees give toward the residents is above and beyond any thing we have ever witnessed. We are so grateful we found this home away from home for my in laws. Thank you for making such a difference!
November 2016
Willow Park Senior Living is one of the very best Assisted Living Communities in Boise. Their continued focus on the quality of care and quality of life for their residents is so impressive. I have referred Patient's of ours to this community, and their care has been amazing! They are always doing something fun with their residents, whether it's art, music, crafts, etc.... they are always keeping the residents busy with fun activities. I would HIGHLY recommend them.
November 2016
Willowpark is a home away from home. The staff and care is amazing.
August 2016
Willow Park Senior Living is a wonderful facility. I would highly recommend it to family and friends. They have an amazing staff that truly cares for each resident they serve. The way they help new residents integrate and become part of the Willow Park family is unmatched in the valley.

I am a health care professional and have been working with Willow Park over the last 10 years. I confidently recommend Willow Park for my patients and their families who are looking for Assisted Living facilities. Willow Park is a great facility with great staff!

October 2015
June 2015 found us looking for an assisted living residence for our folks (age 92 and 94). We found it at Willow Park Senior Living. Yes, it was a hard move for our parents but the transition to new accommodations and new people couldn't have gone better. Willow Park is a dynamic and energetic place - full of amazing people and I am not just referring to the staff. The residents are fun, welcoming and very interested in meeting new people. Now, 5 months later, our parents have adapted to their new apartment, their new friends and their new life. My mother has blossomed and looks better every day and my father is beginning to more fully realize the number of activities, field trips, lectures, music, etc. that are available to him at Willow Park.
April 2015
I have been to many places in the Boise area and the Willow Park is one of my top choices, however they were unable to accommodate my dad because of a waiting list in memory care. Very professional and extremely well staffed, kind, compassionate and well managed. Even though dad couldn't go there, they helped me get in touch with some other amazing options. I appreciate their nurses who took the time to assess my dad thoroughly. It wasn't a fake, sell a room type of experience. They were professional and knew how to make things better for a struggling senior. Ten stars.
