My wife was in the care of Bickford of Bexley for less than two months. Poor care resulted in me taking my wife to the ER. Certified letters sent over six months ago to three different Corporate Executives has gone unanswered. Not a good sign when management is not responsive to the care of their residents.

Don't bother, the management is… poor, anything that goes wrong and/or if a complaint is made, it's ignored. Staff turnover also occurs at a head-spinning rate.

The transition from living alone and cared for by family with limited caregiving tools, to assisted living at Bickford of Bexley, has resulted in my mother thriving at this later stage in her life. From the various therapies she now has, to the daily activities at her disposal has been a blessing not only to her own well being, but also a relief to her family that she is finally getting the care and attention she desperately needed. She takes such great care of her residents, and is always looking to involve and engage Bickford in the Bexley community (and beyond). She is wonderful to work with, and her center is truly a wonderful facility in the heart of Bexley!

Please look at the previous reviews with high star ratings and note they are all left from when Sunrise managed this location. And Sunrise was wonderful. Bickford, which conjures many alterations to their name that are not at all flattering, is the exact opposite. They took over on May 1, 2018. My mother had been a resident for over 3 years, and despite a terrible medical condition, continued to thrive and be happy under the care of the Sunrise staff. It was one year ago today that Bickford got rid of the former Sunrise director and brought in a cretin who began his relationship with me by telling me over the phone, and in a very condescending manner, that he had no clue why my mother was still there, that they could not care for her. And so began a nerve-wracking couple of weeks in which I had to find a new safe place for my mother, who was on hospice. The day she moved, those former Sunrise staff members that hadn't been booted by Bickford actually cried as she left. In nearly 4 years, they had developed quite a loving attachment. While she moved to a place where she received excellent care, she was a stranger, and her new care givers were strangers to her. She died a month later, and I have no doubt that a broken heart contributed to this. As far as I am concerned, the uncaring and greedy owners and management of Bickford contributed to the death of my mother, and I will campaign heartily to make certain that no one I care about is ever entrusted to their lack-of-care.
