My Mother needed assisted living. My sister n law found Beechwood Manor. They are amazing! When it’s a parent you want the best care there is. They helped ease the stress of worrying about my mother. The nurse’s & aids are so caring. Knowing the staff & Hillary especially with her loving caring actions eased my mind when i couldn’t be there. The building was always clean. We spent almost 3 months there. Unfortunately i lost my mother. We were hoping for a better outcome, that mom would meet new friends and thrive. So if you have a family member needing assistance or day care for the day, Beechwood manor is MOST recommended. ~Dina Jesse

It’s heartwarming to see so many recent positive reviews of Beechwood. I am in the building consistently and can say that the staff cares deeply about the residents. There are no perfect Assisted Livings out there, just as there are no perfect households, but Beechwood is not a corporate run business. It’s privately owned. It passes inspections and license reviews with ease. It is staffed by only direct-hires so there is control over the quality of services. Caregivers, life enrichment staff, food services and housekeeping/maintenance are all hired in-house. Much of the staff has been there for years, some up to 20 years! The building is clean, the life enrichment department ensures there are daily exercise sessions and activities, as well as regular outings, faith services and entertainment. The food services department tracks residents’ diet plans and ensures they receive healthy, well rounded, scratch-cooked meals with fresh produce delivered three times per week from Eastern Market. The care department rounds regularly, assists with ambulation, incontinence care, med management, wound care, bathing and so much more. Beechwood doesn’t have a separate secured Memory Care unit. Instead, Memory Care residents are integrated within the community, and are kept safe using a Wander Guard system and more-so by staff involvement. This is a team that cares! My grandmother lived here, and I know a couple staff members who also brought their loved ones. When I read through the reviews, I see that ten or more of the one-star reviews all stem from one family who was upset about COVID restrictions and continues to have friends/family post reviews even years later. Beechwood, like all assisted living communities, was bound by regulations and by safety considerations, and when that family brought the County Commissioner to the building claiming that Beechwood was making its own rules, the Commissioner reviewed all the actions and commended Beechwood for following the regulations. That was a trying time for so many people. I can understand that family’s stress, but also understand and respect Beechwood’s responsibility to abide by regulations and prioritize resident safety. Other families were grateful. It would have been better if those negative reviews were more honest about the reasons for their ratings so they were more useful to readers, rather than just trying to squash a forty-year community business’ reputation, especially when the family also run a local small business and should understand the potential impact. I’d encourage anyone considering assisted living to schedule a tour and see for themselves. Talk to staff and residents when you’re there. Ask about the pros and cons. Wherever you take your loved one, look past chandeliers and fancy decor. Keep the focus on quality of care. Find out if staff is direct-hire or contracted out (a revolving door). Ask if food is fresh and scratch-cooked. Ask if food and laundry services are included in the price or are extra charges. Do the smell test. Beechwood isn’t afraid to show you what it has to offer, even if you stop in unexpectedly. There’s no smoke and mirrors. The pricing is straightforward. Some places show you cheaper rent but then increase the price dramatically with levels of care. Beechwood’s pricing is also based on levels of care but it’s honest and clear-cut. Oh, and Beechwood offers respite care and senior DAY CARE services too! Go visit!

After living with me for 6 months, my mother fell for a 3rd time and we had no choice, but, to find an assisted living facility for her, as she could no longer handle the stairs in my home. I have been to many assisted living facilities with family and friends and have never experienced a place like Beachwood. The entire staff knows all the residents personally and treats them like family. The love, care, and respect provided to each resident and their family members is unmatched at other facilities! The food is outstanding, the aids are phenomenal and the activities team knows how to fill the residents lives with meaning and purpose. Everyone I have encountered loves the residents and does everything in their power to make their lives meaningful. I highly recommend Beachwood to take care of your loved ones!

We cannot say enough kind words about Beechwood and all the staff members. They were absolutely amazing people that were kind, attentive, caring and welcoming from day one. My sister had a brain tumor and received the best care from everyone- she loved her spacious, clean room, the wonderful food and ice cream, flower day on Fridays, and making new friends. The office staff was fantastic, med techs were friendly and attentive to my sister’s needs, aides were always bringing fresh water and checking in to see if we needed anything, cleaning staff was impeccable- always kept everything spotless and tidy, laundry done so fast and efficiently, kitchen staff was always wonderful and caring. Shellie wasn’t into the activities provided there but she quickly made friends with the activities director who showed her much kindness too. All in all, we are very grateful and thankful to have found Beechwood and be around such wonderful amazing people.

Choosing Beechwood Manor for my mom’s care was one of the best decisions our family has ever made. From the moment she was admitted, we felt the warmth, professionalism, and true compassion of everyone on staff — especially Hillary and Cyndie, who were absolutely incredible throughout the entire experience. Hillary is a phenomenal leader and a true asset to Beechwood Manor. Her attention to detail, her genuine care for both residents and their families, and her ability to go above and beyond on a daily basis truly blew us away. Cyndie was just as wonderful — consistently kind, supportive, and always available when we had questions or needed guidance. Together, they make an amazing team that sets the tone for the entire facility. What stood out most was the way they cared for my mom — not just physically, but with a level of kindness and thoughtfulness that’s rare to find. From making sure her meal preferences were thoughtfully accommodated, to ensuring her comfort at all times, every little detail was handled with care. Even during late hours, the staff was attentive, responsive, and willing to go the extra mile. As a family, we felt completely supported. They kept us informed every step of the way, always taking time to update us, answer our questions, and involve us in her care. We never once felt out of the loop — we felt like partners, and more importantly, we felt like our mom was genuinely loved and cared for. Beechwood Manor isn’t just a care facility — it’s a place full of heart. The level of compassion and commitment we experienced is something we will never forget. Thank you to Hillary, Cyndie, and the entire team for taking such phenomenal care of my mom and for making us feel like part of your family.

As my mother's cancer worsened to the point we could no longer care for her we were forced to find some help. I went through this same process with my father. Both parents were in and out of several facilities, for weeks at a time, during their decline for rehab and such. I was not happy with any of these facilities. I was recommended Beechwood by a friend. I found this place to be clean and a lot of personal attention was given to the patients by the staff. At times the staff stepped up beyond my expectations. I felt for the first time, that my mother was in good hands.

My mom had stage 4 pancreatic cancer and I brought her here when I couldn't give her the help she needed anymore. The staff is amazing, they are the nicest people I have ever met. They treated my mom (and myself) with love and respect, even when she felt like she was a burden they reassured her that she wasn't. I was skeptical of her going to any assisted living or nursing home but after day one I knew I had made the right choice. They cared for her better than I could've ever imagined all the way up to her last breath. I will forever be grateful to the staff at beechwood, and if I ever have to sign up another loved one for assisted living or a nursing home (knock on wood I won't) beechwood has my trust in giving the best care possible.

I looked for months to find an assisted living place for my brother. He had dementia along with several other health issues. I arranged a respite stay for one week. They came out and evaluated my brother and he stayed for the week. The building is a single level so no worries about stairs and falling risks. It was clean , didn’t smell , the rooms are a good size. All have windows and look out onto a pleasant well kept neighborhood. Private rooms look out on the courtyard. My brothers care was impeccable. From the start was friendly asked questions and treated him like he belonged, part of the family. After that week stay, my brother became a resident. He had adjusted well to being there As his health started to decline they took extra special care to make sure he wasn’t in any pain. They watched over him like he was their own. They were his angels in my eyes. I couldn’t have asked for a better set of caregivers . They were with him till the end. I highly recommend Beechwood Manor.
