Deciding to look for an assisted living place for my sister was not easy, but we knew that the time was right. After visiting three other places, I toured Mountlake Terrace Plaza and knew that this was the perfect place for her. Right away, I picked up on the happy residents, helpful and friendly staff, plus the food was excellent. Six months later, I feel even more strongly that she is in a good place. They offer so many activities to keep residents engaged and active from field trips to arts and crafts to community involvement. They also encourage residents to share their own expertise from needlework to gardening to crystals. Shout out to Anne, Director of Wellness Programming, for being such a bright light at MLT Plaza. Last week, I really felt the sense of community and caring at a luau called Aloha! Tropical Escape with music, Polynesian dancers, a ukulele band, and a delicious Hawaiian dinner prepared by Chef Dave. Throughout the day, staff were attentive to residents' needs and welcomed family and friends to join in the celebration. I feel a sense of peace and gratitude knowing that my sister is in such wonderful hands. And, most importantly, she loves it there.

My mom lived at MTP for almost 2 years. From the time we first visited throughout her stay, the staff at every level was always friendly, welcoming, and helpful. They truly understand that the details make the difference and keep the facility clean with nice decorations in the common areas to match each holiday or season. The community has nice rooms, with different layout options to match each person's needs. My mom always felt safe and cared for here, which was reassuring to us, her children. Nothing was ever stolen from her room (we had heard stories from other places, but never had an issue at MTP). If we had questions or needed info, the care staff and/or Director was always responsive and helpful. They have a variety of good meal choices that rotate so the food doesn't get boring. The activities director does a wonderful job and there is always something - music, speakers, games, movies, special events - to do each day if the resident chooses. The neighborhood is nice too, close to the park, library, and Catholic church, on a nice tree-lined street to go for walks. We are so grateful for the loving care my mom received while living here and highly recommend Mountlake Terrace Plaza to anyone looking for a supportive community for themselves or their loved one.

Thanks for the fabulous early Thanksgiving dinner on the Thursday before Thanksgiving. The dinner Dave and his crew prepared was the best ever. Pumpkin Pies made in house, cranberries made fresh with added persimmons. Yum! Turkey and all the trimmings. Served by staff or buffet. Tablecloths. Dining room was festive. Dave and crew are doing a great job every day but holidays are festive and fun. Thank you. I would prefer soft piano music for background. Music was too loud for conversation. Myrtle Bishop

I moved in about 1.5 months ago. I trusted my family's decision and I am glad that I selected this community as my new home. They have lots of different and fun activities to choose from and I tried some that I haven't done before. I enjoyed the brain games most. I met many other friendly and kind residents that shared some similar interests. I made many new friends. I enjoyed the dining menu, the food is good and the friendly dining staffs that served me are always courteous. People here are always smiling, laughing, happy and active in many ways. I tried the fun exercise classes, the workouts are from beginner to intermediate level. It's very encouraging. the activity department kept me busy all day long. You can see the chef at the dining room, talking and serving us at times, he ensures our food is satisfactory. It's good customer service.

The beauty of the setting and landscaping always makes me glad. The staff are always welcoming. Easy to enter and leave. I appreciate the check-in camera and computer screen process. My aunt loves her apartment and the support of the staff.

One of the best things I ever did for my Dad was to move him into Mountlake Terrace Plaza. The staff from day one was welcoming. He found a home there. He told me often how happy and safe he felt. He said it was one of the best things I had ever done for him. It gave me great comfort.

I have lived here for a year now. I find it a very pleasant place with a friendly staff. There are many opportunities for activities. Never any undue pressure to participate. I also enjoy having my little dog with me. It is located in a very nice neighborhood. Across from the library. I am happy enough I went ahead and sold my home, so this is now my "home".

During this Covid crisis especially, I found the staff at MBK to be extremely proactive and laser beam focused on keeping Mr. Covid out of MLTP! They have been communicative, patient and responsive to my concerns for my family member there. So not only do they take great care of the residents, they take care of me the family member! They have their hands full especially right now and I always feel like they will take the time with me. Food and dining wait staff is excellent. Caregivers, and I know most of them well, are terrific. I love them and I think they love my family member too (many have said so)! Local management leadership is truly a model for others to follow with safety and continuous improvement a priority. Housekeeping and maintenance keep the place looking great and are responsive. Concierge are all professionals and the front line and a terrific, confident face of MLTP. Activities are diverse and plentiful and seems like they are all well attended. The staff at MLTP are top performers! A big shout out and thank you to all the staff for treating my love one as family while you have to deal with the impact of Covid to your own personal life. May we all stay healthy through this!

My Mom was here for several years and it was a very nice experience for all of us. Be aware if your relative becomes "difficult" this will be a deal breaker for The Plaza. Mom was not a barrel of laughs , to be sure , but if your beginning to notice even the beginnings of Dementia this will not be a long lasting experience so I would look for the next step in care at first. On the other hand if your relative IS a very sweet, kindly, easy to get along with person in spite of memory loss etc. you may very well not have to move. In other words my mom was always a pleasantly opinionated person and she became an UNpleasantly opinionated one. She was treating people she didn't care for badly and at first it was one or two and as she got older it was only one or two she even liked and I was NOT one of them. They have wonderful people here and so many things to do. Some days I wish I could move in myself.

We have extra care for walking to and from meals and with bathing and that is a huge comfort to us. The renovations are amazing as well. We have had two other friends visit Mountlake Plaza for their parents and both moved in. The office and front desk staff, care givers, activity team and the dining room staff are all friendly and well trained. It gets 5 stars in our book!
