My volunteer experience right here has been one of the most satisfying and rewarding moments of my life. As soon as I walked through the door, I felt a sense of warmth, belonging, and care that is difficult to find elsewhere. Anne, the Director of Life Enrichment, is the heart and soul of this community. Her strength, creativity, and compassion fill every area she enters. Whether playing games for a laugh, redecorating for activities, or virtually bringing smiles to the residents' faces, Anne and her assistant Dona make every moment memorable. You can see how much she loves her work; her kindness and determination win people over wherever she goes. Everyone right here is clearly tremendous, each with their own unique stories, humor, and sparkle. Spending time with them, whether playing games, going on a trip, socializing, or just enjoying each other's company, made my days. It's wonderful to see how much they take care of and love each other, and the way this community feels like one massive own family. Dat Lady - Dog Walking

I start each weekday at this facility by walking the wonderful dog of one of the residents. I felt inclined to leave this review because I find this facility to be so superior to some that I have visited over the past years. I can’t think of a time where I’ve encountered a staff member who didn’t have a smile on their face, or a friendly greeting. They are always helpful and patient. It seems like people are truly happy to be living there and working there. The staff person I deal with most often is Sally and every time I see her interacting with others it is friendly and with a smile on her face. I wish all senior communities were like this one!

From the moment I walked through the doors, I felt the warmth and genuine kindness from this community. Even though they knew I was just visiting my friend and I'm from out of state - every single staff member and resident treated me like family. Anne, the incredible Activity Director, was so excited to share all the enriching opportunities available to residents. She even gave me a demonstration of their virtual reality program”an experience I’ll never forget! She took me back to England, and I walked down the same streets I visited nearly 35 years ago. It was powerful, emotional, and something I never expected to experience that day. During lunch, the chef personally came to our table while we were savoring the most delicious hummus and homemade pita bread. Yes, homemade pita bread! Can you believe that? It’s that kind of attention to detail and passion that really makes this place shine. The residents were so nice! One proudly introduced us to his dog, and we were even invited to join a lively game of Black Jack, where the prize was a shared dinner with friends”how sweet is that? Before we left, both Emily from the business office and the Executive Director took the time to chat with us, just to say hello and hear about our visit. That kind of leadership and genuine hospitality is rare and absolutely worth celebrating. I just had to take share this exceptional experience.

Mountlake Terrace Plaza is a vibrant community of seniors and care professionals. We are treated as the adults we are. Anne, our activity director has so many activities to choose from. We have a garden club, a chess club, exercises in the morning, and a book club. Our chef used to work for the Mariners and cooks from scratch. The food is outstanding. Dogs and cats are welcome here. Baxter and I go for many excursions in this walkable neighborhood. The public library, city hall, and the police station are right across the street. What’s not to love. Deciding to look for an assisted living place for my sister was not easy, but we knew that the time was right. After visiting three other places, I toured Mountlake Terrace Plaza and knew that this was the perfect place for her. Right away, I picked up on the happy residents, helpful and friendly staff, plus the food was excellent. Six months later, I feel even more strongly that she is in a good place. They offer so many activities to keep residents engaged and active from field trips to arts and crafts to community involvement. They also encourage residents to share their own expertise from needlework to gardening to crystals. Shout out to Anne, Director of Wellness Programming, for being such a bright light at MLT Plaza. Last week, I really felt the sense of community and caring at a luau called Aloha! Tropical Escape with music, Polynesian dancers, a ukulele band, and a delicious Hawaiian dinner prepared by Chef Dave. Throughout the day, staff were attentive to residents' needs and welcomed family and friends to join in the celebration. I feel a sense of peace and gratitude knowing that my sister is in such wonderful hands. And, most importantly, she loves it there.

I moved in about 1.5 months ago. I trusted my family's decision and I am glad that I selected this community as my new home. They have lots of different and fun activities to choose from and I tried some that I haven't done before. I enjoyed the brain games most. I met many other friendly and kind residents that shared some similar interests. I made many new friends. I enjoyed the dining menu, the food is good and the friendly dining staffs that served me are always courteous. People here are always smiling, laughing, happy and active in many ways. I tried the fun exercise classes, the workouts are from beginner to intermediate level. It's very encouraging. the activity department kept me busy all day long. You can see the chef at the dining room, talking and serving us at times, he ensures our food is satisfactory. It's good customer service.

My mom lived at MTP for almost 2 years. From the time we first visited throughout her stay, the staff at every level was always friendly, welcoming, and helpful. They truly understand that the details make the difference and keep the facility clean with nice decorations in the common areas to match each holiday or season. The community has nice rooms, with different layout options to match each person's needs. My mom always felt safe and cared for here, which was reassuring to us, her children. Nothing was ever stolen from her room (we had heard stories from other places, but never had an issue at MTP). If we had questions or needed info, the care staff and/or Director was always responsive and helpful. They have a variety of good meal choices that rotate so the food doesn't get boring. The activities director does a wonderful job and there is always something - music, speakers, games, movies, special events - to do each day if the resident chooses. The neighborhood is nice too, close to the park, library, and Catholic church, on a nice tree-lined street to go for walks. We are so grateful for the loving care my mom received while living here and highly recommend Mountlake Terrace Plaza to anyone looking for a supportive community for themselves or their loved one.

This past summer we had to make the difficult decision to move my 91 year old Mom into assisted living. After touring six local communities, we were thrilled to find Mountlake Terrace Plaza. The buildings and apartments are updated, spotless and spacious. The professional, caring staff made my Mom and our family immediately feel at home. The chef is amazing and her menu varied and delicious. From our experience with the many fun activities, excellent food, loving staff and clean and safe environment, I would highly recommend Mountlake Terrace Plaza as a wonderful assisted living community for the senior in your life!

My Mom was here for several years and it was a very nice experience for all of us. Be aware if your relative becomes "difficult" this will be a deal breaker for The Plaza. Mom was not a barrel of laughs , to be sure , but if your beginning to notice even the beginnings of Dementia this will not be a long lasting experience so I would look for the next step in care at first. On the other hand if your relative IS a very sweet, kindly, easy to get along with person in spite of memory loss etc. you may very well not have to move. In other words my mom was always a pleasantly opinionated person and she became an UNpleasantly opinionated one. She was treating people she didn't care for badly and at first it was one or two and as she got older it was only one or two she even liked and I was NOT one of them. They have wonderful people here and so many things to do. Some days I wish I could move in myself.

We moved my In-Laws there in May 2012. We wanted them closer to us and in a facility that offered a nice environment, activities, good food and a safe location. Wow did we strike it rich. They have been so happy there. Although Dad passed away in 2016, Mom still has so many friends for support and the staff are like family always calling us by name and notifying us if they think something is unusual with her. We have extra care for walking to and from meals and with bathing and that is a huge comfort to us. The renovations are amazing as well. We have had two other friends visit Mountlake Plaza for their parents and both moved in. The office and front desk staff, care givers, activity team and the dining room staff are all friendly and well trained. It gets 5 stars in our book!
