Rhoda Goldman Plaza has exceeded our expectations in every way. My mother in law was greeted with open arms and in less than six weeks is fully settled, with a gaggle of new friends and a smile and lightness I haven't seen in years - maybe decades! The facility is lovely, clean, and attractive, without being overly grand. The activities are worthwhile, well organized, and varied. The food is excellent for a facility of this type, and very fresh and healthy. But it's the people who work here who are the secret sauce. Everyone is kind, helpful, service minded, attentive, and genuinely cares. This is one of the few homes left that isn't owned by a corporate parent, and it makes a huge difference. RGP is a not for profit that manages only this facility - the CEO sits in an office on the first floor, and is accessible for problem solving, feedback, and warm interactions with residents and families. No policies being handed down from headquarters, looking to fleece you at every turn. Costs are "what they are," and absolutely fair and transparent. My husband and I will sign ourselves up for RGP when the time comes to move to a facility with support - no question! Truly, for a real home for the elders in your family, and a home for the extended family as well, I cannot say enough positive things about Rhoda Goldman Plaza.

Rhoda Goldman Plaza is a wonderful place for senior citizens that need extra care. My husband after 6 weeks is starting to feel comfortable and enjoying his friendship with one of the residents. Everyone is very caring and I know my husband is safe and being taken care of in a professional manner.

Rhoda Goldman Plaza is a wonderful assisted living facility conveniently located in a great San Francisco neighborhood. My mother recently moved into a studio apartment there and is settling into her new surroundings and community. Thus far I can say that RGP is really well maintained. The building is twenty-five years old but looks fresh and clean wherever you go. The food served in the dining hall is quite good with plenty of options. Most importantly, the entire staff at Rhoda Goldman Plaza have been amazing. Everyone we have dealt with has been pleasant and professional. People seem to enjoy working there and tend to stay a long time. The residents are also a great bunch of folks that I look forward to getting to know better. Many are accomplished Bay Area professionals with interesting stories and backgrounds. It is early in this journey for our mom and us, but so far we are very pleased overall. I feel that my mother is well cared for at RGP with many opportunities available to her there to continue to thrive. No place is perfect and there are several other excellent facilities in San Francisco worth considering. Rhoda Goldman Plaza offers the quality, convenience, and value we were looking for. It seems to be a good fit for my mother and I highly recommend this place.

My experience with RGP is as an exhibiting artist. I found the gallery space and the staff to be terrific and welcoming. They put on a wonderful opening reception! As an exhibitor I got to meet many of the residents. They all seemed very cared for and content. The facility was spotless and well staffed. The interactions between staff and residents were genuine, warm and pleasant. The staff seemed as happy as the residents and I think that makes a difference.

I was sitting in the lobby of Rhoda Goldman Plaza, waiting for a taxi when a couple walked in, talked to the staff at the front desk and signed in. Before sitting down they walked over to me and the woman asked be if I was a resident here, and I replied, " Yes, I am." "Do you like it here?" she asked. "I do!" I said. Our conversation got no further because they were called to their appointment, which I think was a tour of the facility and my taxi arrived. If we had talked further I would have told them that I have been here only 3 months, and feel at home here. The residents have been welcoming , and the staff professional, friendly and helpful. When I came I was invited to create a space in which I would feel comfortable. Family, friends and staff made themselves available to help with that and I am enjoying my apartment very much. The residents are friendly and busy--if they want to be. I found there were many interesting activities to lure me away from the books I thought I would be reading. There is art (a new exhibit every 3 months), there are libraries on every floor, there is poetry, music, movies, lectures and there are trips to interesting places and events every week, flower arranging is another pleasure. However we are encouraged to spend our time as we please, so I will get to my books. Sometime! The dining room is very pleasant with a variety of seating options, and I look forward to the good food. A generous menu is presented for each meal so there is a lot of choice. The atmosphere is conducive to good conversation and I have met so many fine people. I could have said more to the couple, and I believe I will be able to embellish my story as time goes on. And I may even finish my book!

I fortunately have not needed their services, but wanted a reality check on the cost of assisted living should I ever need it. I called and spoke with Alison, the marketing director, who was very generous with her time and very transparent about the cost of their services and the different levels of care, even though I was clear with her that I don't currently need their services. If the need ever arises, Rhoda Goldman Plaza will be on my short list.

I assisted a years long dear friend with the move-in process - paperwork, tour, etc. Alison was a great help, guiding us along each step. The paperwork is clear, concise and manageable. The RGP is delightfully appointed and the rooms are wonderful. I was able to dine with the residents for lunch - the food is delicious, the atmosphere speaks to fine dining and the staff is very conscientious. A happy experience for all.

My mother has been at Rhoda Goldman for about 7 years now, after we realized we could no longer care for her at home. The warmth, patience, and friendliness of the staff is remarkable. I don’t know where they find such a large staff of caring people. My mother is very comfortable there, is welcomed by everyone “ even found a boyfriend! The administration goes out of their way to advise and guide the residents and families as needs change. The food is very good, the activities are varied and stimulating and there is a great library on every floor. The residents themselves are interesting and clearly appreciate the wide range of activities available for intellectual and cultural engagement, fitness classes various classes geared toward creativity, including wonderful concerts and talks. We feel incredibly lucky that our mother is there. I've not seen nor heard of an assisted living community that compares to Rhoda Goldman.

I recently toured Rhoda Goldman Plaza assisted living facility while searching for the best place for a family members next stage in life, and I was incredibly impressed. The facility is beautifully maintained, and the private apartments are bright and spacious, with thoughtful design elements that promote ease of mobility. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and clearly dedicated to the residents' well-being. The range of activities and amenities offered is outstanding “ from fitness programs and art classes to great meals. The vibrant community atmosphere is perfect for my family member that wishes to stay active and engaged. What truly stood out to me was the comprehensive care provided, particularly in the Memory Care unit. The staff's professionalism and compassionate approach reassured me that my Grandma would receive the best possible care. Overall, Rhoda Goldman Plaza exceeded my expectations.

There was a change in Executive Directors a few years back and you can feel that in the staff. They really care and work with the family to help in anyway they can. My Aunt now lives in the Terrace in a beautiful apartment and I am equally pleased with the staff on that floor. This is a wonderful facility.

Rhoda Goldman is a lively, clean, airy, pleasant place. My daughter and I are always happy to visit my father there. He is often busy at one of the lectures or concerts but we track him down to eat lunch in the dining room or cafe. We particularly like the Sunday brunches which include champagne, homemade baked goods, and yummy desserts. My father's friends also visit often since it's a pleasure to be there, not a chore. As far as care goes, the staff always contact me if my Dad has even a minor problem so I feel confident he's being looked after which is a huge load off my mind.

My father has been at Rhoda Goldman Plaza for the last 18 months and though I was worried how he'd transition after a lifetime living independently in his own home, RGP has made it a very positive experience. The staff are some of the kindest, most patient people I've ever known. The activities, outings and art exhibits are plentiful. And the food -- which is quite important to someone's quality of life -- is consistently excellent (my dad can't say enough about it!). I toured a lot of facilities before selecting RGP and ultimately chose it because it's the kind of place I'd want for myself one day. Best of all, my father tells me regularly that he is very happy there - couldn't ask for more.

My mom has lived at RGP for 9 years. They have a lovely, attentive, and creative staff who truly care about the residents, and welcome their families. The facility in a great location, close to shopping, dining and medical facilities. I think the food is delicious and the folks who run the food service are wonderful. There is always lots of variety to choose from at every meal so that the pickiest of eaters can find something to satisfy. RGP provides loads of activities to engage those with an interest in art or politics, drama or history, poetry or plants. The move to assisted living is a big transition but RGP is as warm and comfortable a place as you can find.

This is a wonderful assisted living facility in San Francisco. All of the employees, from management to care givers are lovely, compassionate and gentle towards the residents. The apartments are spacious and cheerful. There are lots of daily activities including movies, lectures, exercise classes and crafts. Residents can choose between a more formalized dining room or a more casual cafe for every meal.
