Honestly, I can't and don't believe some of the things that have been written in reviews in this thread. I have had 2 family members cared for in this facility. Firstly, my grandmother in law who spent years being cared for by Windsor and their staff until her passing. She was always well taken care of as was the facility itself. Fast forward to recent months, my aunt was emergenctly placed in a facility after the passing of her spouse that cared for her. The facility she was transferred to directly from the hospital was absolutely AWFUL. She was missing meals, not being taken down for meals, she was not being bathed or changed at regular intervals, when she would be changed, soiled diapers and linens were being piled up in her room, and the entire facility itself had the stench of urine and overall uncleanliness. It took just shy of 1 week for me to realize and start taking action to protect her mental, emotional and physical well being and the first place my mind went, Windsor. They never failed to make my GMIL a priority and not only in her physical care, but her happiness, social life and interactive activities to promote a very cohesive and direct plan of care for her. When trying to move my aunt to a facility I knew I could trust, I reached out to Windsor and spoke directly to the administrator as well as the director of nursing who both, made the transition for my aunt as easy and accommodating as possible. They even spoke to some of the issues she was facing in the current facility and how unacceptable it was. She was removed and placed with Windsor in a matter of days. Since being at Windsor, my aunt has expressed regularly how much happier she is. My aunt is fully cognitively aware, able to advocate for herself and able to communicate to us any issues. She has not had ONE single complaint about Windsor, their staff, or her care. She is taken for her meals, every meal. She is bathed regularly and if she ever feels she needs some extra care in that regard, all she has to do is ask. Her ability to socialize and make friendships with other residents is a priority to the staff and encouraged by them as well. They plan acitivies, and try to keep the residents out of a repetitive or boring cycle. My aunt is thriving at Windsor. She has not had any therapy in years and within just the few short months she has been with Windsor, she was able to stand for the first time in years. Patient care is a standard they STAND on. I am grateful for them and the lengths they are willing to go to ensure the best quality of life for their patients and I will never choose a different facility to care for my loved ones in the future. If there were to be any issues, the management is always available and willing to address any concerns and come back with solutions or recommendations to fix it. I have had many, many family members in care facilities for various reasons over the years. What I have seen, had to fight and advocate for basic human needs to be made a priority, the lack of care and emotional stability, the uncleanliness, it's truly been eye opening that many of these places do not operate from a place of genuine care or concern for the individuals they're trusted to protect and care for. I can say without hesitation and undoubtedly that Windor is the exception to the very common and overwhelming truth of most long or short term health care facilities. I do not have to worry about my aunt which is a huge weight lifted knowing she is being cared for and looked after in the same standard I would hold myself to caring for her on my own. With all of that being said, things do happen and we expect that. BUT, when things happen, excuses are not a solution and where so many other places make excuses, Windsor and their staff take accountability and take action to make corrections. No place is perfect and its unrealistic to expect that but Windsor strives for it any chance and opportunity they are given to improve their standard of care. Thank you Windsor for being the difference in short and long term care.

This place took care of my grandma and we had issues before with her receiving quality care, attention, as well as us being given communication. I will say since the new administration we have follow up calls to make sure our concerns that we have brought up are being monitored and addressed. They care not just about the residents but their families as well. We have had a wonderful turn around in how much we trust this place to deliver great therapy services but also attentiveness and treated like a human!

If looking for senior living options for yourself or a loved one, I would highly recommend Windsor Estates . The campus offers many levels of care ( from Independent living to Assisted living to Memory Care to Skilled living). When calling to schedule an appointment for tour I would recommend booking a tour , the community is beautiful esthetically but also beautiful because of the genuine love and compassion they have for the residents that call Windsor Estates home!

Recently my husband was at Windsor skilled nursing facility for three months after being discharged from Barnes hospital. He had been in a terrible car accident and needed Rehab and physical therapy. His leg was amputated Erin in physical therapy did an excellent job in helping him regain strength and some independence . There also were a few CNAs who actually cared about the residents. Unfortunately many times my husband pressed the button and received NO help for at least an hour. He would need a bed pan and get ignored. They were always short staffed. Upper management pretended to care. They make a lot of empty promises and there were several broken commitments. Additionally there was an ant infestation at the facility in the summer. Ants were all over in my husband’s clothing. The food is unrecognizable. If you love them Do NOT send your loved ones here. You can thank me later.

Recently placed a relative at Windsor Estates. While is it in need of renovation, which I understand is in progress, it is a good facility. Shane, Taylor, Nic, Nicole, Stephanie and Tiffany have bent over backwards to help out in a difficult time. They, like every other place, are a little short staffed at times, but the vast majority of the staff are eager tp help and care. I appreciate the therapy staff as well, they have him mobile again. Thank you so much! I have to give a shout our to the day dietary staff in the skilled nursing facility, those ladies are the best. Once it is renovated it will be a five star for sure!

I recently had to put my husband in rehab for a while. We looked high and low for some place that would take him because he also needed memory care. When we found Windsor Estates I was so happy. The staff all do everything they can do for you. The rooms are large with TV, phone and showers. They bent over backwards to make sure he was looked after. He had therapy 5 days a week and really started improving with out stress of not being at home. The food is awesome, the place is very clean and your loved one is really taken care of. They have activities daily. The staff dress up and join in on the activities also. It is really a great place, a place where I would like to be if I couldn't take care of my self. I know without a doubt I would be very well taken care of. Be sure to check them out in St Charles.

My stepfather fell, broke his neck and suffered a TBI. As a result of being in the hospital for two months, his dementia was exacerbated and he began believing he was at work (although he had retired nearly 20 years ago). Due to his new state of mind, my mother had to find a facility to care for him. We ended up taking him to Windsor Estates. The facility is clean, and the staff is caring and conscientious. We never worried about his escaping and getting lost; and more importantly, he was much happier here because he could tell that the staff truly cared about him. I cannot say enough good things about this facility. If you are searching for a facility for your loved one, please visit Windsor Estates of St. Charles. You will not be disappointed.

My uncle was recently in the hospital and sent to Windsor Estates for rehab. They did an amazing job for him and I will tell you how. He is a retired Marine drill sergeant who is very difficult and extremely independent. He doesn’t like most people and did not want to go to rehab at all, but back to his apartment. So, the incredibly patient care team tried very hard to help him. He was having none of it. My husband and I showed up for an emergency care meeting and witnessed their professional patient focused care. My uncle wanted me to take him home right that minute (even though he obviously was not up to it) and the team talked to him for over s half an hour- cajoling and understanding his position and got him to stay another 3 days - which he desperately needed. If he has need for care in the future, Windsor Estates will be my first choice.

I could not recommend a better place to rehab! Their physical therapist, Erin, was amazing at taking the time to explain what she was doing and walked you through every step of the process. Nic was wonderful, she took the time to make sure everything was just the way we wanted it and assisted with the discharge from the start. UPDATE: I have updated my rating based on the executive from Tutera group reaching out to me. She was genuinely concerned with the reasons for my review of Windsor Estates. We had a nice conversation. I was happy to hear that there have been some improvements made and leadership changed. I plan to tour Windsor and give another update. I believe every business deserves a fair review and I tend to rely on them when making decisions big or small. I also believe the consumer deserves an honest and truthful review to help them make decisions as well. Also, in all fairness, COVID-19 did not make it easy on my mom, Windsor estates nor me. The timing was just bad for that reason. My mom was only in the independent living for 2 months before we decided to move her out. This was after a fall and a visit to the rehab facility there at Windsor. I convinced the doctor to discharge her and took her into my own home, it was so bad. I moved her out of her apartment and they didn't stop the automatic payment. The next month they took $2970 out of her account. That was a month ago and have not sent it back and now I am not getting return phone calls. No one answers when I call. I select executive director and it goes to the marketing director. I am afraid they don't have the funds to pay her back. I have tried working with management there who escalated it up to corporate to send me a check. Now they don't return my calls or answer the phones.

The facility is very well run, clean and caring, Every staff member we have interacted with is friendly, willing to help and seems to genuinely care about the residents. Moving. a loved one to assisted care of always hard. The folks at Windsor Estates make this a much easier decision.

My mom was discharged from the hospital and sent to Windsor Estates to the Skilled nursing facility, i was not too impressed with her room, lots of scratches and scrapes on the walls, missing blinds for the windows, the handicapped rails for her toilet were cracked and had duct tape holding it together. The only reason I gave it 3 stars was because everyone was very nice and helpful to my mom.

We moved my father there in June of 2019 to the Assisted Living. There are NO Food choices! He is diabetic and his sugar counts that he normally maintained by his diet were outrageous! He fell and several times was on the floor for more than an hour. The phone never worked properly. They never sent in his forms for his long term insurance, (the Ins. Co is still waiting on 2 forms) After he fell several times in one day he was sent to the hospital, at the nurses request. She openly admitted that she only had the min. required staff for the residents. I spoke with them about the food choices, I was told they could only offer what was available. My dad needed assistance to get in and out of the bathroom safely, their solution was DIAPERS! He is in control of his bodily functions. After the hospital stay he went to their skilled care for therapy. Once again, he was told do not try to take yourself to the bathroom, we will assist. Once again he waited several times for more than an hour. Diapers were their solution. When I spoke to them about the insurance forms, they said they would take care of it. He paid for a full month at the full rate. When he went to Skilled Care it was on Medicare. When his Medicare ended, the therapist called and said they were discontinuing the therapy and releasing him. We moved him back home mid August. Guess what, We are still waiting on the last two (2) forms to be sent in to his insurance company! We have since moved my Dad to another facility and ready for this, his insurance is already submitted and approved. Be Careful in the selection of a place for parents. In closing, I will say there were 3 nurses I met throughout this ordeal that truly cared, the others, it was just a job.

My mom and step dad moved into Windsor Manor, Assisted Living, July 2018. Since being there, their quality of life and health have both significantly improved. They were reluctant to move in, but I don't think I could get them to leave now. They both participate in activities and the staff has been very helpful to the entire family during the transition.
