Reviews Asbury Gardens
March 2025
Asbury Gardens My mom has been at Asbury Gardens for almost 2 years. She recently transitioned into memory care due to her progression of her Dementia. I chose Asbury originally because they did offer more skilled care on the same property which meant less disruption for my mom as the disease progressed. I wanted to share my experiences because I understand the struggle family members are faced with as they search for the right facility. I visit my mom several times a week, sometimes every day, which allowed me to have a unique experience of the day to day elder care here. Asbury has hired wonderful people. Colleen welcomes every visitor with a smile while she oversees the seniors as they come and go throughout their day. She offers them kindness , support, and a helping hand. It takes special people to be there day after day giving 100%. I observed many of the maintenance technicians busy fixing and making special adjustments for different resident needs. I never heard a cross word or complaint from employees. Even the simple task of unlocking a resident's door that forgot their keys once or five times, they did it with a smile. The CNAs and Nurses station were all motivated by authentic care for each individual residents needs. Shelby the head nurse made my moms stay in assisted living comfortable and if she ever had a concern, Shelby picked up the phone and took the time to discuss any issues. Big shout out to her! All the CNAs in assisted living worked hard either helping with meals, or if the residents were ill, or even making sure they were dressed appropriately for the weather. They had staff that washed their clothes , folded them, and returned them to their apartment. It made it easy for seniors to go about their day without worry of the small day to day chores they once had to handle. If I had a concern about my moms health or medicine, the nurses took time and answered any questions I had. Nurses even worked with me to adjust her care plan as my moms needs changed. I never felt like I was not welcome. I never felt like my questions were bothersome. I always walked into a clean building and felt safe no matter what time I arrived. After two years in assisted living, my mom was recently moved to memory care. Many people are concerned because patients with memory issues, dementia, and other diseases cannot advocate for themselves. However, at Asbury I have met incredible caretakers at this level of care here. If you are able to get a room here your parent or loved one will be well taken care of. I have seen these all the caretakers go into rooms of some less mobile or ill with a smile and a hug bringing food, folding laundry, their meds, helping them walk to the restroom, or caring for their personal hygiene with authentic kindness. I was concerned at first, but after going there day after day at all different times I saw a consistent pattern of quality care. I arrived after lunch one day and saw the CNAs coloring with some of the residents, or walking them to their rooms, bringing a cup of water to another. It warmed my heart. I was filled with gratefulness. Just today I watched a lovely girl named Breann happily walking an elderly lady to lunch and telling her how beautiful she was. The elderly woman just lit up. This happens all day , every day. The people here all work hard. There is a lot on their plate and they do it with tender hearts. One of the other head nurses now in memory care Shameka is absolutely amazing. She not only provides nursing care, but she even has some of the residents sitting with her during the day to visit as she keeps an eye on their well being. I have never met someone with such love in her heart for ALL the residents. There are so many different levels of care and she truly leads her team with strong organizational skills, exceptional nursing, and most of all with love. It is kind of like a big family in memory care. Her days are busy, but she takes the time to speak with family members and communicates their care plans while patiently answering any questions they may have. I was overwhelmed with gratitude and appreciation for the level of care the memory care residents are given here when no one is watching. If you have a family member here, I hope you know they are in good hands. Thank you to every single person there. You are all wonderful, exceptional people.

The staff make Asbury a home and a family! We truly had good experiences with the levels of care and services provided here. When it became time where a loved one needed additional care that we could not provide at home, were delighted to find Asbury Gardens. They took care of the medical and daily living care, so our family could experience emotional relationship benefits at this stage. The staff are friendly, and really care about the residents. The space is well decorated, clean and offers many group activities to keep the residents together and having fun. Big thanks an endorsements for the establishment!

My dad spent about a month in rehab at Asbury Gardens. I felt like they cared about him as a person and wanted the best outcomes for him. Lisa in Admissions and Ashley the Social Worker were extremely responsive in all of our requests and the Symbria therapy team on site were terrific problem solvers and all of them worked purposefully to get my 87 y/o dad to the best quality of life. Now he is in Supportive Living at Asbury and the people there are terrific. Joy, Jen, and Alex are all rockstars that truly seem to care about their residents.

Asbury Gardens staff go above and beyond in every way. The activities, the business side, the food is great and there is so many things to do. My mom was worried about being forgotten. I can't get there a lot because I can't drive due to an injury to my right leg. Even if I can't get there the staff is friendly and helpful and they ask her to join events and keep her very busy!

Jonathan and staff worked swift and hard as my family navigated through the placement process for our mother, especially with a time-sensitive situation.

The team at Asbury Gardens has made the experience of moving my aunt into their facility less stressful than previous moves. They are very accommodating. Jonathan is always there to help with any issues. Laurie, the nurse, is pleasant and was patient with my aunt during her initial assessment. Thank you also to the maintenance crew who were a big help on making a quick repair in my aunt's unit on moving day!
January 2022
From the initial phone call to move-in day, the customer service was top notch from the director of admissions, maintenance, nursing and the front desk and even the residents. Everyone took very good care of my mom as she transitioned into her new home. My mom already feels comfortable being there and it is only day two. I highly recommend Asbury Gardens!
April 2019
My Mom is suffering with Dementia. She now needs more assistance. She didn't want to move in with any of her children. She wanted to be as independent as possible. I then began the difficult task of looking for facilities. This was something I dreaded because of the horror stories you hear about nursing home and assisted living facilities. I google facilities in my area and started calling for appointments. I called a couple of facilities and made my appointments to come out to take a look. Let me just say that I am GLAD that Asbury Gardens was my first appointment. When I entered Asbury Gardens I knew this was the right facility for my Mom. Let me explain. Asbury Gardens is EXQUISITE. You have to see it in person for yourself the pictures are not enough. I met with the Assistant Director Nathan. He was very caring and took his time and answered all of my questions which put me at ease. I told him then where do I sign because I am 100% sure this is the right place for my Mom. He then took me on a tour of the facility. Again simply BEAUTIFUL. ALL of the staff were very Kind, Nice and Friendly, as well as the residents. Again I knew this was the right place when I witnessed the interaction of the staff with the residents and the residents with each other. The rooms are very nice. They have fine dining and they offer a wide range of activities and outings daily for the Asbury Gardens residents. After the tour Nathan suggested that I bring my mother back and that he would arrange lunch for us so she could experience Asbury and she if it would be a good fit for her. (I think everyone reading this knows how I feel), but it is my Mom's decision. I came back with my mother. We had a Great lunch. She loved Asbury. That was back in 2017. It is now April 2019 and my mother is still living at Asbury. Asbury has Everything you need for your Loved one. I have experienced this personally. Asbury Gardens offers Supportive Living Facility, Skilled Nursing Facility and a Memory Care Unit. My mother moved into their Supportive Living Facility. She fell in April 2019 (last week) and after her stay in the hospital, she is now currently recuperating in Asbury's Skilled Nursing Unit. She is getting the BEST care there. The staff is very attentive to all of her needs. They are very nice and are taking excellent care of her. She is getting the best therapy and she loves it there. After my mother has finished her therapy, at Asbury, I am moving her to their Memory Care Unit. Please believe me when I tell you that Asbury Gardens is the BEST its true. They offer and have EVERYTHING for your Loved one. Let me say that Asbury's maintenance staff director Nate as well as staff member Don helped me with my mother's move. I mean where can you get such EXCELLENT treatment. I hope I have answered any questions you might have concerning Asbury Gardens. I am typing from my heart. I LOVE that I found a place where my mother is able to receive the care she deserves while dealing with her Dementia. Asbury Gardens has and is a God send for our mom and the entire family. I am typing this from my heart with LOVE. I hope this helps you in decision. There is no other place like Asbury Gardens, just look at everything they have to offer, (my mother is a true testament to everything they have to offer) she has and is still receiving the benefits. God Bless. Sincerely with love, The family of Nadine T. submitted by Nadine's daughter Victoria

Never been in a retirement home before until I recently visited Asbury Gardens. I was there visiting a friend's mother and I have to say that all the employees were very friendly and helpful. The place is really clean and looks like it was newly renovated. If there care is any indication of my visit, I would recommend!

I want to thank all the WONDERFUL staff of the Rehab Center for taking such great care of my mother, Beverly Smith for the past 6 weeks. The staff treated my mom as if she was their own mother or grandmother. The staff are very caring individuals and give the patients very special care, time and attention. If I ever need to go into a Rehab Center, I would like to go to Asbury Gardens Rehab Center. I will miss visiting with the staff and other residents on a daily basis. THANK YOU ALL YOU ARE VERY SPECIAL PEOPLE.

My father has been living at Asbury Gardens for almost a year now. While his health is declining, the care he has received has not. He first lived on the first floor and was moved to the memory care unit a few months later. Thank God for Asbury Gardens who accepted him with open arms. And believe me, he's quite the handful!! The never tire of his jokes or his grumbling. They play cards with him which is his only passion. They allow him in his confused state to sit in the office with them while they continue with their work. It is such a comfort for me to know he is as happy as he can be and taken care of in my stead. Thank you to Julie the nurse who received him into your facility. What would I have done without you!??! A million thank yous. Cindy Prost
November 2015
My Aunt and Uncle live here and are doing things all the time. I've taken my grandson for Santa last year and Halloween today. It was awesome. Everyone was so happy to see the kids, and the kids really enjoyed it.
November 2015
Kudos to Asbury for providing a safe, dry Halloween for many! What an awesome thing to do!! The line was backed up a few times, but they handled it with ease. So many smiles on the kids and Elderly Residents faces!!!! Thank you!!
