Brookdale was an easy choice when we needed assisted living for my Dad. He was close to his family and neighbors. And, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming!He is well cared for when we can’t be there.

A little over a year ago, when we could no longer care for Mom at home, we were searching for a safe and affordable place for her to live. She has dementia. It is a heartbreaking disease and that search was heartbreaking for her daughters. But, we found Brookdale. As the oldest daughter, I visited first. I was immediately put at ease observing , staff that knew residents by name, who were friendly, seemed to be enjoying their work and were very professional. I was welcomed to speak with any and all of the staff who would take part in Mom's care if she came to live there. I even got to speak with the woman who runs the hair salon! Everyone was very knowledgable, thorough and patient in answering my questions. After that visit, I decided to be put on the waiting list. Once called with an opening, we said, "yes!" We have not regretted our decision for a moment. Mom loves it there, she is well cared for, staff go "above and beyond" to communicate and share special moments with us. When we visit, we are always greeted and known. We are so grateful for all of the caregivers and staff at Brookdale.

My mom has been at Brookdale for almost nine years, she is now 97 y/o and I accredit Brookdale impart for her long life. I believe because she lives there she is living her best life. She has access to many things she would not have had with home care. Things like socialization, activities, a high level of care and her over all well being are addressed at Brookdale Hagerstown daily. I try to be sure to let the staff know how grateful my family and I are.

I can not say enough great things about this particular facility. Pete, Skyler, Megan, and the entire care staff are nothing short of amazing. They took a very stressful situation and made it almost painless. The knowledge and professionalism they display is unmatched, along with the dedication they show to the residents and their families. I will be forever grateful for everyone here.

Brookdale of Hagerstown has been so professional, kind, and caring to our family as we took a tour of the facility for my FIL. Pete and Skyler answered our questions and made us feel comfortable. We received a warm welcome as we entered the beautiful facility. We had a delicious lunch and many residents and staff came to introduce themselves and seemed genuinely happy. The room we toured was lovely and will be a good fit for our FIL. This process is very difficult but knowing we will be able to work as a team with Brookdale to meet the needs of our family member is reassuring and makes this transition easier.

In October, 2024 my 96 year old mother-in-law had the unfortunate experience of falling and fracturing her hip. Following surgery and rehab, our family was faced with reality of securing a more permanent living arrangement for her. We did an exhaustive review of available options and agreed upon Brookdale Hagerstown Assisted Living. From the welcome of the staff upon admission to the present day, we are pleased to report that Brookdale Hagerstown was the perfect solution. Not only is the facility wonderfully appointed and exceptionally clean and the meals appealing and nutritious in a beautiful dining room with linen table cloths and servers in tuxedo apparel; but the staff are far and above attentive, kind and genuinely caring. The direct care staff is truly outstanding. Like any long term care arrangement, there have been occasional minor bumps in the road with regard to her care. It is not and never will be perfect. Our family recognizes this however as a fact of modern day health care, but at the same time want to commend and compliment both the management and staff for their overwhelming response to addressing these issues. They are approachable and committed to both the resident and family to doing the best that they can to make her stay as positive as can be. They not only want but also seek out feedback on a regular basis. Very unusual in this day and age as it is much more than just a job to them. We definitely made the right choice for our loved one and would highly recommend Brookdale Hagerstown to anyone else in similar need.

My mother is in her 5th year at Brookdale Hagerstown. The majority of her stay has been in the Memory Care unit due to the onset of dementia. My mother has gone through some tough medical issues that have affected her physical and mental capabilities. Through each event, the care and nursing staff have gone above and beyond to see that my mother was well cared for to assist with her recovery. The nursing staff kept me informed on her recovery progress and assisted me when I needed guidance on various medical questions or securing the proper medical devices, i.e. wheelchair or hospital bed. Without this level of commitment to my mother's well-being, I'm positive the results would not have been successful. I am so pleased that my mother still refers to Brookdale as "home" during our conversations.

Brookdale management and staff, are very caring and compassionate towards my mother. The level of support that we have received, over the past 3-1/2 years, has been wonderful. The journey, for both my mother and I, has been a struggle, at times, but this caring team has always been there to help guide us through. So a big, thank you, from the bottom of our hearts...Kilan, Taylor, Dorothy, Angel, Amy, Jada, Jackie, Kim, Delaney, Lisa, Shaun, Dining Room staff, Maintenance team..if I missed anyone, I apologize.

My father was in Brookdale Hagerstown when he passed. I'd recommend that if your loved one was near death to remove all valuables from their room. He died on a Monday and when we went on Tuesday to collect his things the three most valuable were missing. An "investigation" supposedly occurred but we were never notified nor items returned.

My sister and I toured this facilty during our search for assisted living for her. Taylor was wonderful! She was interested in learning about my sister, what her needs and interests were and what was she looking for in assisted living. Taylor toured us through, my sister had lunch (food was great!) and visited with some of the residents, everyone was so friendly and welcoming. We ultimately chose another location only because it was closer to my home. I would highly recommend Brookdale!

When I began my search for a memory care facility for my mother, Brookdale was the first place I visited. Taylor did a wonderful job of educating me and helping me deal with my gamut of emotions and concerns. The staff was very engaging and informative and spent all the time with me that I needed. Our family ultimately chose another facility closer to home, but Brookdale was one of the best experiences I had when visiting facilities and making our final decision.

Brookdale was a facility our family looked at seriously for mom. Taylor has been most welcoming, informative, pleasant, and patient as we sorted through how they could support my mom living there with all her needs. Taylor had all the time I needed to talk things through & tour, answered all questions thoroughly, offered her number to call anytime, and followed up with us afterwards. Brookdale had so much to offer, is a beautiful facility, and the residents all looked truly happy and engaged. How is it that we didn't even know they were there. Check them out!!

MY WIFE AND I HAVE BEEN RESIDENTS AT BROOKDALE HAGERSTOWN SINCE JANUARY OF THIS YEAR. THE CARE GIVEN BY THE NURSES, RESIDENT ASSISTANTS, THE STAFF, AND THE MANAGEMENT FOR THE MOST PART IS GREAT. THE STEPS THAT BROOKDALE HAS TAKEN TO KEEP US SAFE FROM THE COVID-19 VIRUS HAS KEPT US AS A COMMUNITY OF NOT ONE POSITIVE TEST RESULT FOR EITHER STAFF OR RESIDENTS FROM DAY 1 OF THIS HORROR THAT WE ARE LIVING WITH. My family and I are extremely satisfied with the care given to our Mother who has been a resident at Brookdale Hagerstown for over three years. The staff is very positive and accommodating to meet the needs of our mother. I have found that everyone involved is concerned about the well-being of the residents. The Executive Director has kept Brookdale families informed with regular e-mail updates during this pandemic. Thank you Kilan for these communications. My mom moved to Brookdale 2 months ago. She has been welcomed with open arms, embraced by the wonderful staff, and is very happy and at home in your lovely community. She is talks about how good the meals are, and appreciates the care taken by the housekeeping and nursing staff. She has also made good friends.
