I'm a resident at Belvedere Commons. The staff is pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable. I live in a very nice 1 bedroom apartment with my service dog. Congregate meals are available three times a day. The grounds are beautiful with plenty of trees and flowers. I recommend this Assisted Living Facility to anyone needing a wide range of care for the disabled or elderly retired people who need some assistance.

Jessica is amazing, Karla has a heart of Gold. Daniel is the best nurse assistant hands down. The place was my home for 9 months and helped me recover and I was able to walk out. Thank you to the amazing staff.

My mother-in-law was there just shy of 7 yrs. Started in the front then last 3 1/2 yrs in memory care. Some staff through the years were great other not so much. I highly recommend putting a camera in the room, even if your loved one has their mind about them. I found so much neglect, from not feeding her, to not checking on her for hours and she was hanging out the bed. I could write a book on the horrible things we saw through the years. When she was dying we went in to see her and staff knew to keep checking on her. Our camera showed the 11-7 staff never went in for 3 hours and when they finally did she was gone. They are understaffed for 2nd and 3rd shift. The Opal company is horrible, all they want is the money. Can't stress enough no matter where you put your loved on get a camera and monitor it daily.

Amazing staff and people. The staff really gets to know you and treats you like family. Very Clean and always improving. Daniel is an amazing CNA and cares so much about everyone and goes above and beyond on every shift. Jessica is an amazing leader with a huge heart. Would,and have recommend.

Very nice place but they charge a one time "community fee" of $3000. Jamie was nice enough to knock that in half but $1500 was too much for my mother on a fixed income. I work out of town so I was going to go into their office next Friday and sign paperwork and my mom would arrive the following Monday. They were going to charge me $180 for two days. Mom wasn't even moving in yet. It seemed like a clean place but in dealing with elderly care NO ONE I've contacted charges a community fee. I've contacted The Veranda Waterford at Carpenter's Creek And the Villages. No one time fee. I would have had to pat $6000 simply to move mom into the Belvedere.

My Father In Law has been here about 3 weeks. He loves everything but the food...he says he doesn't like the food but he sure liked the desserts. We have seen nothing wrong and I honestly feel he is just adjusting to the meals. Today they had a Loual and it was absolutely amazing!! The staff went above and beyond! They cooked an entire pig, had a houla dancer and Hawaiian shaved ice...they really went all out!!

Moved my Mom from Destin to Belvedere yesterday when I arrived with Mom the entire staff greeted us. Immediately took great care of her while other members assisted with unloading of her belongings the best first day experience in the 2& half years and six moves Extremely impressed

My mother lived at Belvedere Commons for over 16 years (age 78-94), and she received loving care the whole time. I felt that Belvedere offered enjoyable activities, delicious food (meals were very important to Mom) and an atmosphere where Mom could enjoy her last years. Staff was family friendly, too!

My mother has been a resident at Belverdere Commons since October of 2015. My mother has never said a disparaging word about her treatment while at the Commons. She adjusted well from living on her own to the communal living environment. I consider that smooth transition to be the result to the staff and conditions at Belvedere. They have been aways attentive to my mother’s needs and wants. When I visited there the staff was very considerate. My inquiries were certainly answered in a professional yet compassionate manner. The facility has been clean and well maintained. There have been several different leadership changes while my mother has been there and I consider the current staff and personnel structure to be the best during her time there. The handling of the Covid crises (although I did not necessarily enjoy it) matched my understanding of the recommended federal procedures which I attributed to the leadership of Mrs. Taulbee.

This place is filled with wonderful, caring people!! I help provide therapy services there and it is wonderful to see people that don't have to look at a chart to know about their residents...they know them like family!! I would highly recommend this house as a home for your loved one.

My Mother-in-Law is a resident of Belvedere Commons and I visit her regularly. The floor staff are great and do go above and beyond to help the residents and their family. Edith does a great job as concierge. Firm but friendly she keeps track of the residents and visitors. I have great confidence in Dusty and Alayah, they are truly dedicated and experienced nurses. Melanie (Mel) is the director is also very friendly and helpful. She is very dedicated to her residents and staff. When we had concerns about a rehab facility mom was in, Mel and Dusty engaged with the rehab and arranged for mom to return and receive physical therapy in Belvedere. Mom is now making progress. She has improved strength to get up and move around with her walker - thanks to the physical therapist and the staff's encouragement. I highly recommend Belvedere Commons Fort Walton Beach if you are seeking an assisted living setting for a family member.

My mother - 100 years old! - has enjoyed her respite care at Belvedere Commons for several years now. She lives for most of the year with my sister in New Jersey, but spends a couple of months down here with us after Christmas. The staff at Belvedere has done an amazing job of creating a safe, loving, and supportive environment for her, and we appreciate them tremendously. Though she is back in NJ now and Covid caution has prevented me from flying up to see her as I normally would, the staff has continued to inquire about her, and I know their concern is real. I highly recommend Belvedere Commons as a safe and loving place for your family member.

My mother has Alzheimers and is very impaired. My mother stays in the memory care unit. I can't say enough about how wonderful the staff is with my mother. I kept my mom at home for several years. It was hard for me to admit it was time for full time help. I am able to sleep peacefully at night knowing she is safe, happy, and well loved!!

My husband was at Belvedere for over 7 years and passed away this past January. The staff is extremely caring and compassionate. They always went above and beyond to help make him feel at home. Placing someone in Assisted Living is never easy. The transition can be be traumatic and frustrating at times. Trips to hospital/Rehab, especially for someone with Dementia, are mentally and physically exhausting. Many times we did not think Grumps was going to make it through yet another surgery/hospital/rehab stay. Many times Melanie went in the kitchen to make him his favorite, a fried egg sandwich, trying to get him to eat. Staff were making him milkshakes with whipping cream to give him extra calories. And his all time favorite gal Natalie went and found him a strawberry-rhubarb pie when he got back from the hospital. Amazing care!! On the evening he passed, staff already off duty came and stayed for my emotional support! Couldn’t ask for a better environment for your loved one. I can only highly recommend Belvedere for any family member. Miss them all! ’•

Wonderful staff! Professional, kind, and responsive! A joyful person answers the phones, the staff give detailed information and resident updates. We are extremely pleased with their cooperation with Hospice, our family, and other professionals needed for our father to enter memory care!

We were warmly greeted by Ann Meyers who we set the visit up with. A large general atrium and an and outside atrium make up the center of this warm cozy feeling assisted living. I noticed that many residents felt confidant enough to leave their doors open despite these being personal residences. This spoke of safety and security and trust in one's living arrangements. The one bedroom studio we visited was adequate, my mom didn't like the small microwave or mini fridge, but she would enjoy all the meals in dining room and no dishes. The rooms are set up to encourage going out into visiting areas and not stay isolated in your place. I liked the flat roll in showers and noted that carpeting was being replaced by linoleum to facilitate walkers and wheelchairs. A rug placed could easily change this if that was your preference. The menu sounded great and not the same old food and an active calendar on things to do as well or just watch. My Mom is still considering transitioning from a large house so it seemed small to her. My dad goes from bed to recliner to bathroom so not as much walking needed here. I liked that it was one story so no elevators to wait on or stairs.

My father lived at Belvedere Commons for almost 2 years, until he passed away at age 90. We were all apprehensive at first as this was a totally different environment for him. As it turned out, we had nothing to be concerned about. My dad loved it there- he loved the food, the activities, going out for lunch with the "lunch bunch." You will never meet a kinder group of people than the staff at Belvedere Commons. They truly care and it shows. I would not hesitate to recommend this Assisted Living facility.

I highly recommend Belvedere Commons. My parents have been there a couple months now and it was a very difficult transition for everybody really. I must say the staff is very caring and they go above and beyond to make it easier on everyone! We are very pleased. Its a nice place, great staff and plenty of activities to keep your parents active.
