we moved by rope a dope marketing scam. the tour guide provided the apartment if we could have certain details promised. we both wrote my requests, the requests were reasonable, and we would pay extra for our requests. i have my paperwork regarding this matter. his paperwork disappeared because he had no authority to make these decisions. the average age is 86 to 101, there are no food or beverage areas that are to be full. there are coffee makers on hot plates, if empty, they are not normally refilled. THERE IS NO 24 SECURITY COVERAGE. FRONT DOORS ARE UNLOCKED, seldom is there a person at the concierge front desk leaving no one monitoring the premises. i fell in a snowstorm outside and was unable to get up got over 15 minutes because i am handicapped, cameras were not utilized because no one was the cameras. what they refer to as food is uneatable, i.e., cold, 90% of the meat is pressed and rolled, the server does not indicate what the kitchen ran out of because there is no vacation. for EASTER dinner we were given box lunches consisting of piece 1 piece of meat, dry cold tuna roll sandwich, 1 piece of bologna, an apple, small bag of chips with a small can of water. no condiments. FOR EASTER for wait you pay for?? i reported this along with brookdale's violations to the town of farmingtons' town clerk. he responded these facilities are under no jurisdictions and to relay this all to John Larson our congressman WHEREIN HE CAN THE STATE OF CT INSPECT ALL DEPARTMENTS. my dog kennel is the Hilton in comparison. also, large resident and staff turnover. please think seriously about your decision. 86 residents are in wheelchairs, not in any financial position or support to move out. i was able to run away, but i could not leave those behind without some changes. there are hardly any available incentives as no vendor, or medical staff, beauty salon, want to be affiliated. any brookdale owned by DEVONWOOD PROPERTIES are all just as bad.

It is a great place to live! I wish I had moved here years ago. There are so many interesting activities; the food is very good; I make new friends every month; and the programs are entertaining and informative. There is no place I would rather live at this stage in my life.

My dear friend Frederick Gear is a resident there and his daughters myself and of course Freddy love it. Freddy turn 100 on October 4 and they had a shindig for him as he would say. They are very professional and yes very kind. Thank you for looking after him. Lily Hernandez San Juan Puerto Rico

My Grandmother lived at The Gables at Farmington for almost 4 yrs before she passed away. When she arrived she was confused and shy. Staff and other residents gave her gentle encouragement to participate in programs and to socialize on the patio. She soon grew to love The Gables and enjoyed her time there until she passed away. Her apartment was beautiful, the food was good and the Private Dining Room was home to our Holiday dinners once it became too hard to bring her home on Holidays anymore. Would recommend to anyone.
