The Sweet Mile had a fantastic time serving sweet treats and drinks at the Sentry Hill cookout! It was a wonderful event honoring their residents and local first responders. Everyone was incredibly friendly, and working with Alicia to make this happen was a joy. We highly recommend Sentry Hill and can’t wait to collaborate on more events in the future!

The front line staff (aides, dining room staff and activities staff) are caring, and very, very good to the residents. I would give them 5+ stars. Be aware, the communication and lack of follow up from leadership is unacceptable. Our mother has lived there for 3 years and we've had issues with leadership the entire time. While the place has been renovated recently and looks very nice, what happens behind that facade regarding leadership issues is atrocious. I definitely would not recommend this place to anyone and we are looking to move our mom because of leadership issues.

We had a thoroughly wonderful experience today at the ribbon cutting of the beautiful newly renovated section of Sentry Hill at York Harbor ME. The food was delicious , the drinks divine , and the best part of all was the dedicated ,caring and knowledgeable staff of Sentry Hill. They greeted us at the entrance and were so warm and welcoming that we felt at home. The entertainment was also fantastic , including a trio of musicians playing jazz and the barbershop quartet! The flute and guitar duo were also excellent! Sentry Hill has always had a great reputation and today’s experience left no doubt in our minds that it would be the best of all places to live if we needed assisted living or memory care in our near future. We definitely will have them at the top of the list of any places in Maine!

Shout out to Alicia Perkins from Sentry. When we initially contacted Sentry to inquire for our mom, Alicia was so welcoming and gave us all the information we needed. She took us on a tour and we were so thrilled to see all residents seemed happy to be there and every staff we encountered smiled and was pleasant. We decided to send our mom there. Alicia went above and beyond working to find my mom a spot. She stayed in contact with me almost every other day, giving me updates and encouragement. Unfortunately in the end my mom didn’t qualify to go to Sentry due to her needing a little more involved nursing care than Sentry can. We are still happy with our experience with Sentry mostly in part because of Alicia. She is an asset to that facility.

Sentry Hill is a lovely community that boasts very independent living but also high levels of care if seniors advance. Their staff longevity is amazing and they are truly called to care for their residents. Every time I visit with my clients, the community is spotless and the staff and residents look engaged, comfortable and happy. Beth, the Admissions Director, is so caring with my clients and their families on tours. This community is worth a look if you are considering senior living for yourself or a loved one.

Hi Beth - My husband Frank, my son Frank and myself had a very informative visit. You were very thorough and gave us a lot of information. I think we all learned a lot about the different offerings between Assistant Living and Independent Living. We enjoyed seeing the two different rooms; as well as some of the other services such as the library. It looked very clean and the grounds were well maintained. Thank you.

Beth set up an appointment for two friends and me to tour the facility when we were in town on vacation. It was attractive and clean with nicely furnished common areas. We were able to see 3 apartments, but no cottages were available at the time. Beth was helpful and answered all our questions. There weren’t many people around when we were there, so we didn’t talk to any of the residents, but got an overview of the place.

In response to the review posted a couple days ago. This is a facility that goes above and beyond in their work. They provide genuine care for the residents. I have never had an issue with the kitchen sending the right amount of food, in fact I have noticed they keep their kitchen well stocked for snacks and are more than happy to accommodate dietary preferences so residents are properly fed. I requested one of the rooms to be cleaned and came back a day later and the room was detailed clean and refreshed. During acute situations with residents staff have always properly advocated for the residents. Needs are addressed because staff know the patients. Staff work with intention to provide a positive and safe environment for residents. Management has always listened and cares deeply about resident well being and safety. If I could give the direct care staff and support systems like management, kitchen, maintenance, housekeeping 10 stars for their community centered approach I would. I love the residents as well and have never felt there was a concern from a resident that had to do with staff or food. It’s hard to understand grief and feel the staff here respect the process and should not be bullied from staff who are self centered.

I recently relocated my parent to another facility. After 8 years, it was clear her care had declined quite a bit. Little to no activities, fighting for bathing and food issues. Obviously staffing is an issue and my parent was clearly unhappy. If you are looking for a quiet place- this is it but if you are looking for fun and activities with great food- go somewhere else.

My wife and I have lived in the Inn independently for nearly 20 months and find the apartment comfortable and well equipped, the staff pleasant and helpful, the management professional and the food to be nourishing and well prepared. Bordering on five stars, except that some common areas could be upgraded.
