I've been asked if I have a favorite amongst the staff at Brookridge Heights. My answer is, "I can't! From Servers in the dining room, to Aids who quickly respond to my calls, and Med-Tech who are keeping me up to date on my daily prescriptions, they simply are all a wonderful crew. They greet me with genuine smiles. Simply put, all of them are my favorites." I've been asked if I have a favorite amongst the staff at Brookridge Heights. My answer is, "I can't! They greet me with genuine smiles. Simply put, all of them are my favorites." Brookridge is tolerant with my roommate. She is a two and a half year-old black cat with an overpowering personality. She is affectionate, super playful, and above all friendly with staff and tenants, even when she is meeting them for a first time. She loves to play games with me. A specialty is slipping past me when I'm leaving or returning to my apartment. Once she has made it into the hallway, she sits by my doorway waiting for someone to pass by. Without Lucy I'm afraid I'd be a lost soul. I'm appreciative that Brookridge will let me keep her at my apartment. I'd prefer a life at home, but there is a time when we need nurturing that's not available for us in our old setting. Since leaving home three years ago Brookridge Heights has provided me with needs I'm no longer able to furnish for myself, and that includes transportation for medical and dental appointments. For assisted living I fully recommend consideration of Brookridge Heights. John D. Hughes

Of all three facilities my mom and I toured, by far, Brookridge Heights was the best. We both felt a genuine connection to the community there. From the greeting we received to the end of the tour we saw smiles, eye contact, generosity, sincerity, kindness, and true caring. From Lindsay Hemmila's warm smile and genuine interest in my mom, to her respect and love for every resident and staff member, we felt a sense of belonging. Every person we came in contact with was helpful and happy to answer questions and provide feedback. The residents were well cared for and engaging, and it was obvious how much the staff enjoys working there. It was like being welcomed into a family home. There is a true sense of community at Brookridge which is why my mother decided she would like to be a part of this "family." The lunch we were served was better than any restaurant food I've ever had. It was fresh, and hand-made. I loved meeting everyone —the chef, the nurses, the clerical, and the janitorial staff—they all said how much they enjoy working there and it shows! They take pride in what they do. I also learned that all the staff gets to personally know the residents. No one is a stranger, everyone is valued. Our time touring with Lindsay not only was informative but we felt we made a new friend. I will strongly recommend Brookridge Heights to anyone who is interested in learning more. Mom is now settled into her apartment and absolutely loves it there. She feels special because she is special. She's my mother, and I am grateful to know she is well-cared for and happy.

My Dad just moved into Brookridge Heights, and all the wonderful people there made what could've been a very stressful situation MUCH easier to handle. Lindsay, Jennie, Morgan went out of their way to make a logistically challenging assessment and move-in process as easy as we could've hoped for, and all the staff we've met so far have been warm, friendly, and genuinely care for all the residents. They have made my Dad feel completely welcome and comfortable already which is a huge benefit and comfort to us as well. I recently had a great experience at Brookridge Heights at their Christmas craft show. My daughter had a booth selling her handmade jewelry and felt very welcomed. My niece, nephew and son were also there and had photos taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Many of the residents came by and commented on how nice it was to have children there.

I was fortunate enough today to attend the Brookridge Happy Hour. Local musician, Dave Berry sang songs that brought back heartfelt memories and allowed many to sing along. Staff were extra attentive offering a delicious variety of snacks and beverages. Smiles filled the room when Dave sang "You Are My Sunshine" as folks swayed back and forth. What an loving environment for people of all ages. Kudos to Lindsay Hemmila, the Activities Department and Staff. We'll be back.

Being a 4 hr drive from my mother-in-law is hard, and we wanted to find a place for her that treated her like family when we couldn't be there. We found that in Brookridge Heights. Brookridge is a beautiful and engaging facility. My mother-in-law is in the Memory Care center and they have activities all day long that keep her focused and interested. The staff is friendly and caring, and the management team is wonderful. She loves it there, and we love that she is happy. She also says the food is top notch. One of her favorite things to do when she lived at home was baking, and they get to do that every Saturday. She even picked up ingredients to make everyone a special cake when I took her shopping for herself. She wanted to show her appreciation for being so welcomed. Thank you, Brookridge!

February 9,2023 I had an opportunity recently to tour the Brookridge Assisted Living facility and have lunch. I was pleasantly surprised by one of the wonderful apartments. It was of a generous size and easily large enough for a couple to share. The individually controlled thermostat was a plus. The layout of the living, bedroom and bathroom areas was more like homey apartment than most senior living places I have seen. Our lunch choices varied from the suggested menu to an alternative menu to satisfy a variety of tastes. The waitress was pleasant, accommodating and knowledgeable. She took time to ask our names. My food was served on a hot or cold plate appropriate to the food being served. The food was tasty and filling. When the dessert choice was declined an alternate was suggested. The facility was very clean and did not have an institutional smell or feel. It had a homey feeling. While the decor was very nice, an extra touch of flowers in various areas and at the dining table (with table linens), would take this facility to a higher level of aesthetic appeal. Review of 2021 Even though I do not have a family member currently at BrookRidge Heights I have toured the facility to evaluate it for possible use in the future for my mom or my husband and myself. I have also attended several events at BrookRidge that entertain and engage the residents and the community. I have been much impressed with all aspects of the facility and their dedication to the care and safety of their community during this pandemic.

My dad fell, dislocating his arm. Spent time in the hospital, and a nursing home. We were able to move him into Brookridge, on the memory care unit. He has dementia, that is progressing. Everyone has been so friendly, from the operator, then Lindsey Hemmila who gave us a tour, and all the information that we could handle that day. When we moved my dad in, everyone knew his name prior, and spoke to him with dignity and respect. It is very clean, beautifully decorated. The areas for groups to occur, dining areas, and seating areas are thought out well. The staff check on my father frequently, encourage getting to meals, and groups he might like He walks with his cane with stand by assist, and has a wheelchair to sit in when he is tired. This is truly a family friendly environment, helping my dad, and all of us feel like we have a newer bigger family, with support for him, and us. Thanks to all the staff from maintainence on up!

One of the most underrated and unnoticed jobs on the floor is that of laundry. Laurie Peck, our laundry tech, has been the answer to our prayers. Laurie works in our Memory Support Community. Organized, meticulous, a team member who takes great pride in the work that she does. It's not just laundry. It's our resident's laundry and her goal is to do her part to ensure that each individual looks their best. She is that smiling, energetic presence on the floor who can be seen bussing tables in the dining room, cleaning up an unexpected mess, stopping to engage a resident who needs a kind voice and touch all as she makes her way to the next laundry room. Not just once, but every trip throughout the community. Always on the lookout, always willing to do the extra and always keeping the focus on our residents. Her impact goes so far beyond the expectations of her job.

Every day I witness true compassion and kindness by the staff of Brookeridge toward the residents and their families. The residents are so easily loved, and the building is full of great people all around. We all have our own personal "favorite" residents, but they are ALL loved and cared for. They become our family. The diversity within the staff and residents is appreciated and keeps things interesting. You can connect with others and with each resident there is opportunity for different learning experiences. The caregivers, in my opinion, are the superstars of Brookeridge. They know how to approach each resident and care for all of their individual needs, and they do quite well. I would give Brookridge Heights and their staff a 10 star rating! Everyone that works there is so attentive and caring to my parents. The community feels like family; everyone is so kind. Lindsay Hemmila is THE BEST. She lives up to her motto of "providing solutions for families" by making the transition from home to assisted living as smooth as possible. The maintenance person went the extra mile to get my parents room ready for them. All the servers in the dining area remember my dad's favorite breakfast item (bacon) and has it ready for him every morning. This attention to detail is why Brookridge is, in my opinion, the best assisted living faciility in Marquette.

My mother Terry moved into Brookridge's memory care unit just over 2 years ago. I have been so impressed with the kindness I witness on my visits. I do not know every caregiver's name, but I am so pleased at the many caring and respectful interactions I see between staff, residents and families. In particular is the activity director Kim who always, ALWAYS, goes above and beyond to get every resident involved and know they are welcome. Also Crystal, housekeeping and care- she knows how to engage my mother and treats her with so much kindness. The nursing staff: Becky and others -Though I know they are extremely busy, they always make me feel they have time to answer my questions. And I witness this not just for my mom and me, but across the board for all residents. Thank you for providing so much dignity and care during this phase of life.

Theyve helped keep residents and staff safe throughout the pandemic by screening everyone who enters the building, making sure that visitor restrictions are followed, keeping all their coworkers in fresh, clean masks daily, organizing and delivering the mail and all the items that families drop off for their loved ones, and offering a friendly smile to everyone they interact with. Kim has a real commitment to her job and her care for Lea has been exceptional, . Brookridge Staff = Wonderful and We =Thankful! We moved my mother-in-law from Florida to Brookridge a year and half ago on one of the coldest days of the year. We arrived by plane on a Sunday and we were greeted by the director, memory care director and the head nurse. My sister-in-law resides in Brookridge Heights Memory Care. We helped bring her to Brookridge last November from Az. It was a huge change for her, but the staff have all made her transition so much easier. Every person on their staff works hard to ensure the well being of the residents. If someone wasnt fond of what was being served for the meal, I have witnessed the cook actually work with the patient to find something they would like and happily get that for them. They have wonderful meals. Covid has turned everyones world upside down, but Brookridge has managed to keep all of their residents safe. The facility is spotless, tastefully decorated and soft upbeat music in the background helps set the mood for a relaxing atmosphere. If ever we have a question, staff are so kind and helpful. Our family is SO thankful for the wonderful care Brookridge provides for our loved ones. The facility, staff and doctors who attend the residents are all top notch. The emotional distance the pandemic has created is more difficult but they have done their best to keep everyones spirits up. Fabulous staff at Brookridge Heights!! Brian, Julie, Mel, Molly (2), Becky, Debbie, Kim, Jamie and the Front Desk staff have been phenomenal angels that help my Dad through the covid 19 challenges ( a classic case) of how residents are affected daily. They truly care about residents, working together and doing anything necessary to get the challenge met. Theirs is not just a job but a career choice that is lived each and every day. Brian, Kim, Becky and countless others help make my Dads life a good one, in these troubling times. From rearranging things so he cant fall out of bed, making sure his phone is hung up properly and taking a different phone to him when it isnt, to saying a few words in Finnish to him, and arranging outside visits or FaceTime visits, the Brookridge staff are a caring and compassionate group! Brookridge Heights is a wonderful community. My grandpa is doing so well and he is very happy at Brookridge. We've seen him improve and have a higher quality of life than he did at home. My mother is more relaxed and not stressed knowing her dad is well care for.

I toured Brookridge Heights for the first time yesterday. I was so impressed by their tour guide. She took the time to explain options and really got to know my mom. We sat and talked like we were old friends, it was so welcoming and friendly. The staff stopped and talked to us and we felt very comfortable. It’s a beautiful community and we will definitely be making a move in the near future.

My mother was a resident in the Memory Care section of Brookridge and she loved the staff. She was well taken care of, took advantage of the nail care, hair care and foot care clinics. The staff members were kind, upbeat, loving and made her feel as if she were home.

I am a pastor at a Marquette church who makes regular visits to congregation members at Brookridge, who, rotating with other local clergy, presides at a monthly worship service there, and who had been invited to participate in a Virtual Dementia Tour a few months back. I have always found the staff to be warm and friendly. In addition, the free tour with lunch provided was very enlightening and helpful, and having space specifically set apart for worship has always been a positive. Also, two of the employees from the memory care unit eagerly led a presentation one evening for our community activity night.
