Great lower level staff, Sadly overshadowed by insurmountable ignorance from senior leaders, abysmal care giver ratios of 3 caregivers for the entire AL side of roughly 80 beds.

this facility in the closed area for the residents with dementia are not being cared for properly. the furniture in the common area is covered in urine and smells to high heaven. you can not sit out there and visit everything is wet. some patientas have supervised visitation for what reason was not explained, just that was that was an order from administration but no one was there to talk to about it. the patient wanted to go to he room and lie down because she was hurting. she is stage 4 cancer .they told her she couldn't because there was no one to watch her. she had to sit in the commons area.

This facility has amazing potential. The staff are very courteous. It should be known that there is no working nurse present throughout the night. The caretaker staffing through the day is low.

Bickford offered my sister an excellent place to live as she aged and faced escalating health challenges. Whenever I visited, I found the facilities to be clean and comfortable, the staff attentive, the activities engaging, the dining room pleasant, the food tasty and nutritious. She enjoyed the personal care, haircuts, nail polish, etc., that are an option; it's nice for a lady to feel well-turned out even when she can’t visit her regular stylists. She always enjoyed music, and the programs Bickford arranged were pleasant for her. She looked forward to meals and to getting out of her room to go to the dining room with other residents. Bickford provided the atmosphere and the quality of care we were looking for when she left her home. Bickford was responsive when, as she neared end of life, her care needs increased.

As a local church pastor, I regularly meet with parishioners at Bickford. I have experienced a warm and welcoming staff that really care about residents. From hallway bowling to crafts, there are many ways residents are engaged and form community.

She and her staff were willing to provide tours and even a respite visit for the prospective patient, as well as answer all of our questions.

Bickford of Lancaster is by far the best Assisted Living Facility I have encountered in the past 16 years of advocating for several family members and family members of friends. The staff is caring, the facility is clean and nursing staff communicate promptly with any issues. They have many activities for the residents and encourage families to join. The food is very good and is not the standard institutionalized kind you find in other facilities. My aunt had three requests when she knew she had to move “ make sure the staff are friendly, the facility is clean and they have good food. Bickford of Lancaster met all her expectations and far exceeded mine.

Modern Nursing Homes leave a lot to be desired. This one is pretty exceptional. Nice location. Clean. Good staff. They seem genuinely dedicated to the care of those living within their walls.
