We love the staff at Sunrise. Specifically Kathryn Bryson, Kell and Kenetha. Also Josephine, Tony and the medical staff. Not to mention the resident Karen who helped convince my mom to stay there. Every time I drop my mom off she said I feel like I’m going home. It’s quite the community and she loves it. We are so thankful.

The staff, at all levels, at Sunrise at Reston Town Center have been wonderful to work with and provide amazing care for my mom. They are compassionate, positive, and supportive for my mom - every single person from health aides, dining room attendants, housekeeping, concierge desk, staff in different management roles. They know her likes and dislikes; the care & support she needs; that she likes manicures and getting her hair done, going to religious services, musical performances, outings, and ensures she is at these events. This is a very clean, positive and responsive community. I feel very informed with the care my mom receives with phone calls, prompt email replies, text messages check ins. The longevity of SO many staff in different roles speaks volumes for the dedication and compassion that is in this community. I’m very grateful my mom lives in the Sunrise Reston community.

EDIT: My mom was in Sunrise for 2 months. Her start there was rough, but after I advocated for my mom and Kanetha, the director, gave me a listening ear, things started to change. Kanetha is a kind empathetic soul. Thanks to her our experience changed for the better. My mom still encountered some challenges with the staff, however, she did become attached to some caregivers who brought laughter and kindness to her days. She has now moved on to a new facility and tells me that she misses some of the staff at Sunrise. If I could give Sunrise 0 stars, I would. Do NOT send your loved ones here please. Save yourself a lot of heartache, stress and guilt. My mother was placed here due to a fall. After rehab she needed a program to help her heal…I was told they had a “Road Home” program here. It has been nothing short of a big nightmare. Not even close to a road home. My mother has been in here for only a couple weeks but she is worse mentally than she was when she came in. They do NOT stay on top of meds or care. Many of aids have a negative energy and are not trained properly. Please please please do NOT but anyone you love into this facility.

We have found the staff to be helpful, friendly and attentive. Mom has settled in and likes the surroundings and the people. There many activities for her and the family. Monthly brunch is very nice and Daniel does a wonderful job. We can and have given good a positive rating to friends. Thank you.

It was just good fortune that, after a broken thermostat made it impossible for my 90-year-old mom with severe short-term memory loss to stay in her home, I was fortunate to find that Sunrise-RTC has respite rooms (temporary stay rooms) and set up a visit. I knew that my mom did not want to live in an AL or any kind of care community/facility, and I was concerned about how this would play out (I wanted to use this opportunity to transition her into a permanent resident). Kell spent almost 2 hours with me, explaining the process, what to expect, tour the rooms, and listening to my concerns. She and her colleague, Asia, were so kind and reassuring. Surprisingly, my mom took to the community fairly quickly. She likes how bright all the spaces are; the warm and engaging staff; and, though she hasn't taken advantage yet, the activities and excursions they offer. On my end, I am grateful for the care team. I am a helicopter-daughter and I feel more and more at ease with each day. Because they (especially Josephine) are very communicative with regular check-ins and address my concerns with warmth and care, I am less worried every time my mom texts or calls me (her anxiety-filled, negative texts and calls have decreased significantly since moving in. In a couple of weeks, she will become a permanent resident, and I am slowly able to return to my "normal" schedule because I know she's cared for, has a schedule, is taking her meds, and has people around her all the time. It's not all puppies and rainbows for her, but for the most part, her spirits have lifted, and she is starting to engage more.

Sunrise Reston failed to keep on top of our mothers medical needs and records. After leaving the facility there were medical records and concerns that were ignored and only discovered after a doctor reviewed her medical history. The staff had a high turnover, lacked training and had consistently slow response times for help needed. Knowing what I know today, I would never recommend any loved ones left at this facility. They don't have enough hired staff to properly care for the number of residents that live there.

Great community and environment, staff are responsive and wonderful! Regular music, music therapy, pet visits, arts, movies and other experiences for residents. Location is walkable to both the Reston Regional Library and Reston Town Center for residents and family. Highly recommend!

If you are responsible for an elderly family member Im sure you can relate. My Father has been in three Elderly care facilities. One of three was typical and one was deplorable. One is commendable. Sunrise has been amazing. I can say the environment my dad is in has been transformative. He is clean, he talks and engages with others, he's reading again. No facility is perfect. I can say Sunrise sees every resident as a challenge. Some are easier than others but I feel they want everyone to be their best. Special thanks to Josie and Sabita. You are doing Gods work!

As compared to other assisted living centers, I find Sunrise at Reston Town Center to be a fantastic option for care. Clean, great staff, appetizing food , engaging activities and all-around a good center for caring for your loved one. In particular, the Memory Care staff I have interacted with over the past few months have been caring, attentive, patient-focused and available. I cant say enough great things about the Memory Care staff.

After experiencing several different facilities and locations, my husband found Sunrise at Reston Town Center. As the other reviews identify, the facility is clean, the landscaping has pleasant views outside, and the food is superior. Most importantly, the staff is friendly, competent, and caring. After a particularly unpleasant mess, Carol took the time to thoroughly and safely clean up my husband to include fresh, clean clothes. She then went the extra mile to ensure that the room and equipment were cleaned just as thoroughly--this included returning to the room to confirm that everything was cleaned to her high standards.

Had experience with my father in six different assisted living and nursing home locations between Virginia and Texas and Sunrise Reston was by far the best. Their staff are friendly and helpful - really go the extra mile for all the residents. The food is really good and plentiful plus flexible with dining times. The facility is well kept, always clean, everything functional, and secure. Overall, a very good experience.

Following a significant hospitalization and rehab, my mother arrive at Reston Town Center from her home in Texas. Sunrise personnel were very helpful in helping us find the correct accommodation, providing temporary assistance while we acquired furniture, being very accommodating when she arrived, and, most importantly, have provided excellent care that has restored her to a level of health she has not enjoyed for years. Their efforts to protect residents and to provide as much enrichment as possible, such as daily visits for coffee and talking with staff members, during the COVID shutdown were outstanding even as they dealt with the associated shortages in staff. As they are moving forward toward a more normal experience their careful management of the resident's exposures has demonstrated an outstanding balance between safety and contacts with family. While they were not really equipped to deliver meals to everyone's rooms as they were forced to do during the COVID episode, the food is now returning to the high standard that they maintained before COVID.

The Sunrise at Reston Town Center is a unique location due an assisted living facility for seniors because it's located in a very active and productive part of Reston. Yet almost hidden away from the day to day traffic of the young productive that frequent the town center. However, I am sure the Sunrise at Reston existed before the build up of this area. The facility itself is a large, serene location that provides debits with day to day activities as week as professional health care assistance for those residents week into their years. The facility grounds are well-maintained and surrounded by trees, which give the residents a sitting and calming sense of relaxation. The interior is clean with spacious rooms, dining and living areas that are beautifully furnished to give the residents a home like environment that were use to. I liked that the staff is attentive and very respectful of the residents, which ensures the debits are cared and secure. The Sunrise at Reston is part of the Sunrise chain providing exemplary services
