My mom has been at Atria for almost 2 years and she loves it!! The entire staff has been phenomenal and they really care and protect their residents. The front desk staff, the kitchen staff, the med techs and the management team have all been sensational! My mom feels cared for at Atria because it really is a community of professional people taking care of their residents!! And non stop activities that the residents have to choose from are amazing!! The lobby and surrounding areas at Atria are always clean and beautifully decorated. My mom loves being here and we love visiting her because it's just a nice , warm atmosphere!! Thank you to all the staff at Atria!!

I've had the pleasure of acting as a long time caregiver for a lovely man with dementia who I absolutely adore, and when his memory loss progressed to the stage that is best served by a memory care unit, I was asked to stay on with him as a private companion. I was looking forward to the opportunity to focus on the more individualized, person-centered, quality of life aspects of memory loss support and connection while someone else took over the more practical daily tasks. I was also anxious at the movie-fueled ideas of being dropped into a cold, controlled environment, and as an interloper no less. Horror stories of overworked, disinterested or even cruel orderlies manhandling residents swirled in my head. Ive been going into Atria's Life Guidance for about 9 months now, spending 4-6 hours a day working with and just being present for my guy, enjoying a unique front row seat to Atria's inner workings. I'm relieved to report that there isn't a single thing to contact the local news about, or even fill out a complaint card. It turns out, Atria is the cleanest, most streamlined, activity rich senior living community I'd ever been in. (I've been in 11, that's a pretty good sample amount) . I was also pleasantly surprised to find out that despite the strict adherence to protocol and eternally lofty standards…they were also really, really fun. Bonus! There's always something going on in the lobby… Live music, colorful parties, pleasant discussion groups, you name it. The staff always takes a moment to come and shake it, even the flawlessly dressed upper management, singing and dancing alongside their community in a genuine, natural way. The grounds and interior are lovely and well kept. LG has a pretty courtyard with raised beds and a gazebo, gorgeous maples that change color, safety gates hidden from view with clever curves. The main lobby feels like a high end hotel, comfortable and spacious. I can't comment from experience on meals, but the snacks are creative with restaurant level presentation. The residents are clearly happy and comfortable with plenty to do,. The staff is warm and attentive, and even behind the daunting locked door of memory care, there's a welcoming feeling of a close community, Most of my time is spent behind that daunting door, where families who've made such a difficult choice have to trust that their loved ones are being treated with dignity and respect. I see the newer families struggling with the complicated feelings and concerns that facility placement naturally invokes. As someone whose loyalties lie directly with the residents and a fierce commitment to person-centered compassionate care, I took the time to write this tome to assure those searching that Atria is everything they claim to be. There is not a single staff member that I have observed over the last nine months that I would not fully trust with my own loved ones. . There's not a single caregiver working in life guidance that displays anything other than competency, confidence, patience, and a true fondness for their charges. The place is consistently spotless, organized, and staff still manages to give a quick squeeze, start an impromptu dance party, or give someone struggling some special attention. LG is not for the faint of heart, and risk of burnout is high, but this staff seems dedicated and invested, and dedicated and invested employees results in a higher level of compassionate care. I appreciate all LG staff, but standouts are Kaylie's capable leadership, Harmony's kind patience, the gentle strength and mindfulness of dignity from Kevin and Chris, Gina's respectful authenticity, Joy's spontaneous fun and affection, Chelsea's sweet empathy and Mary Ellen's ability to soothe and redirect some of the most challenging behaviors. Phil, who doesn't work in LG but is Atria's crown jewel, and of course Maria, the Captain running an intimidatingly tight ship and brings the same firecracker energy to everything from protecting her residents to shaking her tail feathers. In June, 2022, I was looking for an Assisted Living facility in Nevada County for my friend, Evelyn. I contacted all the local facilities in person and by phone. I had no familiarity with Atria so went in-person to speak with their representative. I was immediately impressed with everything about Atria; from the beautiful facility; maintenance and cleanliness; and at the top of the list, their staff and culture which was clearly distinct from the other facilities. Since then I have had many lunches (every month) in their dining area visiting with Evelyn (who is now in memory care) and can say with total confidence, they are outstanding in all areas…I have referred Atria any time I hear someone is looking for assisted living for their loved ones. Plus their food is delicious and setting is like fine dining; it makes for a perfect way to visit with someone who is fragile and have a enjoyable time. Mom really needed some extra recovery time and visiting Atria for an additional two weeks was suggested. She has been adamantly against going to assisted living for years but Jamie made the process easy and doable. Her kindness and attention to detail, her understanding and compassion towards mom made me feel at ease right away. This facility is beautiful, friendly and a welcoming place for your special loved one. Mom went from "no way" to excited and smiling within an hour of being there. The surroundings and the community-feel is perfect for seniors that may have been living in too isolated a setting. I'm hoping, and think the possibility is strong, that the next step in her life journey is making Atria her new home.

I just have to say the entire experience at Atria here in Grass Valley was so pleasant and peaceful and It was all due to a sweet young woman by the name of Jamie who is the sales director at Atria. As many of you know the decision to move a parent into assisted living can be very stressful but Jamie was there for both myself and my mother. When we came to little bumps in the road Jamie helped smooth things out and put our minds at ease quickly. She is amazing at her job and truly has a heart for the entire family. Also I want to say that the entire team at Atria has been nothing short of wonderful including the executive director Natasha , the nurse Lisa all the way to the Maintanance man Tyler. As a nurse, I have many options as to where I can work, yet I chose to come to Atria every day. I was very discouraged in my career thinking I would not ever be able to find a facility or community, (be it skilled nursing or assisted living), that was ethical and where I could feel safe to ‘hang my license. I was thrilled to discover that Atria Grass Valley proved to be the community environment I had been craving and in search of for two decades. Additionally, I was blown away by Atria as a company; in no way was I ever prepared to be so impressed by a company on a corporate level. I was flown the the Support Center (corporate) in Kentucky, twice, and both times learned so much about what goes on at Atria behind the scenes; I was please to discover that a higher standard does exist as does the support and expectation to achieve it. I believe in the company as well as my community and hope to continue to keep coming back day after day and well into the future.
