This was a very unique experience that anyone working with dementia/Alzheimer’s patients should participate in. I walked in thinking I had a sense of what my patients may be feeling. But, that was clearly not the truth. I walked away with such a better understanding of the dementia experience. And, I hope that I take that in to my interactions with my patience in the future.

My father has been living at Cedar Manor for a little over a year and the staff has done an excellent job helping him (and us!) feel at home. Robin and Tracy at the front are always so pleasant and welcoming. CC, Levi, Ariel, Bre are just some of the care aides that have gone above and beyond. Andrea and Robert are always kind and friendly. And Julie in the hair salon is a fan favorite!

*Update: I still have opportunities to visit this community often and am always impressed by the friendliness of the entire administrative team and staff. I recently assisted with their Annual Spring Family Day, which included many residents, families, friends and lots of grandchildren. It truly is a wonderful place for seniors to call home! ”””””””””””””””””””””””- This community is just lovely. In my healthcare provider role I visit quite often and have gotten to know the staff and several residents very well. They do their best to keep residents active and engaged. I don’t have a family member who goes there but I do come in 2 times out the week to service the community and they are always nice the community is always clean and smells nice. Robin at the front desk is always smiling and willing to help along with the other staff members. I can always find someone when I need help with a resident or have a question. My MIL has been a resident in the Sweet Memories wing at Cedar Manor for almost seven months. We are more than pleased with the care she receives there. From the moment you enter the building and are greeted by the concierge, to chatting with the care teams, activities folks and even the chef...you feel so welcomed. The care teams are kind, considerate, attentive, patient, and genuinely care about the residents. The facility is clean, meals are great, and the decor is upscale. There are enough activities to keep most residents entertained throughout the day. I truly appreciate all that the entire staff do to care for and love on my MIL. I also appreciate how supportive the staff is of the WHOLE family. Many of us are dealing with dementia and Alzheimer's for the first time in our lives and everyone there is helpful with resources or just lending an ear if you need to talk. Thank you to everyone at Cedar Manor who makes Mary's (my MIL) life a bit brighter.

I appreciate that CAL is close to my home, which allows me to visit my mother often. The facility feels safe and is kept clean, and the residents and their families help create a welcoming culture. The staff and activities team contribute positively to the environment and provide reassurance that residents are cared for. If I could change one thing, it would be to ensure consistent, well‘trained staff with adequate resources to meet residents’ needs. I would also note that food quality could be improved. Finally, I wish the medical team accepted Anthem BC/BS insurance, as we were recently informed that the affiliated physician will no longer accept it beginning in 2026.

I cannot say enough about the incredible leadership team at Cedar Manor. Sarah, Brooke, and Hannah went above and beyond for one of my patients when I could not reach her conservator after multiple attempts . Instead of letting her go without what she needed, they stepped in with compassion and initiative. They personally made sure she received the proper footwear”pulling together a beautiful pink and gray slip-on sneaker that not only fit her needs but brought her joy. To most, it may seem like a small detail. But in moments like these, it is dignity and comfort that matter most. What touched me deeply is that they didn’t wait for someone else to solve the problem. They acted swiftly, with heart, making sure my patient was cared for in the way she deserves. That’s the kind of leadership that makes Cedar Manor so special”not just management, but true advocates for those entrusted to their care. I am so grateful to Sarah, Brooke, and Hannah. Their empathy and dedication gave both my patient and me peace of mind. Cedar Manor is fortunate to have such leaders who understand that care is not just about medical needs, but about humanity, kindness, and respect.

My MIL has been at CDL @ Cedar Manor since Feb 2024. We have nothing but great things to say. Each staff person that we've interacted with has been terrific. The food is plentiful and delicious.There are activities all day, every day. We could not be more pleased.

Love this place. I have witnessed happy, caring and genuine concern for the sweet memories residents from every employee. They know how to talk to them to make them laugh or distract them to ward off an outburst. So happy my 93yr old Grammy is here. They offer so many different activities. Holiday celebrations, puzzles, various games, paint nails, crafts, garden gazebo, etc.

Commonwealth Senior Living at Cedar Manor is amazing. I was so nervous about even starting the process of finding my dad an assisted living facility but after speaking with Rose I knew I found the place. She helped me so much and comforted me from beginning to end. She is always available whenever I need her. The executive director Sarah was great as well. She came to the house to meet dad and do his exam because it’s hard to leave the house and she’s available to answer any questions I have. The concierge Miss Robin is such a sweetheart. She’s the first and last person you see at the community. She always greets you with a smile. I have met several of the residents and they are all very friendly and sweet. The staff have all been great. They are all sweet, personable and you can tell they really care about the residents. Miss Janice and Christina are two of the ones that really stood out to me on the first day. Fantastic! Fantastic! Is all I can say about them. If you are looking for an assisted living community for your loved one then you definitely should consider Cedar Manor.

Selecting assisted living is a difficult decision. They all have nice foyers, comfy chairs, chef prepared meals and activities. I focused on the employees because they are the ones that will be interacting with your loved one. Commonwealth seems to be above board. The resident to employee ratio is less than the state requirement which is evident in the attention they provide my mother in law. They can get jobs anywhere so when you hear that some have been with Commonwealth for years that tells you a lot about Commonwealth. Other places are constantly advertising "help wanted". The employees in this field do it for a reason. It's not just a paycheck. The good ones will leave. My interactions with the employees at Commonwealth leads me to believe the good ones are staying. The activities are not just word searches and puzzles either. The activities are thoughtful and all day. My MIL is not that sociable but she attends quite a few of the activities. Chef Eric does a cooking demonstration for the residents. Ice cream social every Friday. They even have a resident council which meets monthly and management reacts to the council. Those residents look out for each other. It wasn't easy at first and my MIL still has issues but they are her issues mostly adjusting to assisted living. Commonwealth is doing a great job with her. She said to me, "I don't know what you said to them but they are so nice". I didn't say anything to them. Keep up the good work Commonwealth. Your motto says it all.

If your loved one falls or has reoccurring UTI's do not send them here. The staff in blue are very caring but are understaffed and there is a high turnover. Some of the directors don't follow through and seem to just be there for a paycheck, not for the care of your loved one.

At the end of a busy day making rounds it was great to see snacks on hand for guest, the room temp was comfortable, reception area looks inviting, elevators well kept. I like the idea of windows at the dining area as no one is isolated and can be observed. The same applies to the guest and meeting rooms.

In entering the facility, it was clean and the people were friendly. I went to my friend’s room and she was in bed ( in the middle of the afternoon!). She said she was in a lot of pain today and hadn’t been able to eat very much today, due to her pain. I’m concerned that she is not getting her pain medication as often as she should, or, she is not getting the strong stuff that has been prescribed to her for her pain. The housekeeper came in with her clean clothes and put them away for her. She was very friendly and personable. Later on she rang for someone to come in and change her diapers. They did this in a timely fashion, which I greatly appreciated! My overall impression of this facility is very good ( especially compared to the previous place she was in).

My mother-in-law enjoys living here. The food is very good, and there are a lot of activities. The employees are very friendly, and some go out of their way to be kind. I would like for her to have faster responses when she uses her call button, and there was a medical issue this week that I felt should have been addressed more urgently.

The facility was very nice spacious room, clean and neat, my friend living quarter was setup on an studio style single room apartment . Large bathroom. Staff was very pleasant. Mom is settling in and my concerns have been remedied in a safe and respectful manner. She feels secure. There are daily activities and wonderful meals. The staff and attendants go out if their to meet the residents needs. Thank you! Old review I wanted to update: My mother, 99, has been in this facility for one month. It’s clean, pretty and staff is upbeat and mostly helpful when asked. Here’s the overall experience and it’s been snakebite at best. The check in interview with director was rushed and she kept checking her watch as though she had more important places to be. Barely got paperwork completed and she was gone. No sit down with nurses to understand mom’s day to day patterns, worries, etc. no invite to eat, though it was lunchtime. An initial evaluation took place prior to moving in to determine the level of care and because she’s healthy and slightly mobile they evaluated her as a Level 1. I called later to confirm that and spoke with sales to confirm. When sheets were not changed after 3 weeks, I spoke with station’ who wrote her name down but said it’s mostly for the residents who have assisted bath days. They were sorry for misunderstanding but.. my Mom changed her own sheets remarkably, yesterday, a month into her stay. Medication management: They misread’ the dosage on a thyroid med and had been giving her 1/3 the required. I wouldn’t have known had I not brought her home for an overnight. They argued with me then later shrugged off as human error. They never called to clarify with Dr. But early on they did search her room aggressively for any otc meds. She hadn’t been feeling well and I know why now. It’s been corrected by me, not staff. They’ve never helped her to dining room so she eats when she has the strength to maneuver down. Repeated requests to qualify to use her electric cart which is on site, are ignored. Lastly, I’ve just received the first invoice and they have moved her care level up without notifying me so again I have to chase down an explanation. Communication is very poor with management to myself.

It was nice, clean and everyone I ran into that worked there was very friendly. I saw the residents all having fun on the first floor in some kind of group sing along. I was just visiting a friend on the second floor. She seems very happy and that is what is important.
