I am a member of THE CHRIS ALBERT BAND. We play at numerous assisted living facilities in the area. The Residence at Voorhees is simply a wonderful place. The staff members here are just outstanding. The effort and care that they put into making all of the residents feel like one big happy family is amazing. Jeanelle, Jen, Larry, Dre, Tanya, Janet, and the entire staff go all out to engage the residents and interact with them. Whenever we play there the staff is out there with us encouraging the residents to dance or sing along. It is the only place we play where line dances are the norm. We look forward to playing there because the atmosphere is so positive and upbeat. We always go over the hour we are scheduled to play because we are having just as much fun as the staff and residents. It has become an inside joke for us to always do an encore. The staff here should go around to the various assisted living facilities in the area and show them how it is done. The residents are so happy and so much fun to play for. We have become part of the family and are on a first name basis with most of the residents. This is a great place!!

From the minute I called The Residence at Voorhees and spoke to Josephine our experience has been an excellent one! Josephine is one of the Directors who sat with us and made our decision easier to have our mom cared for by this amazing assisted living facility. She is in a league of her own - so professional and such a kind and compassionate person. We have had such a great experience mostly because of the employees. They are so caring, so kind, so good at their jobs. My mom was lovingly cared for by her aides, Harriet, Jen, Mary, MacKenzie, Patience to name a few whom we got close to. Larry, Jeanelle, Kerrie, Jeanine, Drea were all so wonderful day in and day out - I am leaving names out, everyone at this facility is like "family". I can easily say - - don't hesitate to consider The Residence of Voorhees for your loved one. It is a special place with special residents and a special team who work together so well. The nursing team is wonderful. We experienced no problems - mostly because of Ron's immediate response and kind nature and, of course, Liz our housekeeper with the best laugh around. The events held for the residents are top notch. I will always remember Veteran's Day in particular - it was a moving day here and everything was handled with such grace and love. Amazing staff here. We are so thankful we found you.

The Residence took such great care of my dad. The staff is so kind, caring, and attentive. The environment is welcoming and warm. It is always nicely decorated, clean, and feels like home. They plan wonderful activities for the residents and are very inclusive of family and friends who come to visit. We are so glad that Dad found a home there. Our only regret is that he didn't move in sooner.

My mother has lived here for two years, and our experience has been very positive. The community offers a warm, homey environment that makes residents feel comfortable and welcome. The activities team is outstanding”Larry keeps residents engaged and laughing, and Jeanelle genuinely cares about the residents, thoughtfully tailoring activities to ensure everyone stays active and involved. Thursday live music and happy hour are favorites, along with the Friday exercise class. The front desk staff is consistently kind, and the nursing staff is professional and attentive.

My wife has late stage Alzheimer's. After caring for her at home for five years, I moved her into the Residence at Voorhees last May. It was one of the the best decision I ever made. The staff, especially those in the Memory Care Unit, provide her with a high level care every day. They always take the time to talk to me about her needs. I visit every day and they make me feel welcome and at home. They help the caregivers as much as the residents. The entire facility is well maintaining, with daily cleaning. There are daily activities to keep the mind and body active. My primary goal in finding a facility was would my wife be cared for and safe? At the Residence she is and I sleep soundly knowing that.

I am in a local band that plays at numerous assisted living facilities in the South Jersey area. While many of these places do a wonderful job of taking care of their residents, The Residence at Voorhees truly stands out. Jeanelle and her amazing staff go all out to get the residents involved when we perform. There is such a positive vibe in the building, and the members of the band have all agreed that it is a direct result of the staff being so dedicated to the residents. Even before and after we play the staff is engaged with the residents. It is such a positive place. The staff is in the room and getting them up to dance the entire time we are playing. No one is left out. This makes an unbelievable difference in the mood and atmosphere. The residents are having a blast when we perform there, and we have to give credit to the dedicated staff. Jeanelle, Larry, Jen, Tanya, Drea, Janet, and so many others are outstanding, dedicated professionals. The residents clearly love being there and there is a feeling of it being one large, happy family with the staff leading the charge. These guys do it right!!

Every team member went out of their way to create an experience of comfort and safety and acceptance for my mother and for that I will always be grateful. The facilities are consistently spotless, and even the chef comes out of the kitchen to make sure every person in that dining room is having a culinary experience that leaves them smiling. My mom has marked her 3 month anniversary at Residence at Vorhees! She has Alzheimer’s Dementia and was resistant to any kind of assisted care. She is now thriving! She smiles, is engaged in activities all day long, goes on outings, gained weight because of the amazing chef at the restaurant, made friends and takes her medicine consistently which has helped her memory and word retrieval difficulties. The staff is kind, knowledge, fun and supportive. Thank you for making my mom happy again and giving her family piece of mind that she is safe and living a full life again!

Wanted to share my experience on my recent visit to The Residence at Voorhees. My history with the community dates back 10 years ago with another company. It was great to see Ron the Director of Maintenance and Janet the Business Office Manager still there after more than 10 years! The Executive Director, Tina York, was someone else who I’d known at the community in a different role that had been promoted (rightfully so!). The final part of my tour, was when Tina introduced me to the Director of Dining, who was also at the community 10 years ago in a different role, now promoted. I was so impressed with how Tina and her team have taken this lovely community of people and made it a family. Congrats!

My dad lived at the residence for over two years until he passed away a few weeks ago at 95 years of age. For the past two years he considered everyone in there his family and he loved the place. I’ve never seen him happier.There was always things to do and always a smiling face when he needed it. They treat everyone like family and the people that work there are unbelievable. Not only are they very professional but they are very caring human beings. If I had to do it all over again there’s no other place on earth I would rather him be he often raved how good the food was and nothing made my sisters and I happier than when we called him and said I can’t talk now we’re so busy doing stuff. If you’re looking for a warm,family-style assisted-living experience for your loved ones ”look no further! After my father had unhappy experiences at prior assisted living facilities in the area, We were lucky enough to find Lee and the wonderful staff at the Residence at Voorhees. Since arriving, my father has been getting the care and attention that he deserves. My father moved into Voorhees following a lengthy hospital stay. The wonderful staff under the leadership of Lee Gillis not only set up his new room for him, but took the time to call me to ask for menu and snack choices once he arrived so he would be comfortable. This is above and beyond what other facilities have done. Voorhees has a family style atmosphere where every resident’s needs are taken into consideration From the menu choices to the activities, housekeeping, nursing and maintenance, the residents have a say and are able to take part in the planning of meaningful experiences and delicious meals. Although my father is disabled, he still has all his mental facilities and feels like he is heard if he has a question or suggestion.From day one- even during Covid- Lee Gillis and her staff were able to think outside the box to create a home like atmosphere! . My father is happier than he has been in years! He has made several friends, and looks forward to each day! He is finally home!!

My mother is now 92 years of age while being care for at The Residence at Voorhees. My sister and I felt it was time to consider alternative care for our mother as every day activities were becoming more difficult to manage . So we decided to research assisted care facilities in the South Jersey area, close to her doctors. My sister and I selected five assisted care facilities to visit separately and complied a comparison spreadsheet. It was a meaningful exerciser because it made us comfortable and confident we made the right choice for our mother together. The most important factors that influenced our choice to enroll mom at "The Residence at Voorhees" were: #1-the staff and #2 the facility. The staff were remarkably responsive and intuitive to the residences needs starting with the director (Lee Gillis), account manager (Janet), front desk (Andrea), nurse (Elizabeth), aids, and kitchen workers, and Larry! I live in Maryland and travel for work while my sister works full-time. Our mother gets the attention as if we are close by and makes it easier all around. I would recommend The Residence of Voorhees to everyone, but don't take my word for it, perform your own comparison and you'll feel confident of your choice for your parents as we did.
