Dover Place took great care of my Dad. They gave me peace of mind knowing he had round the clock care. The staff was wonderful to him and to us. They had activities and day trips. They even sent invitations to the families to join in on the fun. They really go above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome.

My mother has received exceptional care at Dover Place. She is very happy there and all the staff are friendly and very caring. I only gave a 4 star because I have issues with the back office staff and their billing system that has required a lot of phone calls with no response. It always gets resolved but not in a timely fashion. Otherwise a great facility for caring for those in need of their services

We had a GREAT experience with Dover Place. My Great Aunt just passed at the glorious age of 99 1/2, and she had lived there from Dec 2019, just before Covid (which she NEVER contracted, by the way!). She lived her final years at an elevated quality of Life at Dover Place, mostly due to the attention and great care she received from the excellent staff. It's a beautifully clean and well-run facility, and my Great Aunt found the social activities provided by the staff to be quite enjoyable. That social stimulation alone probably added pleasant years to her Life! (While the quality of the food at places such as this could always use improvement, the new management has been made aware of this and is supposedly working on improving it!) I highly recommend considering Dover Place for your elderly loved one!

Mom was in an assisted living facility in Rehoboth Beach for several years. In February 2024 she moved to Dover Place and LOVES it. Having seen or heard (when on the phone with her) staff interactions I am always so impressed with the kindness and respect every staff member shows the residents. The activities director is outstanding and goes out of her way to keep mom engaged. She's the happiest I've seen her since moving to assisted living 8 years ago. It's so nice knowing she's in a place that's kind, respectful, and attentive to her needs. And the bonus is is less expensive. This is a case where I feel she's getting more then she pays for based on rates we've seen, and experienced.

When it became clear that my spouse needed more help than I was trained to give and deserved more interaction with others than she was getting at home with me, I began looking for care units. The small town we lived in had little to choose from and charged what seemed to me, way too much. Expaning our horizons, we visited any decent looking operation within a one hour drive. We decided on Dover Place and have no regrets. The staff is inviting, helpful, friendly, attentive and genuinely interested. At home I had difficulty getting her to eat properly. When she entered Dover Place she was 84 lbs. She is now 102 and holding. The location is homey with tree lined streets off the "beaten path", close to amenities, close to a family member, a place I would live (and have since moved to be near). If you need help with a loved one, a visit to Dover Place is time well spent.

THE CARING PLACE TO PLACE YOU LOVED ONES. THE STAFF IS CARING, THE CARE IS EXCELLENT, SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT. JUST AN OVERALL EXCELLENT PLACE FOR SOMEONE WHO NEEDS THE EXTRA CARE THAT THEY CAN'T GET AT HOME.

We played Bridge this afternoon with a favorite friend (Room 220). He is recuperating from a fall. Dover Place had a complimentary basket of snacks and bottled water for us; such a nice jesture! Thank you! We appreciate your hospitality. We hope to come again.

We chose Dover Place for my mom due to her dementia. She was resistant to leave her home but thankfully she has found a new home here. She enjoys the activities, has found friends and loves the food. The staff treats her like family and take great care of her. I have no more sleepless night wondering if she is safe. I know she is safe and happy.

My mother lost my father after being married for 74 years and she need living assistance afterward. Dover Place helped her with her grief and made her feel welcomed at her new home. She is not only living, she is thriving. That is a result of the staff. It's a great comfort to myself and my family. Afterall, 74 years is a very, very long time time to then find yourself without your spouse.

I can not praise the care and concern exhibited to my wife by all of the people at Dover Place. To a person they were as supportive and caring as if she was a member of their family. I was totally satisfied with all they did for my wife while she was in the memory care unit.

My grandmother has been living here for over 4 years now and I cant say enough good things about it. The staff is so caring and there are always fun events going on. It means a lot to know there are so many people who care about my grandmother and treat her like family. Thankful we found Dover Place.

2-28-19 is my visit. As far as most of the staff they seem very friendly and respectful to the residents. But I must say I was very disappointed with the actions I seen for the dining staff today. We walked in and my aunt was trying to decide where to sit and I overhear one person tell the other one to get her. So Im a bit thrown off. As I watch and listen she tells my aunt she has to sit at the front two tables because the other tables are made up for dinner already. Its approximately 1250pm and dinner starts at 430pm . To watch them force the residents to sit where the staff wants them to because they from what I see dont want to work. I have to be honest and say I dont know what all they had to do before they left but it made me uncomfortable with how they treat the residents. These people may have issues remembering things but they are adults and should be treated as such and with respect and empathy. If this is the environment you choose to work in I thank you for all that you do but please remember these are adults who sometimes my act like children but they are not and most of all they are not your children. I spoke to the person at the front desk and she said that if the table is made up for dinner they dont want to mess it up. I get that but perhaps it shouldnt be make up for dinner till people have eaten and not because you are not in the mood to do the job. Another resident came back in for lunch and was told you already had lunch and you do this everyday. I felt it was a better way to handle that and speak to her with a little more respect.

Atmosphere is very warm and senior friendly. Staff seems very compassionate and professional. Building is well maintained and clean. Definitely would recommend trusting your loved ones here.
