My fiance's grandmother is at Chestnut Knoll. The staff are friendly, helpful, and providing the care that she needs. The food is good / homemade and the building is clean. She is participating in the social activities for fun as well as the therapy sessions for strengthening. I would recommend if you are in need of care for a senior.

My mother and I brought my grandmother to Chestnut Knoll after a fall when she was in an independent living situation. From the moment we inquired about availability, we knew she would be in great hands. Her move into her new home was smooth and welcoming. We, as her family felt welcomed and included as well. Everyone we came into contact with was so kind and professional. They always wanted to help in whatever way they could. Nothing was ever too much. My grandmother has since passed away peacefully, but my mom and I would send her to Chestnut Knoll again; without a doubt. It is an amazing place with an incredible group of people!

My father was an occupant for four to five months, and overall we were very happy with the care that he received. Approval for entry was quick, and he settled in quickly as well. As recommended, he changed from his regular medical provider next door to the visiting service at Chestnut Knoll, and they appeared to be adequate, though information on his condition was rarely directly relayed to the family from them. Communication from the resident staff was good in contrast. My father unfortunately (on his own accord) did not participate in many of the plentiful activities offered, such as day trips, eating out, exercise classes, etc. Overall, during a very difficult time and under difficult circumstances with a client who personally did not want to be there, our family is very happy with the services provided.

My mother was in memory care at Chestnut Knoll. From my first phone call and meeting to the days after my mother passed and we left CK, we had nothing but exceptional care. Everyone is truly caring, professional and engaged. Denise is by far the best director for memory care. We had prior experiences of care for my mom and none were of the level Chestnut Knoll provided. They consider you and your loved one as family and they become family to you. We couldn’t have asked for a better place or people to care for my mom in her final year.

My mother moved to Chestnut Knoll last September and was in the Assisted Living area before she had to move to the Memory Care side. It was quite an adjustment for her however the care is exceptional and everyone feels like a family. She is encouraged to participate in activities however usually declines. We recommend Chestnut Knoll to everyone!

As part of the rehab team who works at Chestnut Knoll, I have had the opportunity to work closely with all the residents, nursing and care staff, as well as managers, over the past 5 years. The cleanliness, care, organization, programming and FOOD is bar none. Ive worked in other Senior Living Communities in the past, and none compare to Chestnut Knoll. They believe in treating residents with compassion and respect, while creating a community that feels like a family. Their services extend far beyond the walls of Chestnut Knoll, as they actively engage and provide valuable services to folks living in the greater Boyertown area. I would absolutely recommend Chestnut Knoll! Plus, the therapy and wellness programming is excellent :

My Mommom was a resident for 5 years, and throughout her time here they always had her best interest at mind. As she declined mentally she was moved to the memory care side for the remainder of her stay. I have worked at Chestnut Knoll for a little over two years while I am currently working to obtain my BSN. Not only has Chestnut Knoll and their employees been very understanding of my ever changing school schedule but they have also become a second family to me. Many of my coworkers are constantly checking up on how my classes are going and always willing to lend a hand if I need off for any reason. I also have worked at another personal care home and ended up leaving the facility after a few weeks due to the differences I saw. Chestnut Knoll is not only one of the nicest facilities Ive been at but the care staff are also the most caring and accepting staff Ive worked with to not only myself and other employees but also to our residents. I couldnt imagine working anywhere else.

The staff was like family and they are well trained and knew how to handle her needs. As she declined they were proactive to her needs. I could not have picked a better place for my Moms care.

All areas of Chestnut Knoll operate on a VERY high level of sincere commitment and true devotion and i cannot write a review worthy enough. I have witnessed many admirable moments from the staff there ❤ The physical and occupational therapies are a God-send !!! My Mom and Dad have been and continue to be blessed by their care there. Delicious meals, sincere and caring staff, prompt scheduling of medical care both in-house and out, personalized therapies that have helped both my Dad and Mom...all deeply appreciated by my sister and i. A Positive Approach! I recently moved a loved one to Chestnut Knolls Memory Care Unit and I am so happy with this decision. The staff at Chestnut Knoll are so kind and caring towards him -- they see him as a person ... not his disease or the behaviors it has created. The staff at all levels are terrific at communicating with me and keeping me up to date. It is hard watching someone I love decline and change - but I have peace of mind knowing that he is treated with respect and compassion.

There are not enough words for me to relate what a wonderful place Chestnut Knoll is. My friend Claudia was a resident there for two years in the memory care unit. Making the decision to move her there was a hard one for me to make, but it was the best choice. Four years ago I accepted the responsibility to take control of Claudia's care. We sat on my deck just the two of us when she asked me to take care of her when the time came. Claudia was 66 years old when she passed from early unset dementia. I visited Claudia everyday before a figure in the memory care unit. Sitting there with Claudia and getting to know other residents and the staff there was a gift. It is very upsetting to me to hear bad comments about Chestnut Koll. The old saying is "Don't complain until you have walked in my shoes". If you would ask Claudia if she liked it there she would say "no, but I'm safe here". The nursing staff and the home care girls have a difficult job. If one visits a loved one there and thinks that their loved one is not taken care of, sit there with your loved one for more than an hour, spend time helping them and others and you will see that those girls do everything for your loved one. It is not home for your loved one, but they are safe there and taken care of. The Caring Hospice group, 'THANK YOU" that does not come close to how I feel about you. Sue, Melinda, Robin, Kathy and Pastor Barry, you have a special place in my heart. You made Claudia's last weeks at Chestnut Knoll a comfortable one. I never left there feeling that Claudia was not in good hands. I am planning on going to Chestnut Knoll and volunteering with the memory care residents.

My grandmother has been a resident since May of 2016, and so far I have been very pleased with her care. She is descending into Alzheimer's disease and I feel very secure knowing they have memory care unit if we need to move her.

Disrespectful Staff My friend was put in here due to her memory. Every time I visit her I find her alone and scared as she cannot find her room. When I went and located the staff and told them about her being scared I was told by the staff " you do know what floor this is dont you?" To me they were telling me it doesnt matter she is scared as she has memory problems. The staff showed my friend no respect or me. I would never recomend this place. And I intend to spread the word.
