Venice palms memory care is great my mom is well taken care of, I’m very happy that I found this place, she loves the food! That’s a plus!most places have very hospital looking food not here it’s restaurant style food, the place is very clean, lots of activities to keep mind busy, Nicole is great with my mom she is very patient and passionate, everyone from food director to memory care coordinator, is great they are very friendly and take there jobs seriously, they want residents to feel at home and comfortable, I recommend this place if you’re loved one is in need very compassionate and professional people!

My partner has been a resident in the Memory Care Unit for several months. I am impressed with the staff of the Memory Care Unit. They consistently treat residents with the respect and dignity due them; I have never observed an incidence of any resident being treated in a condensing manner or treated like a young child. This is very admirable, probably very rare, and I am so pleased my partner is so well cared for. Cylvens is an excellent coordinator, handling anything that happens with his calm, reassuring presence. And preventing incidents from happening with his leadership.

I had the pleasure of working with Mark, sales director, for two of my recent clients that I was helping find senior living placement. I recently visited Venice Palms, I can say that Venice Palms is just different from the moment you walk through the door, you get that feeling of welcoming and warmth, the staff are great and go out of their way to assist you! Residents are always smiling and happy and when you ask them they will say Venice Palms feels like home! if you are searching for a great senior living community reasonably priced with fantastic care and a social calendar that is packed full of activities then Venice Palms is it! Paul and his team have made my dad’s transition from living alone to Venice Palms assisted care residence extremely easy. My dad is delighted with the friendly staff and the support he’s received. You get such a warm home like feeling when walking into this community! The staff are so caring and the longevity is amazing as turn over is high in other communities. I had several residents tell me that they are very happy living there and have made new friends. I would recommend Venice Palms if you are looking for a close knit place to call home.

went there today they refused care for mom in memory care said it would be to much for them. Real reason is the businessperson and former boss are all from true wood aka Merrill gardens. Which is what this place used to be. Check your ratings and find out the real reason they don't want someone.

My husband and I have been looking for a memory care facility for my father-in-law and Truewood Venice made the top of our list after our encounter with the staff and tour of the facility. All of the staff were welcoming and friendly. The place was also very clean and tidy. We were advised by a family member that no place will be perfect but to choose the place where the people who live there seem happiest. Of course, the residents in memory care suffer from some form of dementia but the staff give them purpose and allow them to be as independent as possible, and because of this their contentment and happiness show. The general manager, Z and Staci, our coordinator took a lot of time with us not just talking about the facility but also showing genuine care for us and my father-in-law. We were given a lot of helpful advice and we appreciated how experienced and knowledgeable they were. It was also apparent they care about the residents. We were pleased to know a lot of the staff have been with them for many years so they can build relationships with the residents. We are truly thankful for all the help and care we received from both Z and Staci. We don’t know what the future holds for my father-in-law but we hope he gets to spend the last of his days in Truewood Venice.

About a year ago we started looking for an assisted/independent living facility for my mom, who was starting to need more help with daily activities. We did a lot of research online and then visited several options within about 30 miles. Some of the places were very depressing and were immediately crossed off the list. Many of them seemed very institutional with long, long hallways that made for quite a walk from the resident’s room to the shared living areas. Most of them had very large dining rooms that reminded me of school cafeterias where meals were served to a hundred or more people at a time. We were starting to get discouraged when someone suggested that we check out Truewood by Merrill in Venice. We scheduled an appointment with Chetta Cometa, the Community Relations Director, and went for a visit. The difference between Truewood and the facilities we had seen previously was striking. At Truewood the atmosphere was upbeat and friendly. The decor was homelike and cozy. The rooms were grouped into neighborhoods of 12 rooms each and each neighborhood had its own living room, kitchen and dining room. They had a lot of daily activities posted such as shopping trips, crafts, etc. The staff was friendly and the residents seemed happy and engaged. We had found a place for Mom! It has now been almost a year since Mom moved into Truewood in Venice and she is very happy, which means her family is also very happy! She has made many friends and is always busy with the activities. She loves the neighborhood concept. Eating her meals in the dining room with her neighbors is something she especially enjoys and she has gotten to know them all quite well. She also tells me that the food is excellent. My sister is the administrator of an assisted living facility up north so she is very familiar with the day to day workings of a senior living community. When she came down to visit she said that she was very impressed with Truewood. As the daughter of a Truewood resident she can see how happy Mom is. As a professional in the field of senior living she can see how well the facility is run. For years I had been dreading the time when we would need to find a place for Mom. When we found Truewood by Merrill in Venice we hit the jackpot. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for senior living.

Our Mom moved in at the beginning of October (2 & 1/2 weeks ago). She is adjusting really well and everyone at the community from the Executive Director, Sales person, Reception Desk, Nursing staff, Activities and Maintenance, and food & beverage staff have been just GREAT. Everyone has gone out of their way to help my mom get adjusted and feel at home

My mom lives here at Sunset Lake Village. She moved in on Feb. 6th of this year! Our mom means the world to us eight children and 22 grand and great grand children. Having our mom move out of her own place and into a ALF was one of the hardest decision our mom and us kids had to make! The administration and staff of Sunset Lake Village has made moms transition so heartwarming and comforting. The caregivers are beyond wonderful to our mom. Us kids spend a lot of time with our mom at Sunset and I have grown to love moms caregivers I see them as friends! I know in my heart that each day that I say good bye to mom until tomorrow it gives me a happy heart to know her caregivers will care for her as if she was their mom. Thats the best feeling a kid could have! Thank you Sunset Lake Village for your expertise!

My dad was their for 3 years. My sister and I got to know the staff and nurse very well. They really care, and love the people that live their. When the hurricane came through in 2017, they were so well prepared. We felt our dad was safer their, than where we were at. Dad also loved living their. My sister and I would take dad to her house for the holidays and afterwards he'd say, I want to go home now. That's how much he loved living their! Dad had to go into the hospital and when he came back home he was so happy! When he saw the nurse he lit up! Held out his arms for a hug! He did pass away. Everyone was so helpful to my sister and me afterwards. If your thinking of bringing your loved 1 here, you've found their home!!! Itll also be your 2nd home!
