Reviews Atria Park of Lynbrook
July 2026
There are many so many wonderful activities at Atria Park of Lynbrook. I always enjoy the wine and cheese gatherings that Dorothy coordinates for the family members of the residents living in memory care. Not only are these get togethers informative, they are social as well. Upon entering the room, the decor and ambience immediately provide a sense of calmness. The presenters are engaging and extremely knowledgeable. The topics are not solely geared towards providing a better understanding of dementia and Alzheimer’s. There is a camaraderie among those who are in attendance, sharing ideas and personal strategies to assist one another in managing the emotional and physical stress associated with caring for a loved one suffering from a memory disorder. Kudos to Dorothy and everyone involved in organizing these incredible events.
July 2026
I cannot say enough about the staff in the memory care unit. They take such incredible care of my mom - Mac and Sabrina are exceptional! Dorothy is so helpful and responsive and everyone there is so kind and patient. Putting my mom in memeory care was a difficult decision for our family but knowing how well cared for she is makes it that much easier for all of us. Thanks to all who care for my mom and her friends! God bless you all!! If I could give them 10 stars I would!
July 2026
My family and I are so grateful for the care and support my mom receives at Atria Park. The staff consistently go above and beyond to make residents feel safe, comfortable, and engaged. A special thank you to ELIZABETH who manages all the social activities”she creates events that keep residents active, connected, and smiling. Family members are always welcomed at all the activities, making great memories with their loved ones. Her dedication truly enhances the quality of life for everyone who lives at Atria Park. The wellness staff is compassionate and professional. It gives our family peace of mind knowing that my mom's health and well-being are in such capable and caring hands. LIZZIE, who we met on day one, continues to be a great resource for our family and attentive to our mother’s care. The kindness and patience shown by ALL the Atria Park teams make a tremendous difference every day to the residents and their families.
March 2026
The memory care unit at the Atria Park in Lynbrook has been a wonderful fit for my 98 year old mother. She arrived the facility almost a year ago. The staff has always been caring and knowledgeable, and was helpful in guiding us as a family in transitioning my mother from the assisted living community there to the memory unit where she felt more comfortable and able to thrive in a more contented way. Dorothy, the floor director, is always approachable and ready to hear and help with any of our concerns.
March 2026
Great facility for your loved one. Attentive, very involved staff. Very clean and very well maintained. Always something to do.
January 2026
This review is specifically for the director of memory care Dorothy who was absolutely wonderful with my parents during their stay at Atria. Dorothy was always hands on and readily available to help in anyway that she could. She treated my parents as if they were her own family. Her staff were wonderful as well including Sabrina who was so kind and helpful with Mom and Dad. Dorothy was definitely meant to help people as her compassion and loyalty to the residents and family members were so evident and we will be forever thankful for her and the team.
November 2025
We were having a small family gathering at the Atria an early thanksgiving. Dorothy set up the room beautifully. She was so kind and welcoming. Very impressed! Our family thanks you . Thank you Dorothy !!
June 2025
I don't write reviews often, but have to share with others who may be taking care of a parent or loved one just how special the team at Atria Park is. Elizabeth and team have made every effort to care for our mom with kindness and dignity since day one. Knowing that she is in good hands when we are not with her puts us at ease, and we can't thank them enough for their genuine kindness. Thank you all for making our decision on mom's care so easy!!
May 2025
This is an excellent, clean, aesthetically appealing, professionally run institution. We recently placed our mother in the memory care unit. This is always a heart-wrenching decision, but we could not be happier with the care, compassion, and professional skill demonstrated by Dorothy Obrycka, the Life Guidance Director, and her staff. She is tactful, but candid, knows each resident and their families, and delivers progress reports and pics. Dorothy has been a great comfort to us and our family. This place is adequately staffed with professional caregivers, receptionists, nurses and admin staff, and we recommend that anyone in the market give them a look before deciding.
May 2025
I brought my Aunt here after realizing she couldn't be alone anymore. It was the hardest thing I have ever done. I am so happy as she is thriving here...she participates in all the activities and is so happy to be around people. The staff is top notch and are like extended family. Dorothy always keeps me informed of anything happening. She is amazing. I hated to take my Aunt away from her home...but this is by far the best place she could be.
May 2025
My mom has been in memory care at Atria Park of Lynbrook for a little over a year. I can't praise the Director, Dorothy Obrycka, enough, she is the heart of Memory Care. Dorothy is an exceptional blend of professionalism and empathy which sets the tone for the entire staff with a special shout-out to Sabrina who is amazing. Dorothy always tries to make sure the memory care residents stay active and engaged. I am consistently kept updated on my mom and when I've had an issue, Dorothy is easy to communicate with and addresses my concerns right away. I've come to rely on her experience for advice on handling the challenges that come with dementia. She is not just an administrator but an ally to every resident and their families.
April 2025
If you’re looking for a warm, loving environment for your loved one with dementia, look no further than the Memory Care unit at the Atria Park of Lynbrook. Once we met Dorothy Obrycka, we knew we had found mom’s new home. Dorothy is kind, knowledgeable, nurturing, patient and always smiling! She affectionately refers to her residents as family! The studio bedrooms are bright, nicely furnished and well thought out with plenty of closet space. The philosophies they employ, treat the residents with dignity. During the day, mom is well cared for by Lydia, Anita and Sabrina. They get mom to shower (despite her objections), offer her meal choices, and engage her in daily activities. Whenever I visit, I always feel welcome. Mom is safe, and well cared for here and I am so appreciative for that.
April 2025
When our Aunt Lu entered Atria at 100 years of age, we were all a little apprehensive. She lived briefly in the assisted living area but it was quickly recognized that she needed more than a little help. She transferred to Memory Care, is doing well, and will be celebrating her 103rd birthday in May. The main reason she is thriving is the special care the Director, Dorothy Obrycka, gives to all her residents, or as she calls them, "her family". She creates activities to entertain and showers each person in her care with love and respect. One only has to witness Dorothy speaking to one of her residents to recognize how much she enjoys her job and working with them. Along with that, she also takes time to speak with the families who come to visit and to address any small concern they may have. We are so happy that Dorothy is the person in charge of caring for our loved ones and that she makes sure her entire staff does the same. Robin & Rod Deschak.
April 2025
Wonderful experience atAtria, Dorothy and her entire staff in the Memory Care Unit went above and beyond. The care they provided was exceptional and the events that were planned really gave the personal touch to feel like home! Thank you doesn’t say enough!
February 2025
We have had a wonderful experience at Atria in the memory care unit for my mother. The Life Guidance Director Dorothy is an amazing person. She is extremely attentive, communicative and treats the residents and their relatives like family. She goes above and beyond. The facility is clean and offers programs and activities for the residents to keep them engaged. In the summer they do outdoor outings to the beach. They also offer a monthly support group for families.
January 2025
My 90-year-old father was lucky enough to be there for a while before his passing. The staff was wonderful, and I really believe the other residents and the staff were able to create a great environment for my father, providing him with joy in an otherwise difficult time. The staff was kind, respectful, and even dealt with my neurotic family. Although the services here are wonderful, it is a great assisted living center and not a nursing home.
September 2024
Dorothy and the caregivers in life guidance are wonderful, attentive, and caring. Carolina lets me know how my mom has been doing and always shows her kindness. I’m grateful that I found this place, and feel confident that she is safe and well cared for.
July 2024
My mom has been a resident of the life guidance unit for close to a year now. The staff on this unit are genuinely caring. I have regularly interacted w several team members regarding my mom's care, esp Sabrina & Yesenia. They provide superb, patient, kind, and professional care. They treat my mom as if she were their family. Dorothy Obrycka has been the director of the life guidance unit since the beginning of this year. I feel she has made all the difference in the best ways in this unit since she has taken this role. She has been consistently available and assisted me with several needs for my family w/o any hesitancy. I feel very confident that proper, loving, safe, and more individualized care is being provided for all the residents thru her leadership. I have peace of mind now that I wasn't feeling before Dorothy had joined this facility. Anyone who has a family member, esp w memory issues, would be very happy w their care and oversight of the unit. I, at this point, after having checked out most places, would highly recommend the memory care unit at Atria in Lynbrook.

Atria, park of Lynbrook is an amazing place. The place is immaculate. The food is amazing. The staff is so amazing and take care of their residence like they’re their own. My father was there for such a short time, but it felt like home. Consider your parent or your loved one for Atria of Lynbrook You won’t be disappointed.
March 2024
Sabrina is extremely competent, friendly and pays a great deal of attention to our mom. We’re grateful that she’s there to help.
March 2024
The Atria Park Of Lynbrook Memory Care community is a wonderful place for our Mom, in large part because of the new director, Dorothy Obrycka and her supportive caring staff. It is not an easy task to keep on top of the residents and their families needs. It "takes a village" as they say. She is a dedicated and thoughtful person, who organizes activities for the residents, that help them enjoy some fun, laughter and a sense of community. She pays attention to detail, not an easy task. We are very thankful that there are facilities such as Atria Park, particularly when they have staff that truly care.
March 2024
Great birthday celebration for my mom Patricia on Sunday, St. Patrick’s Day celebrating her 88th birthday. Shout out to the new life guidance Director, Dorothy Obrycka and her amazing staff for taking care of our mom. I moved away to Florida two years ago and this was my first time meeting Dorothy who immediately invited me into her office, and we had a great chat for about 15 minutes before family came for a party. She has great energy, great visions of helping get this floor back in order, for there was a recent changeover in Directors. Great bubbly personality. She is a perfect fit for this floor. Easy to communicate with. Staffers Sabrina, Yesina, Nycha, and so many great staffers there. I’m thankful for every one of them. Dorothy transformed the lunch room into an amazing party room in a matter of 15 minutes. Very thankful for all !! Was a great party for mom !! Great staff on the memory care floor if you need to bring your loved ones with Alzheimer’s and Dementia care. Wish I had pix of full set up for party !! It was amazing.
March 2024
Best part is that mom is nearby and well taken care of. Pretty expensive though.
March 2024
Atria Park is a a world class assisted living facility. My mom is in the memory care section. The new director of Life Guidance, Dorothy Obrycka, has transformed the space to a spotless, safe and welcoming environment in a few short weeks! From simple things like arranging the seating to be much more interactive, to putting in work orders to touch up the paint and small cracks in mom's room, to the major things like responding timely to my calls concerning mom's care. I would 100% recommend any family making that difficult decision for their loved one to seriously consider this facility.
March 2024
Our sister was in Atria of Lynbrook for 2 1/2 years. We were extremely pleased with the care that she received from the staff especially Renee. She made us feel like she was part of our family! Her room was large in size compared to the other facilities that we visited which gave us the opportunity to make it comfortable and welcoming for her. We applaud the housekeeping and laundry services since we never had any complaints! Since arriving our sister has gained weight and is taking her medication as prescribed. Her overall health has improved dramatically. Having peace of mind for a loved one is priceless and Atria checked all the boxes! Thank you!
March 2024
Atria Assisted Living Lifestyle, Dementia Memory Care has a very efficient, professional, and knowledgeable staff. The Life Guidance Director Dorothy Obry cka, the HHA staff and the Social Worker , Gayle Osborne has made this Memory Care unit a place you would feel comfortable having a family member reside. There are great things taking place each day such as tea parties, spa day, sing-a- long, parties for all occasions to keep the residents engaged. This Memory Care Residence stimulates the body and mind of the residents. The rooms are maintained on a daily basis. Meals are served in the dining room. The Open floor plan makes my mom feel comfortable to get around independently. The staff continues to provide the utmost respect for the residence.

Please ENSURE you ask for a history of pricing increases from this establishment. They are notorious for choosing to try to charge 20+% increases, year-over-year, for the cost of residence apartments. The current Director since 2021 is NON-RESPONSIVE. Based on what we have experienced over the past year I am left extremely disappointed in the disconnect from reality of what people on fixed-incomes face. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

The accommodations resemble those of an upscale hotel. The residents appeared comfortable and well cared for. The staff are all friendly and appeared to be happy working there.

Unable to visit family during these trying times because of covid was quite stressful for our family. Understanding no in house visiting, the only way to speak and a see a loved one was through Zoom or a phone call, facetime as well. The staff ALWAYS took my calls and listened to my concerns. Eventually FACETIME and ZOOM came into play. The staff at Atria understood how important family connection is to the health of there residents. Each department has a job to do and they went beyond expectations to do there job. Finally be able to see my loved ones I made it my business to see as many staff and management to personally say thank you. Keep up the good work.

I'm so happy that after an entire year of not seeing my grandmother, I was able to visit her this past weekend. It was such an emotional reunification. Atria followed all of the Covid safety protocols necessary. I felt safe and so did my grandmother. I will be visiting her again very soon.
March 2021
Warm and inviting staff that's shows caring and respect for the elderly in need. I was able to contact the staff regarding my Aunt who resides at Lynbrook and was able to get a loving and careful help that my Aunt needed in these covid times. I can't thank the staff enough especially their nurse Tina who went above and beyond to care for my Aunt and to make sure she got the proper care needed. It was especially comforting to know they had the proper infection precautions being used to keep my Aunt safe and themselves. Every time I FaceTimed her or had a window visit I saw all the staff wearing masks and using gloves properly. They had a ton of disinfectant wipes readily available to clean my area and my Aunts. So a special thanks to Tina for doing the right thing and making my mothers home a safe and caring place.

Very grateful to Atria for taking good care of my grandfather. Thank you

Atria Lynbrook has always been the absolute best place for me, and probably for all the other entertainers who have played there over the years. Nathan, the recreation director, is one of the nicest, and most straightforward, and conscientious people I have ever seen working at an assisted living facility. The residents are, for the most part in a very good mood even before I begin my entertainment. That in itself shows me that they are probably very content living there. They seem to really enjoy the bond between them. So, basically, I am saying Atria Lynbrook is right up at the top of the Atria list, and””ATRIA is at the top of the Senior Citizen Living Facility list! Thanks to capable, caring management!
December 2020
My 93 year old widowed uncle became ill, was hospitalized & then sent to rehab were it was determined he could no longer live alone & properly care for himself. I interviewed several assisted living facilities via Zoom & our family chose Atria Lynbrook. Our contact person, Julie Derkatch, conducted the Zoom tour of the facility & coordinated a smooth move for my uncle from rehab to the Atria Lynbrook. The facilities staff is caring, compassionate & always available to our family to address any concerns. The building & grounds are well kept. My uncle is being well cared for & our family is very thankful to the entire Atria Lynbrook staff.

I don’t know what I would do if I wasn’t able to place my mom in Atria Lynbrook’s Memory Care Unit!! The care she is getting is above and beyond any facility could provide. From the Executive Director, Kathleen Johannsen, to the director of the unit, Donna Moore, and without saying Julie Dervitch the most wonderful Social Worker I’ve ever had dealings with! All of them and the staff work together as a team! They have made my mom feel at home and special. In addition, they’ve kept me abreast of everything, going on regularly to keep me calm and relaxed knowing that mom is safe! This year has been horrendous, yet Atria Lynbrook has kept my mom and all of the residents SAFE! What an undertaking! I’ve called the facility day and night and I am always able to connect with a member of the staff to answer any question or attend to my concerns. I even have cell phone numbers of some of the staff, giving me access to them all of the time! Lastly , don’t hesitate to place your loved one as a member of the Atria Lynbrook. Whether it be as a resident in the beautiful Senior Citizen apartments, to the unbelievable Memory Care Unit, you’ll know you’ve made a perfect decision. If you’re investigating facilities for your family member or even for yourself, make an appointment to visit the Atria Lynbrook. It will be the last tour you’ll do!!!

My parents made the Atria Lynbrook their new home April 1, 2019, but it's been so much more. The Atria Lynbrook has provided not only a healthy and safe environment in these unprecedented times, but a place to make precious memories. The team at Atria Lynbrook led by Kathleen Johannsen attend to the residents as their extended family. They truly understand the impact the transition from a home of 50+ years to an assisted living facility has on the family and the residents. They couldn't have made the transition easier. My parent's health is frequently monitored and any material changes are addressed timely. My parents were provided alert bracelets should they need help immediately. The Atria Lynbrook go above and beyond to make my parents and my brothers comfortable that the care they are getting is unsurpassed. Please see the beautiful memories so far from the Atria Lynbrook have brought us all. Special thanks to Nathan, Natalia, Lori, Maxine, Stephanie, Yanick, Isabella, Sharon, Saundra, BiBI, Dr D. and Kathleen, all heros!!!
December 2020
Atria Lynbrook is a warm, loving and caring facility. We have had 2 family members there for over 20 years. Their medical care for the residents is spot on, especially during the pandemic. Kathleen Johannesburg, the current executive director, works effectively with the families and the residents and always does whatever it takes to successfully meet the needs of the residents. The staff is extremely dedicated. I highly recommend Atria Lynbrook to anyone looking for a top rate care assisted living facility. Ed Murphy

An assisted living facility tucked in a rather bucolic setting a stones throw from the LIRR and highway. Many of the clients don't seem to need much assisting as everybody seemed about their business. I was there to do clinicals for an aid certificate and i got to play family feud with some of the clients and I'm afraid I seemed more challenged than they were. These folks seemed to be enjoying life quite well. They must be giving aging and death a rum for its money. If I could do as well.
January 2019
When both of my parents moved in in 2010 I would have given it 4 stars. Eight years and at least 4 directors later, the place is going downhill fast. Plus they have increased my mother's (who is alone now since my father passed in 2012) rent so that she pays double of what she paid 8 years ago. Not a justified increase as they don't do anything more than they did a year ago. In fact I am paying extra money for my mother to be bathed a few times a week and many times they show up so late that she's in bed already and can't be bothered. Right now I am looking for an alternative for her. She's 90 and deteriorating fast, but I don't feel she's getting the care she needs over there. The food has also gone downhill from actually pretty ok in 2010 to barely palatable now. Not a happy camper today.
February 2018
Unfortunately the Atria has standards for ambulation that my family member could not meet, but Judy P. took the time to sit down with us and discuss other options, and even took the time to call an assisted living facility to arrange for us to go and take a tour. Judy is such a friendly and helpful woman and such a relief in a difficult and stressful time.
November 2016
My mother recently moved in and the staff has been outstanding helping getting her acclimated to her new environment. Everyone there has been very helpful with the transition and made our choice an easy one.
September 2016
The Atria team made my grandfathers last years of life as special as possible. They took great care to ensure he was taken care of in every way. They listened to and worked with my family in order to provide the best possible care. In particular, Larissa has been an enormous help and comfort to my family and I, becoming a role model to me in my future career in elder care.
May 2016
There was a level of caring and compassion that gave my mother and me tremendous comfort
February 2014
Can't find enough good things to say about Atria Lynbrook/Tanglewood and how they have cared for our parents over the years. Most notably, Doris and Larissa are tireless and so incredibly patient and kind in their care and concern for our parents and all of the other residents. We have the peace of mind knowing that mom is in very good hands with very competent, caring people. Thanks to all the crew at Lynbrook-Tanglewood...we are confident that Mom is in the best place she can be in these days.
February 2014
Atria Lynbrook has provided beautiful care for my 90 year old father, Ken. They have trivia activities that he can enjoy, keep his room nice and clean and make sure that he has the meals, medications, haircuts, etc. that provide him with a comfortable quality of life. Ann Kyle in Wellness truly cares for my dad, understanding his eyesight limitations, listening to his comments, and helping him with all manner of health issues. Mary Constantino has also been very helpful to both me and my dad by assisting us with twice yearly paperwork. These two lovely ladies are always smiling and friendly and they don't just do their jobs, they provide real caring and assistance. I have not regretted my decision to choose Atria Lynbrook as my dad's residence; it would be hard to imagine him getting better care anywhere else.
February 2014
The whole staff at Atria Lynbrook, in particular Larissa, are all so very attentive and caring. You always see them with smiles on their faces. They are always asking how things are and if there is anything they can do. The facility is always clean and well maintained. I have nothing but good things to say about Atria Lynbrook

Assisted Living Center uses the term "assisted living" or "personal care" to inform users that a community provides assistance with some Activities of Daily Living (ADL's). It may not meet your state's legal definition required for that level of care.
