This place is completely understaffed. They also have bed bugs. An employee informed them a month ago and they brushed it off. These employees have been getting bit all up. They do not want to take care of the problem and it will soon spread to the residents room.

My father had pancreatic cancer and was admitted to that facility and he was cared for in such a kind, respectful, professional way until he passed. He was made comfortable and kept impeccably clean. The staff to include Jenn and Rosa were literally angels who cared for my father as if he were an infant-keeping him clean and preserving his dignity. The PT, OT and nursing staff all did every possible thing they could for him. Even Lisa , the bus driver drove him to appointments and made him smile. The job of caring for aging and extremely ill patients is hard physically and mentally but in the instance of my father - the staff did it seamlessly until he passed safely and out of pain. For this, I am forever grateful.

The staff at Cumberland Crossing have been wonderful. I misunderstood a situation that had occurred with my mother, who was transferred from a hospital yesterday. I lashed out at the Nurse Practitioner, the Director of Nursing and the Assistant Director of Nursing. All three of them were patient with me and handled the entire situation with complete professionalism. I truly believe that my mother will receive the best care here at Cumberland Crossing. I think that the takeaway lesson for me should be shared with other patients and their families: don't jump to conclusions about situations, particularly in health-care. Had I only raised my questions and concerns in a rational manner the whole mess could have easily been resolved. I lost my temper based on erroneous assumptions and I caused damage. I will forever regret my words and actions. Cumberland Crossing has a totally dedicated staff that truly cares about patients. The facility is peaceful, clean and full of caregivers who deserve respect and admiration.

My parents lived at Cumberland Crossing for more than 30 years. They enjoyed their cottage and the greater Carlisle community very much. The staff was attentive and worked hard to take care of the residents needs and concerns. My personal dealings with the management was professional and I found them to be helpful with everything I needed to have done. If your looking for a community for your aging parents, Cumberland Crossing would be an excellent choice. Clean, affordable, well maintained, and a real sense of community.

My 95 year old mother has been here for 8 months. She is in the Assisted Living section and has dementia. I have been very impressed with the care, attention and empathy given to her. CC also is in touch with me immediately if there is an incident such as a fall, or change of behavior. I would recommend them to anyone.

I stayed here for2 weeks after my discharge from UPMC. I selected this place based on the list that I was given had all 1 and 2 star recommendation's. It was the only 3 star. I was ready to leave the first night because the woman who was in charge of my room was so mean. I write her up as abusive but I was told to get rid of the word abusive or they would have to get the police involved, my roommate was also treated badly one night by a nurse on the floor. She was. yelling at her. I was there for rehab. I was 1 a 40 minute session daily, not much of a program. Their real weakness lies in personal care for patients. you are basically on your own. You have to ask for everything, toothpaste, toiletries, etc. No one seemed to care about asking if you needed assistance. When you used your call button, it took a long while to get help. It. took 2 days to get a pain plll and also pep dismal request. Their strengths are a lovely looking facility, odor free, and the food was decent.

A family member described her stay at Cumberland Crossings for rehab as feeling like an insane institution. We didn’t have a choice but to have her stay here for post-surgical rehab. Long-term patients are housed with rehabilitation and short-term patients. The nurses and CNAs at Cumberland Crossings are irritated due to the utter lack of staffing. Even though her therapist had warned her repeatedly not to get up on her own because she posed a fall risk, my family member was told she had to get up and take care of herself. Everyone is basically treated like long term residents; those who are not bedridden and are able to get up to use the bathroom are still pretty much put in depends so they don’t have to help one just walk to the bathroom. Jackie and Michelle were the only ones that were compassionate enough to take their time and help my family member. Even though you are understaffed; everybody deserves to be treated with dignity and respect throughout their stay. My family member should not be told that she has to get up herself and help herself or have to wait 45 mins to be tended to. When family is visiting - the staff acts differently towards residents than when residents are alone, which makes us wonder how others are treated while alone. We understand the importance of needing more staff - but that doesn’t excuse the lack of dignity and respect towards the residents.

Have had 2 parents in Personal Care in the past year and a half. Never heard a raised voice (except when limited hearing makes it necessary). Never see a resident rushed. Care staff is attentive, responsive, cooperative.
