Viva Thornhill Woods met all of my families expectations and more about retirement living. From the first phone call with Wendy the Community Relations Manager my parents were at ease. The tour and lunch were great, Wendy made sure to answer all of our questions and even introduced us to others. My in-laws are looking forward to moving into their new home.

In summer of 2021 my mother in her 93rd year said to me, "I'm ready to move into a Seniors' home. I immediately began to research the homes in the GTA. I narrowed my search down to three homes, shared my findings with mom and we both agreed on visiting the three homes. We started out with the home closest to my mom's surrounding and after visiting the 2nd home my mom felt she was satisfied with our meeting and with what the home had to offer therefore she would settle for the 2nd home. We however had the 3rd appointment which was to meet with Viva's representative, I suggested to my mom that we go since we had already booked the meeting. Both my mom and I are so happy we did, because she knew right away Viva was the place she wanted to call home. Our experiences have been very positive from our first meeting to my mom moving in. Our contacts with staff members have always been responsive and there's always immediate attention to any query we might have. They've extended themselves to ensure my mother feels she's in a safe, friendly and responsible community. Their attention to the handling of COVID and its variant OMICRAN, according to Public Health guidelines has been remarkable. The place is clean, warm and inviting. Viva Thornhill Woods stand by their value of "Making Today Great". I know where I want to live when it's my turn to look for Seniors' living. A big thank you to the staff of Viva Thornhill Woods Retirement Community!

I think we toured 10 other residences before selecting Viva. It was actually a pretty easy decision, as Viva stood out in so many ways. The main areas are bright and always full of people and activities. The many food options at each meal was a great bonus (although I think Id just have the blintzes every day). Moms room is bright and cheery. From the start, Wendy was another big part of our choice. I have always found her to be knowledgeable, supportive and helpful. She always went above and beyond to make sure that mom was happy. And of course - that great smile of hers. Initially, mom did have some difficulty settling in to her new home, but Wendy and all the other staff were always there to help (both mom and me). It makes me so happy now to talk to mom and hear her say I just love living here at Viva. Thanks to all the Viva staff for making that possible.

When the time was right our mother took the initiative to tour retirement homes and make her choice. Our tour with Wendy at Viva Thornhill Woods was thorough and informative with lots of time for questions. The facilities include a swimming pool, fitness room, hair salon, cafe, lounge, movie theatre, spacious lobby, library, etc. Her 1 bedroom suite is bright and functional. The main dining room is well appointed with modern furnishings. Medical needs can be handled independently or administered at the nurses station. Overall, the transition from an independent lifestyle to a retirement home community (with an independent lifestyle) went very well with minimal stress and we are pleased with our choice!

My husband and I have been at V!VA Thornhill Woods for close to two years. I found there are a lot of activities, such as Zumba, exercise in the swimming pool, and regular exercise in the full gym. There is a bus that takes us to the bank, shopping, trips to the park in the summer, as well as concerts. The food is plentiful and varied, and the staff and community members are very nice.

Aging affects all of us differently and verifies that nothing is perfect. So come join us at Viva where loneliness is non-existent. You have at least two choices of activities three times a day to suit your needs and wants. You can be as busy as you choose, or relax in a manner that suits you. Exercise, swimming, entertainment, games, schmoozing, companionship, crafts, books, or company, etc. etc. etc. Youre fed, and bed!! Almost perfection?

When I started thinking about retiring and selling my condominium, I did visit several retirement homes. I found that Viva was for me. My apartment, my choice, was the right one for my needs and comfort. The building itself is very welcoming and bright, I met people I knew, and their programs presented, the live entertainment, especially Wendys programs, exercise classes, outings, three good healthy meals a day, the waitresses and waiters in the dining room, and the staff, are most obliging.
