I came to The Maples Skilled Nursing 2/25 & moved over to the Assisted Living Apartments 3/2025. I'm 64 y/o. I love ❤️ living here. I feel so much safer here than living alone on my own. The staff here is great!! They are very caring & respectful of the residents & are like family to me, and others as well. I have a beautiful one bedroom apartment with a full kitchen,.living room, bathroom & laundry connections and a nice patio where I can.sit outside and feed the birds, turkeys, rabbits, squirrels, and even a.peacock once in awhile. An occasional deer even strolls by from time to time! The river is behind my apartment and I can.watch people walking their babies & pets along the trails!! It's like living in the country in the middle of the city. It's very relaxing & peaceful. I have NEVER REGRETTED moving here! I needed help physically due to being handicapped and then I ended up here from the hospital after nearly dying bcuz of my leg splitting open from cellulitis & sepsis. There was no way I could take care of myself at home even though I.had a daughter/caregiver who came to my home daily. The staff here was so much help bcuz I was so sick & in agonizing pain when I first arrived. I was surprised at how much help I had here compared to some other places I have had to stay at to recuperate from surgery or an injury! No comparison!! My review is not sponsored, nor did they ask me to write all of this, but I am writing this to.help someone else who might be in a position like me, and who might be afraid of moving into an assisted living place. I was, until I came here. I was on the other side in Skilled Nursing, but once I got here, I never had any intention of going back home. It's the best thing I have ever done for myself and it took a lotta stress off of my daughter who had been my caregiver for 7 years. I also felt less stress bcuz now I don't feel like a burden bcuz she doesn't have to worry about me here. She knows I am being well taken care of. My health hadn't good way before I came here, but I couldn't imagine moving in to a place like what I thought it would be like permanently. While I was in ICU, I asked my daughter to come here & check this place out for me. She did, and came back & told me that I would really like it here. She was so right! We have a beautiful dining room that we all are invited to eat in, a library, activities every weekday that everyone can participate in - even BINGO several times a week!!' We have special holiday activities. Different people visit regularly to play music and sing. There's just lots of good stuff! I know there's several apartments available right NOW, and that's a big deal! It's usually hard to find a place like this.with an opening! So, if you need something like this, jump on it, bcuz I know people who were on a waiting list for years!! You won't regret it. I'm so much happier here & you'll also have neighbors to visit with all the time and if you need privacy, that's OK, too! I just thought I'd share this since I know there's a few vacancies.
