We cannot say enough good things about this facility. My Mom has dementia and the care she receives here is amazing. They always keep her active and engaged while keeping her safe and cared for. They do so many daily activities that keep her active and keep her smiling. The staff are wonderful and caring. Even with Covid-19, they have kept the residents safe while still keeping family actively involved. We feel blessed to have Mom in such a wonderful place where she is treated like family. We will be forever grateful that we have Cambridge Hills. We would highly recommend without hesitation!

My dad is very happy at Cambridge Hills of Pittsboro. The people are wonderful to him. They take him to his doctor's appointments. The only issue I have with them is their cable TV. The picture doesn't come in very well for everybody. Other than that, everything has been outstanding. They have physical therapy come in, and music and games for the residents. The food is very good, too.

My mom was a resident for 17 months. She was treated with love and respect by all staff. I would recommend this faculty highly. I always felt comfortable when visiting my mom. I grew very fond of the staff and consider them my extended family.

My mother is in Cambridge Hills of Pittsboro. They've done a great job. Her health has improved significantly since she got there. They help with incontinence, meal preparation, and feeding. She's pretty much completely dependent right now. They're very caring, good people, and it's a very comfortable atmosphere for her.

Loving Daughter

Cambridge Hills of Pittsboro seemed to have really nice employees. It was just older, and there seemed to be a lot more people who were at a different level with their Alzheimer’s, so I wasn’t sure if this was going to be a good fit for my mom. But I would recommend it. The only negative about it was that the rooms looked a bit older, so they may need to do some little renovations. However, the warmth of the employees and the cooking and all of that was very good, so I do recommend it. They had a nice assisted living area and everything. I just didn’t want her to move into an older facility like that. They had some nice areas for activities, and they seemed to involve them in some good things. The food was very good, and the employees that I met seemed very nice as well as the residents. Probably the only thing that kept me from going there was that the hall did smell a little because they had more residents who were further along. So they probably had more accidents, and it was a little harder. It is in a nice location and had some nice areas where you could enjoy being outside.

Positive And Grateful

My mom has been living at Cambridge Hills for almost three years. I spent a year visiting (and revisiting) more than 11 assisted living facilities in North Carolina before choosing Cambridge Hills. I have never regretted my decision. Cambridge Hill's administrative team has been solid and consistent. Questions get answered and concerns are addressed. The team is positive, responsive, and committed to the welfare of their residents. Of course the most important indication of the quality of care provided is seeing my mom's expression of contentment. I visit her often throughout each week and she's happy and well cared for. I'm very grateful to the dedicated caregivers and med techs who treat my mom and the other residents with kindness, patience, and love.

I was here the other day for an interview and came prepared in my mind for what's typically seen in most elderly housing and it was a beautiful place, very clean, and I've never seen so many happy residents. This place is made to function to keep seniors active, at their own will of course, rooms can be dressed to their liking, very nice staff. Had we known about this place when my Paw Paw had to be placed in some type of home this is where I would have wanted him and knew he would be taken care of and felt homely. So, regardless if I place the job or not and you are looking; I highly suggest you take a look and consider Cambridge Hills!

Our family became familiar with Cambridge Hills Assisted Living in Pittsboro (“the home”) when my 91 year old mother moved when my 93 year old father passed away after 70 years of marriage. This was an overwhelming change for my mother and we were anxious about how she would respond to the new place. After settling in, unfortunately she was diagnosed with cancer and passed away quickly. But this experience gave us an opportunity to see up close how Cambridge Hill responded across a span of resident situations. My husband and I cannot say enough good things about Cambridge Hills. The home is a bright clean facility with professional and caring staff, located in a lovely private wooded setting close to downtown. It is privately owned and relatively small with large private and semi-private rooms for ~60 residents in the assisted living section and a separate section for 38 Alzheimer’s patients. The cost is very reasonable. When my mother arrived, the staff, nurses, and doctors went out of their way to make sure my mother was comfortable and safe. They worked with her to help her get stronger and have a good social experience. I recognize that this type of work is not easy and they do it with grace and friendship. I was very grateful for the way the staff communicated with me and proactively worked with me to identify ways to help her. It was a true pleasure to see how she was relaxing into the community and enjoying the staff, fellow residents and available activities. When she took a downturn, the nurses and doctors identified the puzzling changes, she was taken for a MRI, and cancer was diagnosed. They helped us bring in hospice which supplemented Cambridge Hills’ staff. Not all assisted living facilities allow the resident to stay in the home once they are under the care of hospice. It was immensely comforting to have my mother able to stay in her lovely room and be assisted by the staff she knew. Everyone at the home was so sensitive to the situation and provided the family with great compassion. We were truly blessed to have Cambridge Hills in my mother’s life and only wish she had had more time to enjoy it there.

We found a place for my husband’s mom at Cambridge Hills. It is nice; it has a country feel to it and she has really liked it. The room was big. We met a lot of the staff and they were all very friendly.

Residents are very well served by a dedicated staff. My wife has been there for over a year and a half, during this time I was impressed with the "caring" attitude of staff serving her.

My mom has been at CHAL for 4 1/2 years. CHAL is privately owned and run by a local couple. Over the years, I have found them and the administrator to be open, honest and willing to assist with any issues that might come up. My mom has been in the secure memory care wing from the beginning due to her wandering tendencies. Over the years, I feel like she has been well taken care of. There have been issues with some of the staff from time to time, but those issues have been addressed by the administration. I have seen staff removed from the memory care wing, because they are not a good fit. The residents in that wing need a specialized, caring, well trained staff. CHAL tries to make certain the MC staff suits that criteria. Over the years, CHAL has made great strides in improving the overall condition of the facility. It was a very attractive, clean facility when I first visited in 2009. Today it is even more so. The owners and admin strive to make improvements in every area: cleanliness, activities, meals, gathering areas, staff training, care giving and other areas of residents' needs. From the moment you enter through the new air - lock sliding doors, I feel the comfort of a well run facility. Most importantly to a lot of folks, a home for the aged should smell nice. CHAL does. Of course, there will always be the occasional odor of a soiled resident. If that happens when I walk past, I don't hesitate to bring it to a staff member's attention. If it's in a group situation, I usually find that staff is already looking for the offending diaper. In the MC wing, there's a diverse population from residents who seem to be perfectly fine to those who need full time assistance. I admire and appreciate the staff who can care for these residents. It definitely takes a special type of person to do the job. I was my mom's caretaker for several years before it was necessary to find a place. I could write a lot more, but then you might get tired of reading. I give CHAL 4 stars, because no facility can be perfect. There's always room for improvement and luckily for the residents, CHAL recognizes that.

Cambridge Hill is closer to me. The room could have one or two people in it. My wife is in a shared room. I think the staff is doing a good job. There are two groups a week that come, and on Sundays the different churches come and bring several of their members, and they sing us songs and give a little sermon.
