My dad's final home was Aspen Creek, and his journey was a very challenging one, which took him to a few different facilities prior to finding Aspen Creek, just out of coincidence and desperation. My dad suffered a stroke, which left him without speech, and his was a very difficult case. Lisa was the most supportive and helpful person who gave my dad a chance when others would not. The staff did everything in their power to get my dad moved and settled quickly, and we knew as soon as we arrived and saw the comfortable home and welcoming staff, that we had finally landed in the right place. Shelby is an absolute saint, and I was able to call and text her directly for updates on my dad, as I was further away than I would have liked to have been. She and her staff provided love and care to my dad, even when it wasn't so easy. I will be forever grateful for her openness and honesty when my dad began to decline, and she encouraged and supported our decision to bring my dad home to be with us in what ended up being his final days. We are so grateful to Aspen Creek and would recommend their home to any family. Although it was far from our home, we wanted my dad to stay there due to the wonderful care from the staff. Even though I was away, I knew he was loved and cared for. Thank you so very much, Lisa, Shelby, and Staff!

After three tumultuous days at a memory care facility in Decatur, Illinois, my mother-in-law, who suffers from dementia, was asked to leave. Feeling lost and overwhelmed, we prayed for guidance. Thankfully, we found Lisa, a compassionate soul who guided us through the process with unwavering support. She assured us that Mom would be taken care of and emphasized the importance of understanding her needs. The staff at the new facility, including Shelby, Amanda, Addy, and others, have been exceptional in meeting Mom's needs. It's been three weeks since Mom moved to Aspen Creek, and we haven't received a single distressing call. Every time we reach out, we are met with kindness and assistance. We are grateful for the path that led us here and for the caring community at Aspen Creek. Our hearts are full of gratitude for the staff who have welcomed Mom with open arms and made us feel valued and supported. God bless Aspen Creek. Steve & Vicki Wilson

A Place for Mom helped our family to find the perfect home for my Grandmother who suffers from Dementia. My Grandmother was residing in an assisted living community but then suffered a stroke, which advanced her Dementia, and made it unsafe for her to return to her assisted living community. A Place for Mom told us about Memory Care Facilities, which we had never heard of before. They sent us a list of options that met our criteria. We toured several facilities, which were all wonderful, but we knew the moment we entered Aspen Creek that this was the perfect fit for my Grandmother. It is a home not just a facility that takes care of their residents. They are a 12 resident home with amazing caregivers that are loving, caring and patient with all of the residents. Upon entering Aspen Creek you feel like you are in someone's home. The family room, dining room and kitchen are all in one open space which encourages residents to spend the majority of their time out with other residents rather than secluded in their rooms. They have wonderful chefs that prepare amazing meals throughout the day with each resident being able to come and go from the kitchen when they are hungry for a meal and not shuttled to a dining hall because it is time for a meal. They keep residents interacting with one another and give them a sense of purpose throughout their day. My Grandmother enjoys cooking and being in the kitchen, which they encourage her to participate in whenever she feels up for it. They even have a cat and 2 dogs at the facility to complete the package! I feel like I am walking into my Grandmother's home each time I visit. I am so thankful that I chose to call A Place For Mom that day as without that call I would have never found Aspen Creek, my Grandmother's home away from home!
