I wish to stay anonymous because of the review I need to leave so that other familys and other seniors do not experience the same issue with this facility!! there is absolutly no transportation provided for residents , the transport van has been "down" for more than 6 months ..so the residents that rely on the transport for doctors appt , and grocery store , are unable to use this feature ( that everybody is still being charged for ) , there is no doctor on staff , and not one employee is allowed to even take a blood pressure reading !! residents have been told if they have a medical issue , that they are to go to the emergancy room !! the meals are another issue entirely...the staff that prepares the food , are called chefs , which everybody questions , because of the poor quality of meals that are being served .some residents refuse to evn participate in lunch or dinner . we have heard words such as , inedible and never fresh ! almost all the residents are so afraid to voice a concern or complain to staff in fear of being asked to leave their home . the meetings are a good thing but none of the residents feel comfortable complaining , the problems never go away . I hope future familys that are looking for a place for their loved ones , think twice before they live anywhere , not just here . i will say that the place is quite clean and some of the staff are really great!!

My father fell at the end of March and was discharged from his Rehab facility and was still unable to live at home alone until he recovered further. Grandvilla Dunedin offered respite care for him from May till July when he was back on his feet. They offer beautiful facilities, and many locations. They were incredibly kind, and very attentive to my fathers needs. The staff across the board was wonderful and knowledgeable. Being his medical POA and working in the medical field myself I know how hard it can be to find quality facilities, and this one far exceeded my expectations. Would 100% recommend any Grandvilla location to anyone!

I had to place my parents into assisted living a few years ago during covid. I chose one of the supposedly "top rated" facilities in the Largo area only to be highly disappointed with the lack of care. Teeth brushing, bathing , the very basics of cleanliness in the apartment were very much lacking. I brought this to staffs attention on numerous occasions only to fall on deaf ears. I spent much of my time there having to look after my folks myself. My mother needed better care for her dementia and thankfully I found Grand Villa. She is getting the level of care she deserves and she is happy. After being on a waiting list for a few months I finally got my father into the ALF side. I am so satisfied with the care I no longer have to check on them daily. I have my life back! The staff at GV is outstanding, care and cleanliness are outstanding. I would highly recommend any of the Grand Villa facilities. In fact I referred someone to the Largo GV and he is thriving. The general attitude of caring permeates throughout the GV organization. They are worth every penny. Special thanks to Nikki, Executive Director Dunedin, Lori, Leasing Coordinator, Ruby, Memory Care Manager, Sara, ALF Coordinator, and Carole at the front desk, who always greets everyone with a cheery hello.

Searching for a home for an aging loved with dementia, is never easy, but Grand Villa made the process understandable, educational in short, easy! Between Nikki Plummer, Executive Director and Mike McNamara, Leasing Coordinator, many questions were answered,my loved-ones assessment was effortless, and the tour was informative. I was impressed with their Respite Care program in addition to the active adult day center, they have a Movie Theater, Pool table and card gaming room, a Sundae Soda Fountain shop leading to a dining room that is elegantly casual.I was instantly struck by the openness of the facility, windows and protected doorways opened to a serene walking trail with outdoor sitting areas. But unlike other facilities, Grand Villa showed me a level of caring not often seen in Assisted Living Facilitys. Walking down the hallway, our guide and director greeted every resident by their first name, other facility employees were seen engaged with residents, the housekeeping staff, maintenance techs to activities guides could be seen interacting with residents; no person regardless of ability was ignored! I consider this to be a gold standard in Assisted Living Facility management! Although I loved this facility, my loved one selected another facility. I plan on keeping them on my shortlist. Thank you Grand Villa of Dunedin, you made me feel like family!

I was so impressed with Grand Villa of Dunedin! I was touring communities for my mother and noticed how much it stood out compared to the other assited living facilities around town. Of course it was clean, had lots of fun areas to engage the residents, but most extroadinary was the staff--they made a point to engage the residents as we walked through. I could tell it wasnt for show, because there was a genuinely warm rapport between them. It really felt like a community...a family! Grand Villa was fully staffed (a difficult achievement in these times!). Many have worked there for several years--even decades! This speaks volumes to the level of teamwork and leadership present!!

My parents were both at Grand Villa of Dunedin. I cannot say enough about the care they received. Connie and Laurie were instrumental in helping us find a place with specialized care for my mom. They went above and beyond. My dad has since moved into a town home and continues to tell me how much he misses everyone at Grand Villa. I think he misses the food too. 😉 Ellie was my dads buddy, she was always ready to help with a big smile on her face. My sister and I even looked forward to seeing her when we walked through the door to visit my parents. She brightened up that lobby and her presence made a huge difference to all of us. Through this journey with my parents we have met some very special people. Thank you Grand Villa for showing me that people still care about our elderly. Thank you Connie, Laurie, and Ellie for all your help and making my parents stay memorable.

Grand Villa of Dunedin and their employees have taken such good care of my grandma! We have enjoyed working with each employee at GV and feel they truly put their residents and families first! The employees at GV have gone above and beyond to accommodate Mimi and our family members through the tough process of moving a loved one into an ALF. The activity coordinators are great at keeping the residents busy with bingo, exercise, and music each day. Additionally, they have been very diligent with COVID-19 precautions while taking each residents loved ones into consideration with exceptional window visits and communication. Very thankful we chose GV for Mimis memory care!

Our family loves Grand Villa in Dunedin. My mother is in memory care and is surrounded by caring and loving staff. They treat her with respect and compassion. Krista, the Activities Coordinator, knows each of the residents personally and works to keep everyone happy and engaged on a daily basis. We love the way Krista always makes herself available to take a phone call from a family member. When I entered Grand Villa to take a tour of the facility I was impressed by beautiful home like atmosphere. Everyone from the front desk, the head nurse Martha, and the Director Nikki Plummer, has always been helpful and available.

I learned about Grand Villa when I came to visit my mother-in-law who lived across the street and I knew some day I wanted live here. I wanted to live in a community that had a lot of things to do because I didnt want to just sit in my room and there is always something going on at Grand Villa. I participate in most of the activities but of course my favorites are bingo and the entertainment at our happy hours. The food is also quite good here and the best thing is I dont have to cook it! The staff are all nice and easy to talk to; I have not met a staff member that I didnt like and the management team is fantastic and always available to help when I need them. The staff do a great job keeping my room and the entire place clean and I also love that they wash my clothes and change my sheets every week. We are a family at Grand Villa of Dunedin, this has been my home for over year and I would absolutely recommend it to everyone as a great place to live.

My dad was a resident only for a short time because he lived at 3 other assisted living communities and was on Hospice before I found this place. I never asked for anything special at any of the places he lived, I just wanted my dad to have good care. It was a difficult decision to move him again but Im glad I did because Grand Villa treated him like he was family and my dad did not get good care that until he moved there. The Executive Director and Memory Care Supervisor were always professional and loving since the day they came to assess my dad at his previous community. It takes a special person to be able to work with seniors and from experience, there are none better than the staff at Grand Villa of Dunedin. When I went to visit my dad, he was always clean, well groomed and as happy as he could be. I am so thankful that I found Grand Villa and my dad was given the quality care he deserved at the end of his life. I recommend Grand Villa of Dunedin to everyone I talk to and tell them about my dads story and not waste their time with other communities.

I am a resident at Grand Villa of Dunedin for over a year. I told my daughter I would try it for 3 months and if I dont like it, I will move and my daughter is still trying to get me to move to Pennsylvania to be with her. I like the food at Grand Villa, I like socializing with the other residents and I love my apartment. I went to the hospital a few months ago and when I came back, the staff went out of their way to make sure I had everything I need and was well taken care of. The staff really care about the residents and treat us like family. I enjoy telling my story to people who come to see the community and recommend Grand Villa as a great place to live and I look forward to staying here for many more years.

My wife and I chose Grand Villa of Dunedins assisted living facility for her 89 year old uncle primarily because he owned a scooter and could scoot himself to Dunedins beautiful downtown and waterfront area. But over the course of a few months we came to realize that Grand Villa itself was the perfect place for him. His two-room unit, while smaller than his apartment had been, was attractive and very comfortable. The building itself was kept spotlessly clean, and we never noticed any ‘institutional odors. Most importantly, every member of the staff, from management and nursing to maintenance and reception, were always friendly, helpful, and attentive to his needs. You really cant ask for more than this in a care facility.

Well kept, clean, treats everyone like family. Chantel is the activity Director in the memory care unit and does an excellent job of keeping the residents active and involved. She goes over and above what is required by her job. She truly cares for those under her care. Martha is the memory care supervisor and is consistently reviewing levels of care to ensure the quality of care the residents are receiving. Everyone at this facility really seems to care and treat the residents like family.

Let me start by saying my mom was in the memory care section...My first clue to not place her here should have been when I saw the aide walking the halls constantly spraying air freshner...the stench was overwhelming and then when he used the air freshner it made it like a perfumed stench. Most of the patience had pee soaked pants on...I am going to assume the stench came from the upholstered chairs that they sat in...not sure that the chairs have ever been washed....I am also going to assume that the patience were not take to the bathroom enough or changed as often as they should have been as I witnesses so many pants drenched in pee...witnessed aides saying they were "short staffed" which made for bad attitudes and being overworked was most definitly taken out on the patients....was there many nights and witnessed one of the aides finding humor in moking the patience...witnessed some of the patience scared from the way this one aide spoke to them...made my heart break for them. My mom started out there with a walker but soon later was bound to a wheel chair just like most of the other patience. The TV room is extremely dark and gloomy and oh the smell...guessing the chairs are all soaked in pee...a month later it appeared that the smell had gotten a bit better...I think air freshners were installed in the hallways to soak up some of the smell. I moved my mom out and she is now walking again and in a much bright happier place. This place should have a so called "shopper" go in at night to see the way some of the aides are with these poor patients that cannot speak for themselves. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy!

My mother in law has lived at grand villa memory care for close to a year now. Although an adjustment for our family, she is receiving the care she needs. The staff is outstanding!! The caregivers are always willing to help, but more importantly they truly love her and treat her like she is their mom. We have realized that when a loved one has this horrific Alzheimer’s disease life changes forever and nothing remains the same. It’s easy to be critical of the staff’s performance because how could anyone ever take care of mom like we would, but I will tell you first hand that the staff who takes care of these special seniors are truly a blessing. We now know that there’s no perfect place to take care of mom, but the staff at grand villa certainly try each and every day and we thank them from the bottom of our hearts. Thanks grand villa for all you do!

My father moved here from another AL facility that he was not very happy at. SO GLAD WE CHOSE GV! The facility is in a lovely part of Dunedin with plenty of shade trees in the garden areas. It is very well kept and the interior is well maintained. There are plenty of sitting areas for visitations and they all seem to be used often by the residents. There's even a grand piano in the lobby area that a guest pianist comes to play once a month for "happy hour". Even though my father was in the memory care side, he would be brought over to the happy hours to hear lively music and even dance a little when he felt like he could. The food is excellent and always good portions. The activities are abundant and well structured. The rooms are a little small, but that's compensated by the activities area, leisure area, gardens and sitting areas that encourage the guests to be out of their rooms. I could go on and on about the facilities, but by far the best part of GV is the staff. We could not have found any other place where the staff would have taken better care of my father. From the way they kept his room clean and comfortable, to taking care of his clothes and never losing any of them, to the way they always dressed him so nicely, as if he was always going out to some place special. But even more so,...the way they treated him. Always cheerful and respectful. They would joke and cut up with him. They would encourage him to participate in the activities, even though he acted like he didn't want to. They'd get him engaged and he'd have a good time after all. There are so many instances of excellent care I can describe and it's because it is not just one or two staff members, it is the way they ALL are. Which is a reflection of the management and leadership of Grand Villa. If you want very fancy facilities and luxury accommodations, you may be able to find better than GV. But you will not find better people to care for your loved one. This place is a hidden gem in Pinellas County. So glad we found it!

Grand Villa was our first stop in our whirlwind tours last weekend. It was difficult to be objective when visiting the other 4 care centers, since Grand Villa set such a high standard. No other senior community could meet their criteria, nor could their staff compete with the care that we saw Dawn Winder and her team provide for their residents. They really Feel Like Family!
