My mother has been at The Village for over 3 years. I am not a novice on Senior Living Facilities. We have moved my mom 8 times since my dad died in 2014. I’ve eaten in 8 dining rooms, watch the care my mother was receiving in 8 places, and saw the management of 8 places. Your dining room staff and meals are by far, the best. Rickay Hildago, Administrator and Edie Cano, Health Services Director, are so above all the other places, there is no comparison. Thank you for the great care you have given my mother and are still doing. I would recommend The Village to anyone in Bakersfield looking for a great place!

The experience with getting my grandmother placed in the memory care unit was seamless. The staff has been incredibly nice and accommodating to all of our families and grandmothers needs. They went over and beyond with helping with the admission process, making us and her feel comfortable in this time of change during these times that we are in. They even went above and beyond with helping set up her room and making it a special place for her. We are blessed and thankful for having our grandmother placed in such a wonderful place.

My mother-in-law has lived at The Village for over 3 1-2 years. She and her dog, Pumpkin, lived in Assisted Living for most of that time. The staff could not have been any nicer or accommodating to both her and her dog! The staff has always bent over backwards to assist in any way they could and treated her dog as the facilitys mascot! For the first year she was at the facility, she thrived, especially with Tori who always encouraged her to keep active. Tori took her under her wing and made her feel special and needed. Unfortunately, my MIL began to have some health issues and Tori left for awhile. We could see a big change in her during that time. But, still, the rest of the staff was wonderful and always have been! Recently, due to an injury, we have had to transition her to memory care. While she was in the hospital, the facility offered to completely care for the dog and let it live there! Once she moved back to memory care, Lo and behold, Tori runs the activities again and my MIL has begun to be more active. Redonna has been very welcoming and even personally went to pick my MIL up when she left rehab and transitioned to memory care, to ensure she felt comfortable and was surrounded by people she knew. Staff even visit her whenever she has been in hospital or rehab! We must also recognize Jacqueline, who is always so sweet and caring with my MIL. During her transition from her apartment in assisted living to her room in memory care, Rickay was wonderful, allowing us needed time to move her belongings, and offering to help in any way they could. We cannot say enough good things about the caring staff throughout the entire facility! Finally, every new facility is going to have growing pains and there has been a lot of turnover. Sometimes staffing may seem short, but we have never once heard anyone complain about their work. They are also very good about letting us know of any mishaps (always caused by my stubborn and independent MIL, not any of the staff.)The facility itself is always clean and bright....like the smiles on everyones faces! Thanks, The Village, for all you have done for our family and for treating our loved one as one of your family!

My grandmother has moved into The Village Memory Care and she is definitely thriving. I appreciate the activities available as they keep her mind busy and her body moving. The communication with staff is excellent. There is always someone available to speak with and someone that is familiar with my grandmothers routine.

Luxuries like a bar (happy hour at 4 every week day), movie theater and a great salon. I would recommend to anyone looking for a great assisted living for their loved ones.

Im writing on behalf of my father, whom we moved in to The Village At Seven Oaks approximately three months ago, after researching several assisted living facilities. There were many factors in my decision, but the main factor is the staff. Honestly, is any place perfect? No...however, the staff at The Village are responsive, courteous, friendly and caring. Anytime I have had a question or concern, I have received an immediate response, as well as the type of professional interaction that makes me feel that they understand and care, and will do all that they can to help me (and my father) remedy whatever question-issue is at hand. I visit my father nearly daily, and I witness many spontaneous interactions between the staff and the residents, and it is heart-warming to see such friendly staff members! My second deciding factor to move my father to The Village is the facility itself - which is beautiful, extremely clean and well-maintained. Rather than seeming like what I imagined an assisted living facility to be like, The Village is a lovely neighborhood of residents, with beautiful surroundings that feel more like a luxury apartment complex. The Village has libraries, a movie room, a salon, laundry rooms, exercise room, a dog park, a bar and restaurant (and I am probably forgetting something) and several open, sunny gathering areas and quiet nooks. Overall, I am very happy with The Village, as is my father - and we are both happy that this is his new home!

My Mom has been at this facility for 2 months now and she is very happy there!! My Mom loves her apartment and she feels at home there. The facility itself is very elegant, always clean and the staff is just wonderful. We enjoy our walks around the facility, as the grounds are also very well kept. My son and I are so glad that we chose The Village at Seven Oaks for my Mom. I highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for a beautiful assisted living home for their family member(s).

This assisted living facility by far is the place to be. Staff is reliable and friendly, always willing to help. Management is very active in the care as well. Ed Rickay Hidalgo makes you feel welcome the minute you walk in the building, you can tell she takes pride in her job, she goes above and beyond. I would definitely feel comfortable placing my family here knowing they will get the care they deserve,Magen Zimmerman, LVN

In response to Nichole Hernandez: this feels like underlying issue with a certain coworker, maybe she’s a better employee, maybe she’s well liked or maybe you just have a lot of growing up to do; HOWEVER I have personally worked there and worked with mentioned employee and she was nothing but amazing, sweet and respectful of everyone! Please don’t let your insecurities maybe you have word vomit and embarrass yourself like you are.. families need to know that their families are loved and taken care of, if you have further issues please look in your handbook and contact HR.. #welovethevillage

This review has been a long time coming. My mom passed away just over a year ago and every time I sat down to think about her, our experience at The Village and all the wonderful people that took care of us, I would just cry and cry. I miss my mom so incredibly much and I miss our wonderful experience at The Village. A few years back, our mom had been staying at another assisted living in town when she had what appeared to be a stroke. I took some time off work to be in Bakersfield to help my sister care for her after she had been released from skilled nursing. Another month out and mom's health and strength continuing to improve but realizing she needed more attention then before, I reached back out to the facility where she already had her own room to see if they had the same for her in memory care--they didn't. That set us off on a journey that would ultimately find us at the Village at Seven Oaks. We had no idea the Village even existed until we started to look for other options. It was an answer to our prayers and a 2 minute drive from where my sister's house is. We couldn't believe it. And it only got better when we showed up for our appointment to meet everyone and look around. The Village is 5 star luxury and super clean and bright. For any caregiver that has been faced with moving someone they love into memory care, "5 star luxury, clean and bright" are not the adjectives that come up when describing most facilities. And it felt good there. It was upbeat, happy and hopeful. We were sold. After we got mom into her room and got to know the people that were taking care of her, we fell in love with them. Redonna Massey was one of our original caregivers and we absolutely loved and adored her too. She channeled me and what we wanted for mom so much so it was hard to tell where she left off and I began sometimes. She strongly encouraged mom to walk as much as possible and to stay engaged and active in other activities. When Redonna was elevated to a supervisor who oversaw the activities and staff in MC, it was reflective in everyone that worked there and who paid close attention to our mom and the other residents. It was truly amazing to watch. Our mom was one of the first residents in the memory care at The Village. In fact, there was a group of 5 that we actually called the "original 5". We were so blessed to be where we were with the special residents and the people that cared for all of them. The nurses, the med techs, the caregivers--especially Redonna--loved our mom, you could feel that. You KNEW they cared. It wasn't some act or "thing" they had to do. It was sincere. Mom wasn't there but for about 8 months when she had the stroke that would take her from us for good. Her final days were spent next door at Hoffman Hospice (another place I highly recommend). Over the last days of her life--every single day--there was a steady stream of her caregivers, nurses, and med techs who would come by to hold her hand and talk to her while the entire family watched in awe at the out pouring of love that she was the recipient of. Redonna was there on her breaks and at lunch every day. Under the circumstances, it doesn't get better than that. Anyone who is at the crossroads of making the tough choice of finding a safe and warm place to facilitate care for someone you love who is unable to take care of themselves anymore, I give the Village at Seven Oaks my highest recommendation. It really is second to none and it never ever disappointed. #frontierculture The Odell Family.

I loved the facility and the staff! All care is carefully tailored to each resident and management treats the caregivers very well. This, in turn, leads to better overall care. The facility is very nice and clean, and the food is good.

People often only speak up when they have something negative to say; unfortunately, this is what people remember. Seven Oaks is a beautiful community and the staff have been nothing but friendly. Customer service is always great and the general feeling within this community is one of genuine positivity. The residents have great activities and there is always a smile for waiting for you. This is a great community and deserves a round of applause for their efforts in caring for our families.

Smiles of comfort and love I felt like when I found the facility it looked just like a regular housing living... And then when I walked in and I was greeted beautifully and I looked around two so much comfort I automatically knew this was a five-star facility after my visit in a one bedroom, wow if I had to put someone in care and I had could offer no assistance for my loved one this is where I would want them...
